What more could you want from a lettings agents!

From start to finish my experience with Deu Estates was more than I could have wished for or expected. I rang to book in a viewing and was thoroughly helped and advised over the phone even through me asking a million and one questions! I received my confirmation text and met the team at the office for my viewings. We chatted along the way and I was made to feel really comfortable even though I was nervous about finding the right location with not a lot of time. The staff were all lovely and really keen to help in any way they could! I have now signed for a lovely house and have had all worries put aside and reassured. Would recommend them to both students and professionals! Thank you!

Utterly appalling. . They lied, they left our house covered in horrific amounts of dirt and grease and piles of rotting things from the last tenants without cleaning it up, and now they refuse to give us our deposit back even though we leave the house with no bills outstanding and can prove that to them, and the house is far, far cleaner than when we were given it by them. I urge anyone thinking of renting a house with them to look elsewhere.

We looked for a house through DEU and moved into a property which is in fact owned by them. I have now been living here for 6 months and hate it. Not only did we have to pay summer rent at full price (which they did not do for everyone) but we also had to pay £60 admin fees when signing (for no reason) and the deposit was a months rent which pushed the total to pay at once over £340. When we moved in the place was disgustingly dirty, the most that could have been done in preparation was sweeping the kitchen floor. Everywhere else there was grease and dirt (walls, cupboards, the bathroom was vile). Within the first few days we discovered that the wiring from the satellite to the TV (which we had to provide) was broken and the landlord refused to have anything to do with it. (Maybe its not his responsibility but we were never told that it was a problem and that it would cost a huge amount for it to be fixed - so we do not have a working tv.) Almost all of the double glazing units are classed as failed (there is condensation in-between the two panes of glass) and when I approached the landlord about this he claimed it makes no difference and he would do nothing about it. I even contacted double glazing companies to ask their opinion objectively and sent him an email with this information and I was ignored. Consequently this means the house is freezing and the heating has to be on pretty high to get it near warm. The living room is particularly cold and with no working tv and a damp problem is therefore never used. My room which is particularly cold as it has two exterior walls also has a severe damp problem which has not been sorted for the past three months (the landlord re-wallpaper claiming this would fix the problem) and I have now had to complain about this problem four times. The bathroom light has broken twice and the extractor fan in there is broken (we told the landlord about this and it was never fixed). The hob on the oven is very dodgy and the buttons on the oven have all fallen off. The furniture in the house is all very old and half of it has broken (2 dining chairs, a desk, a wardrobe, both sofas are horrible). If the landlord had dealt with any of these problems reasonably or at all I would be inclined to give a more positive review but frankly every time I have been in to speak to him he has been condescending and rude to me. When I have contacted them via email I don't always receive a reply and on numerous occasions people have come round to the house to deal with all the disrepair without us having any warning at all. Overall I have had an awful experience with this company and would not recommend them what so ever.

These people give the entire real estate profession a bad name. They are Unipol's most complained about agent in Leeds and under no circumstances should anyone let a house from them. My own experience with them (a number of years ago when I was a student), was abysmal: they called me a day after signing the contract to tell me they had made a mistake and the landlord had already let out the house without telling them. Being short of time and desperate I agreed to let them find me another property, and I ended up signing for a place that was in a bad state of repair. We agreed on certain repairs that were to be carried out in the one month interval before I returned to Leeds, but when I finally moved in none of those had been completed. Repair orders during my tenancy were never carried out, the agents passing us off to the landlord and the landlord always being impossible to reach due to travelling.Finally, roughly a month before my contract expired and 3 days before an important deadline, the landlord's brother burst into the house unannounced and without notice or permission and set out completely renovating the bathroom, which involved us having no running water while he was working and no use of the shower for a week! Deu Estates refused to do anything about it, and would not even pass a message along to the landlord (who was once again out of the country and his phone was off), and only when I threatened to get the police involved did they get the landlord to put off the work. They are dodgy, the landlords they deal with are dodgy, and I bet some of hte positive reviews on here are their sock puppets.
