I had the pleasure of working with Callum Gerrard when purchasing my first home and I couldn't have been in better hands. He helped this novice navigate the complexities of finding the right mortgage, insurance and provider. He translated all of the complex jargon into language that I could understand. Not only did he handle all of my questions like a pro, but he also took the many changes to my circumstances in his stride. To top it all off; he's a lovely guy and I reckon he's saved me hundreds of pounds a month on my mortgage. Can't really ask for any more can you?

Letting agents are liars

Their letting agents are liars, they lied about the cleaning services and other fixations before move in, they kept pushing for deposits. They delayed all the documentation until the last minute, when I got the key and went to the apartment it stinked, it was dirty and windows were full of mold. Beaware of the letting agent in their finchley branches.

Very good buying experience

The journey to found a flat to buy is quite difficult and the stress of being a first time buyer doesn't help.When we visited our flat for the first time with Bernard Marcus we had no special expectation about this agency and were prepared for a stressful few weeks.However we were lucky enough to deal with Will who, thanks to his enthusiasm and professionalism, made the process smoother and interactive.During the past few weeks, Will has been caring, present and proactive to make sure the sell would go through with less issues possible.I recommend using and trusting this agency and Will!

Evil company. Nothing is good about them. When we moved in refrigerator broke down we let them know they didn't even answer. We had to buy new one. End of our contract they asked can you sell the refrigerator for a reasonable price we said ok, they never paid. End of our contract they raised %40 rent. We had to move out.They never came for inventory check and It took 5 months to get our deposit back. They never contacted us. Not even once. At least 20 times I contacted them but they just ignored. Which is deposit must be paid in ten days. 5 months without any single information. Everything I wrote here I can prove. I have kept every single message and email.

Demi at the Chiswick branch was brilliant. The transaction was a probate sale and there were various "hiccups" along the way. Demi negotiated between the parties, contacted and chased outside agencies and generally pushed this matter to an early completion. In addition she kept us informed at each stage, which in the stressful atmosphere of property transactions is invaluable. Always energetic and cheerful, we were extremely impressed by her. Looking for an estate agent that will ignore you? Laugh at you down the phone? Call you a liar and put delay after delay in place to not help you? Then look no further. I moved into my flat earlier this year. I found that it was not connected to the gas mains. When I told them this, they said I was making a mistake and laughed at me down the phone and hung up. I had to get SSE to come out and connect the gas and never received an apology from them. When moving out they 'lost' emails that told them how much deposit to give back to me which resulted in it taking over a month to get anything back. If I could give less than one star I would - no house in London is worth working with this company.

If there is someone you truly hate from…

If there is someone you truly hate from the bottom of your heart, recommend Barnard Marcus. And Ashleigh Fisher as the agent in charge of their case. The following happened during a 1-year lease (Sep-20 to Aug-21):1) No space heating and hot water for a month in peak winter. I've lived in London since Sep-2014, and heating issues have ordinarily been resolved quite quickly, usually within 24 hours as a matter of urgency. 2) There was unbearable drilling noise from 8 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday. As we work/study from home, we faced extreme difficulties talking calls, participating in virtual meetings, and had severe headaches. Furthermore, the construction told us that this will at least go on till March 2021, i.e. more than half our tenancy. We were not informed of the construction when we were shown the apartment, which would have led us to select a different apartment. 3) Fire alarms: The electrical chimney wasn't working in the kitchen, and the fire alarm kept going off when we cooked food. This was a health and safety hazard as there was no ventilation. 4) Bathroom door: The door of the bathroom was stuck and simply did not close. This issue happened after the heating stopped. Barnard Marcus took 6 months to get the door fixed. 6 months!!5) Work and study: My work suffered as I was unable to take client calls due to the noise. My flatmates' education also suffered as they were unable to participate in Zoom classes online. Barnard Marcus couldn't care less.

They don't give you all the information you require, then charge exorbitant fees because you haven't had all the information! Avoid them like the plague and use a reputable company.....you have been warned

I had the misfortune of dealing with one of the most disappointing letting agencies I've ever encountered in my life. The apartment they showcased in the video appeared to be well-maintained, clean, and in excellent condition. However, what I received can only be described as a scam. When I arrived in the new country and city, I found the majority of appliances to be non-functional, damaged, or faulty. The apartment was dirty, with black mold present in the kitchen and bathroom. The furniture, mattress, and tiles were all broken. Despite reporting these issues for a month, they have not fixed a single thing, and their excuses and indifference have been infuriating. To add insult to injury, they are charging an exorbitant amount of money for this subpar apartment. Avoid these scammers.

Overall I wouldn’t recommend

As they are quite a well known agency I thought I would be getting good service, we were visited by the branch manager, who, as soon as he received my business- completely disappeared and never responded to anything. We had multiple offers accepted however buyers either weren’t informed correctly about our situation or they messed us around. When we finally progressed with our sale the progression team were terrible- never there, wouldn’t respond and wouldn’t update when they said they were going to. I also kept getting calls from their ‘customer service’ team who had no idea how to respond when I told them know angry I was. There was one amazing lady at the mitcham branch who was phenomenal the whole time- she was the only reason I never went insane. Overall I would not recommend Barnard Marcus.
