Thoroughly recommended

I’ve never sold at auction before so I entered the process with some trepidation. However, Rachel from SDL was just brilliant. She was patient with my questions and completely put my mind at rest. She was proactive in contacting potential bidders and she kept me informed throughout the whole process. I honestly couldn’t have asked for anything more. The house sold today and I received a call from Rachel five minutes after the sale, explaining what happens next. SDL have dealt with estate agents, probate and solicitors seamlessly. I’ve had to do virtually nothing. They’ve done everything for me. Thanks so much Rachel.

We have just completed on a property…

We have just completed on a property brought via SDL auctions. Having never brought via an auction site before we were understandably nervous however Tom Plackett who was handling the sale was wonderful. He helped to negotiate the sale, he kept us informed, knowing what is happening was vital, and once we had agreed to buy he talked us through making and completing the bidding process, all a little scary but Tom was reassuring and helpful throughout. He also helped to put us in contact with a solicitor that could complete our sale in the twenty day timescale and throughout this time was always available to talk to if we had any concerns. Without Toms help our purchase would just not have happened so I can only say a huge thank you. I would never hesitate to buy from SDL again and indeed if we ever decide to sell a property would approach them first rather than go via the normal estate agent route. Thanks again Tom

After being messed about for over 1 year by buyers and estate agents, I decided to sell my mums property via SDL Auctions. I can honestly say Laura Wiles and the office team - Lucy Fawsitt, were so professional, helpful and efficient, they made the sale super easy and quick! Thank you so much to both of you! Everything was done remotely (as I live 200 miles away) and within 1 month the property sold for a lot more than the asking price, yaay!! Helpful staff and pleasant experience. Special thank you to Sarah Barfield and Margaret who have been really helpful and went the extra mile!! I’m still relatively new to the whole property market, and it was nice that Sarah had taken the time to explain and assist me with steps to take, which would reduce any time wasted when getting an offer potentially accepted from the vendor. Sarah didn’t treat me as ‘just another customer’. Well done and great customer service! Definitely an asset to the company for sure - makes me want to do deal with SDL on all occasions.

Jim has been absolutely amazing and so helpful. (Viewing a house to buy at auction)Myself and my partner are first time buyers and are very new to the housing scene. We were both sceptical about how viewings would be in general (but especially cautious due to covid at the moment) due to my partner working I had to go with another family member to the original viewing of the property. As I was concerned that my partner would not be able to see the house Jim was more than happy to ensure my partner got to view the house and took us on the Saturday to show us both around. Jim has been extremely helpful, knowledgable in his field and more than capable to answer every question we threw at him. Being professional, polite, chatty and covid safe I felt completely at ease and not pressured in the slightest. He managed to very efficiently keep time slots going without rushing anyone and also made sure social distancing and mask wearing was adhered to. Jim also helped us to imagine the house how we would like it and even helped us to think of ideas we hadn’t even thought about. He took great care of us throughout the house viewing asking about our opinions and how we were feeling.He gave solid recommendations on surveyors we could use and even took us over to go and speak to the local surveyor who he recommended (a fabulous recommendation aswell). Jim truly went above and beyond mine and my partners expectations. We felt safe, informed and extremely happy with the service provided. Would just like to say aswell that it is so nice to have someone local show you a house who knows about the history of the village and the houses surrounding. Would highly recommend. Thankyou so much for all your help.

We placed two small non-residential land lots in your 18 December auction. Whilst they were at fairly low guide/reserve prices they were nevertheless unusual in a number of ways.We dealt with Chris Theocharides at SDL as well as other staff. Chris has been excellent in the way he took instructions, tried to understand the nuances of the lots we were offering & seemed genuinely interested in achieving a good outcome for us which indeed was achieved.We have other potential lots in the pipeline & will be talking to Chris about them in due course.

Sales negotiators lazy, belligerent, flippant and dismissive with a poor attitude

Sales negotiators lazy, dismissive, flippant and belligerent with no interest in doing any work to actually sell properties.Asked for material information on a property available after being unsold at auction twice on multiple occasions that was not provided in the paperwork and was simply told if it’s not in their paperwork then they don’t have it!I literally had to spell out that their job was a sales negotiator and if the information wasn’t there, then they pull their finger out and ask the seller for it! It is this kind of attitude shown by staff then it should be nipped in the bud rather than allowed to perpetuate and lose future sales!Follow up: how do you expect anyone to negotiate on a property when you cannot provide imperative information? Do you just expect them to pay your 6k fees and suck it and see? Highly unlikely given as your small print makes it in non-refundable and negates you from all liability regardless of whatever comes out in the wash later!
