All the staff were very professional and helpful from start to finish. In particular Lucy Crapper who helped us through the whole process. She is extremely professional, clearly at the top of her game, and she achieved a price far better than we expected. She personally did all the viewings which we thought made a massive difference to help the sale go through. I would only ever use and recommend this Company in the future for this type of sale.

Nottingham branch. Sam Rashid is brilliant! I’ve never had any property auctioned before, so I have no other experience to compare this with, but as far as I can see, it was very smooth and the house sold for a lot more than the estimated price, which I was obviously very pleased about. The staff were all very helpful, as I had no clue about the process, and they guided me through everything with patience. I had been dreading the whole auction process, but they made it as painless as possible, and relieved a lot of my stress, especially as it was very upsetting to be having to sell my childhood home after almost 50 years there. That was the kind of support I needed. Thanks very much!

Auction sale 3 bed semi

I had a 3-bed semi to sell that needed some renovation work, so i decided to try an auction sale through BTG Eddisons. I really wanted a quick sale and a reasonable price for the property. I contacted Eddisons about 6 weeks before my target auction date of 30/04/2026. Robert Stone visited the house, explained the process and we agreed on a guide and reserve price that would attract a number of bidders. I cleared the house and Robert came to photograph and set up the sale particulars on their website and rightmove. My solicitors completed the auction pack about 2-3 weeks prior to the auction date. The property sold at Auction for a price that was at the top of my expectations, so I was very satisfied. Throughout the process Robert and his BTG colleagues kept me informed at all stages and it has been a seamless process and much easier than I thought it would be.

Sold a property a few months ago. Scott Light valued the property and took care of everything right up to the date of the auction. He was polite, professional and extremely pro active. His advice seemed always to be of high quality. He always responded immediately to any queries even making himself available to answer calls in the evening. We would give more than 5 stars if we could.SDL generally were significantly better than I expected them to be and in my opinion are a lot better than many other estate agents.Post Auction we dealt with Steph who also exceeded our expectations and pro actively dealt with what turned out to be something of a roller coaster ride (no fault of SDL) to a successful completion.Based on my experience of this and other sales the auction process is far superior to the typical open market / estate agent option albeit the seller must be realistic on achievable price. From the moment you decide to market, you could be completing in 6-8 weeks and when the hammer goes down you have exchanged contracts at that moment. Highly efficient process. No waiting 6 months for solicitors to preside over insignificant detail!I would 100% recommend using SDL for an auction sale.

AVOID AVOID AVOID. Recently bid on a property which was described very positively by the auctioneer on the live video cast. As it turns out, the property is mostly empty in an almost derelict state. I feel the auction description and auctioneers comments about the property was inaccurate. I therefore wanted to cancel the transaction. SDL would not accommodate this and kept insisting I go ahead with the purchase. I feel I was deceived by SDL in how they portrayed the property and to what the property actually is. I would recommend you do not trust what SDL website says about the property and how the auctioneer describes the property. Furthermore, refused to contact the seller on my behalf to mutually cancel the transaction. Instead they were focused on getting more and more money out of me towards a purchase they misrepresented. SDL took 2000GBP out of my card which I used to register on their website. They buyer fee was 1800GBP. still they insisted the buyer fee is outstanding as the 2000GBP was put towards the deposit of a purchase that should be cancelled. I understand I have forfeited the buyer fee by bidding on something. However it is deceitful they are using the 2000GBP towards the deposit and not towards the buyer fee. I would like the transaction cancelled and SDL should be honest about the property they are selling before it gets relisted.

Be aware of these peopleHad a very bad experience with SDL and I would like all to know what happened in March 2024. I called SDL TWICE trying to put my offer in for a property (to be auctioned on 27th of March). In both occasions, SDL closed door and said there will be no offer accepted and this property will go to the Auction on March 27th. They never mentioned that property could be sold prior to the auction.I received an email this morning to say Property is sold prior too the auction which shocked me. When I called to double check, they said that the other offers has been too good to be refused and property is sold prior to the AuctionI incurred cost to get solicitor check the auction pack plus builder to visit the building to provide their feedback. Valuable time wasted to visit property in two occasions as well.I considered this as an act of discrimination by DSL, who went against their words to me, accepting offer from others and giving no chance to me.This is hugely unprofessional and I am extremely disappointed.
