While the general service, advice and speed at which Central operated was good, Central seriously overvalued the sale price of our property. Central’s valuation sat well above (£50,000 or nearly 13%) that of another local agency’s. They justified their valuation by claiming that undervaluing was common practice in order to achieve an easy sale, and were very confident they could get their price. The property eventually sold for the supposedly “undervalued” price (£45k below what central claimed they could achieve), and this considerably slowed down our sale and involved successive incremental price drops which left us questioning their honesty and integrity…

I can't say I had a good experience with this agency. The sales team "forgot" to mention that the property was part of a special block of flats that would not give the possibility to rent the flat out in the future under any circumstances.I believe quite an important factor to consider when buying a house!

Severely disappointed with the level of service, lack of responsiveness and incompetence shown by some staff at central estates. Their agents have managed to leave our property unlocked and following that incident, for which an apology was only given after we chased, managed to misplace our keys between viewings meaning prospective buyers could not access the property and we lost viewings. I would not recommend them if you want estate agents who give timely feedback, are reliable and are committed to trying to sell your property.

A really unethical estate agent. Sharing my experience as a potential buyer with Central Estate Agents. We viewed a property over a month ago but lost out to higher bidders. I was contacted by their Senior Sales Negotiator, Shah Islam, this week to notify me that the buyer they went with was messing the seller around and they were reviewing previous offers. I said that we were still looking and stood by our original offer (which meets the maximum value Central put on the property per their mailing emails). Shah said he would get in touch with the vendor straight away that morning and let me know that day. I rang him the same day in the afternoon after not getting a response and was told he was on the phone. Then, that same afternoon I received a general email from Shah to his whole mailing list stating that the 'Stunning' property was now up for sale again. I was shocked and disappointed - it is evident that they thought they could squeeze more money for it, but in the interim never got back to me. I was left feeling completely shunned and neglected after being open, honest and a genuine potential buyer for a property after they had problems with the original buyer. As above and to reiterate, I'm a genuine, honest buyer in a good position. I replied to Shah's general marketing email stating that I was disappointed he had never got back to be before re-marketing, as HE was the one who got in touch with ME this week asking whether I would still be interested. I asked what the situation was. Shah never replied to my email. A ghosting from an agent after he approached a buyer with an honest, open and solid offer is a joke. I asked Shah to remove me from their mailing list immediately after no response. Yesterday I received another mass email from another Central Estate agent, (Paige) about the exact same property - even after I asked to be removed from their mailing list. It's evident to both me, my partner and my wider friends and family I've discussed this situation with that Central do not have genuine buyer's offers in mind and they are operating unethically. They neglected and failed to respond to me, even after approaching me in the first place. A truly horrendous offer experience and the above agent I dealt with has presented themselves as unethical in this situation. I hope they actually remove me from their mailing list now and I never have to deal with them again. I'll warn anyone and everyone I know to list or buy with ANY AGENCY other than Central!

My experience with central as a Tennant has not been great. Emails left unanswered for weeks, having to chase responses from other department members. Maintenance jobs marked as completed when they have not been, and in some cases marked as complete even before someone has come to inspect the problem and diagnose it. Find it much simpler and quicker to go straight to the landlord with my needs rather than through central. Positives: when you get the right person at central to help you things move quickly, however it is very much pot luck.
