GoogleAvoid using this estate agents with regards to student housing. Terrible. With the exception of one individual, Alec, no-one seemed to know anything that was happening. We were promised a SMART meter (so our gas and electricity meter was always topped up) after months of never coming, we kept going into the agency and asking why. In short, nothing was ever done. Our house was a mess when we moved in. Sofa's, toilet, blinds, lights and beds were all broken or faulty. You won't see your full deposit back, we got charged for our back garden even though we never went in it and it was in the exact same state as when we got the property. One of my housemates received less than £20 deposit. Do not use these with regards to student housing.

GoogleDespite multiple daily phone calls and repetative emails, they will not give us back our deposits. Whilst staying at our last property they would frequently ignore our emails about fixing damages, which they had not even fixed before we moved in. We lived a year in a house that had damages and then they tried to charge us out of our deposits for these unfixed damages after our tenancy ended.
We keep being played ever day by being told "your deposit will be paid tomorrow". The other tenants have also been hung up on when they ask about the deposits. This is all convenient, as our deposit insurance ran out last week.
What we thought was a trust worthy estate agents for students, turns out to be a untrustworthy and unjust business. We are students, and that money they are holding onto is all we have to live on until the end of September.
If you're a student looking to rent with Berkeley, just be weary they are doing this.

GoogleAs a landlady I have used Berkley for all of my lettings. I have found them to be very professional and always happy to discuss any issues that I or my tenants have. Phone calls and emails are replied to promptly and the staff are polite and friendly. I would recommend them to anyone who has a property to rent.
As a family we also chose to use Berkley to sell our house. Again all of the staff were genuine, professional and more than happy to answer any question or query, however mundane. Selling a house and finding the right one to buy can be very stressful, but it never was with the staff at Berkley. It was like having our own personal team all of the way through the process.

GoogleAs a landlord, I have been with Berkley for 5 years now and rent out 2 houses through them. I have always found them to be professional and they have kept me advised of any of the tenants needs to which I have acted promptly. Some of the tenants have been delightful and some have left the houses in a less than satisfactory condition. Berkley have been very helpful in negotiating between the tenants and myself and do date, we have always achieved a satisfactory outcome. One of my initial problems was having been with an estate agent who robbed me (and many others) so trust needed to be built up. Berkley have proved to be very trustworthy and I have absolute confidence in them, certainly from the point of view of a landlord and I would also think from the point of view of a tenant. I would have no hesitation in recommending them.

YellNice and Easy
I loved the flat as soon as I saw it and Alec really went above and beyond to secure the property for us. Even giving us details about local car-parking and keeping us in the loop while we decided whether to put an application in. Any problems or confusion was solved almost instantly through very quick and responsive email. They made renting for the first time nice and easy and I would definitely recommend them.
