Unable to trust

I don't feel any trust on them according to my experience to invite them for our property's valuation. SWANS Estate Agents advertised our property with asking price of £225,000. Then Alpha Residential Estate Agents advertised our property with offers over £195,000. They even found me a buyer with offer of £185,000. But I refused the offer because our purchase price was £190,000 on 31-Mar-2021. ------------- But Barnard Marcus advised for asking price of £180,000. {I think that It's because another company called AMG Ltd (our mortgage lender's assets management company) was in contact with Barnard Marcus about our property. Barnard Marcus' agent told me about AMG Ltd works for those who can't pay mortgage repayments.}

Horrible experience with Callum

Inquired about a property which we wanted to buy in cash. Had the misfortune of speaking to a very rude Callum. Conversation went like this:We: Interested in purchasing this property on cash. Can we view it. Callum: No. We: Umm, ok, could we atleast see a video?Callum: No. We: How are you proposing to sell this without us being able to see it?Very rude abrupt responses. This really isn't how you sell properties. I would never ask them to sell mine.

I would not recommend anyone to use…

I would not recommend anyone to use them. I bought property through them and I lost of lot of money. Its partly my mistake as I didn't know its possible to sell property without person who sells the property not being the owner of the property. They lied to me that person is in the process of the registration and it will take few months. The true was something else. It took me 11 months to register that property with massive Council Tax bill for empty property as well as heroin squatters being inside for 6 months.Two weeks is very short of period to check all tricks that they use to get you into trouble and unsolvable problems. You have to have very experienced solicitors who can read their selling contract special conditions which are usually on written on 20 pages adding all sort of hidden cost on top of the auction price. I paid 8k plus buyers solicitors fee. Mind you they have their own solicitors company who writes this kind od special conditions and "Clients" who they selling for. As I said if you don't have big experience with Bernard Marcus Auctions sale methods don't bother to go there and bid for the properties as you can make costly mistake regret it big time. There are not good deals there for anyone...

The absolute worst! It is my opinion that Chiswick has a seeious issue of lack of professional estate agents, properly trained and customer friendly. Barnard Marcus is no different. They bully you into putting your property with them (they virtually spend their time on rightmove to pester owners into listing with them instead of current agent). AVOID AT ALL COST!

The process of buying a house in London can be long, stressful and full of ‘surprises’, but it was certainly made easier by Alex Cumino, our mortgage advisor from Barnard Marcus. Alex was 100% committed to getting us the deal and handled our case with great professionalism and care, finding every avenue and turning every stone to get the extra bit of help we needed. Alex is friendly, knowledgable and answered any questions we had openly throughout the process. He went above and beyond with helping us with unforeseen complications and we felt like we had a trustworthy advisor by our side - proactively fetching us better rates when markets changed during our waiting period, connected with various lenders to get any exception approvals we needed and giving us regular detailed updates along the way. I was offered a consultation and chat with the in-house mortgage broker Callum and the service has been fantastic. From initial conversation and advice on my mortgage/financial options all the way through to offer and processing the mortgage, Callum has been approachable and extremely helpful. Erected a 'for sale' sign on a private residential building in a spot clearly marked 'so estate agent signs' within private property boundary. Repeatedly asked by management company to take down the sign and lied they would. Complete disregard and respect for residential rules for business gains and brand advertising.

I instructed them to let my flat

I instructed them to let my flat. There were a few things that I was concerned about in terms of their professionalism but ignored it. However I got an offer for my flat from them and was told the references and comprehensive checks were coming. They came the night before the tenants were due to move in (despite me chasing constantly). They failed then affordability checks, and were not certainly not comprehensive but I was told that was what insurance was for. I withdrew and said I felt sorry for the tenants, and got told by Anton he “did not give a sh@t about the tenants” and him telling me how great he was . In addition, despite having my number they kept calling my partner rather than me… I complained and they completely did not answer my complaint in any way, shape or form. Finally, my partner got a call from someone who used to work in Anton’s branch to say she had moved as she could not work for him, and they got lots of complaints about him. Completely different to what they said in their response to me. I finally let my flat for more than they marketed it for and with great tenants. AVOID

Overall experience with Bernard Marcus has been disappointing and stressful.

Worst property managers i have ever experienced! We have lived in a property they manage for a while now, but they are Incompetent in responding to any maintenance issues. There employees, especially Samantha, are extremely rude. They ignore your requests/ emails and phone calls, they leave you living in a mouldy property. They do not care about there tenants. They are more interested in getting there fees. You are constantly chasing them to do there jobs properly. Our boiler broke down three times within a year, they leave you without hot water and heating for a week in the winter period and think this is a reasonable amount of time to get a contractor out. The property was not professionally cleaned when we first moved in. The oven broke down three times within 6 months, each time over a week to fix. The company is full of excuses and lies. Extremely shocked that they are still operating and landlords are using them. Inspections completed, but tenants are not allowed the report or want to charge tenant fees! I know for a fact that they just want to take tenants deposit for no reason. Overall experience with Bernard Marcus has been disappointing and stressful.

By far and away the best experience in letting agents'. In what has been the most difficult time for us in securing a place Aleks was phenomenal!
