I went to a viewing, waited for 20 minutes and they did not turn up. Rang up to complain and the guy said somebody had already taken the property based on photos (no viewing). The branch manager then called me to say this was wrong and a Bridgfords agent had been at the property when I was waiting. Totally inept and willing to lie.

The customer support was absolutely dreadful. The lady I spoke to was incredibly rude and simply hung up on me. I had called at 16:30 on 9/12/2025.

Bridgfords Denton team was extremely…

Bridgfords Denton team! 5*Denton branch team was extremely helpful, professional and pleasure to dealing with. They helped me to make my move to a new property within a couple of weeks and supported me throughout, including communication with all the suppliers. Megan was absolutely brilliant, she showed great support and care, professional approach in a timely manner. I would highly recommend.

I've never come across such an incompetent bunch of imbeciles in my whole landlording/tenanting life. If you're a prospective landlord and care about your reputation do not use these useless unemployable bunch of morons. My experience: (I already have a premonition that there is a majority of incapable estate agents out there as from my strong experience in renting my properties out, I was hoping a more national company would be better, these lot proved me wrong so I'd still stick with an online agent: but when you're a prospective tenant looking for a crash pad with your mates in Leeds you have no choice) So I was looking for an apartment to rent: I had found one on rightmove that I emailed directly via the advert I was interested in. The next morning the agent called to arrange a viewing but thought I was booking in with a different apartment so I had to correct him on the phone. When it got to the viewing they showed me the wrong apartment (the original one the guy thought I was booking in for EVEN THOUGH I HAD ALREADY CORRECTED HIM) but they didn't bring the keys also (a prudent estate agent would bring them anyway but these lot have an IQ of below 50) so I arranged to view the right apartment at 5pm the next day. The next day came and they said they had to rearrange as the current tenants wouldn't let us view it after 5. So i already said to them that this was becoming a joke. I went to the viewing at the rearranged time where there was another person also interested viewing it with me. When I got to the apartment I said I liked it and would pursue it (there was no sign of anyone living in the apartment as it was clinical without any sign of life so they lied about not being able to view the apartment after 5 [maybe they couldn't be bothered to work a little bit extra that day to get their commission]). After agreeing with the guy who viewed the apartment they said they would forward both offers to the landlord and let them decide on which prospective tenant to go with ( I knew I was the stronger out of both of us as I had a job) and they said they'd give me a call the next morning. Next morning came and no call, I called them in the afternoon to ask what was going on and they said they had tried to contact me, one reason was they had my wrong email (why couldn't they just reply to my initial enquiry from rightmove? Oh yeah they're brainless, I forgot) and secondly they tried to ring my mobile phone that they had already called me on but then lied about this as there was no such sign of a phone call from them. But however they let it to the other guy and missed out on 3 lots of commission, do they not like money or something? Landlords take your money elsewhere, prospective tenants: Don't bother with this brainless, unemployable, shower of *****

Absolutely rubbish service. It has been 5 months since i have moved out. I have had to chase and chase, sent multiple emails before getting one reply, sending multiple again and i get zilch. Made overseas calls to their agents and was informed that it would be sorted. 3 weeks after, still nothing, not a damn thing. I thought that i would be getting professional service given that they are a professional letting agency. What's the point of paying extra for such service?

Almost 3 months since I moved out of property, and I still haven't received my deposit back. Not to mention bad inspected flat I had to move into with dirt , mould and humidity. Agency did almost nothing to it and now they won't respond to my enquiries and request to repay my rightful deposit back. Even after I agree to be charged for 'dust' and some 'legal fees'. Don't use it even if you have to . Worst service and attitude , will try to rip you off for dust. Money you pay for them doesn't go far, they won't move a finger for you after you sign your agreement.

Avoid if you're buying a leasehold property. I received poor, slow service from start to finish, from being forced to see their in-house mortgage adviser upon submitting an offer, to having to chase single detail, from the offer itself to the service charge cost to receiving the lease from the seller. The completion date was then changed without a discussion. I had to threaten to pull out a few times as Bridgfords got nothing from the seller for 2 months! We ended up pulling out anyway once our solicitor had read the lease. Bridgfords basically wasted 2 months of our house-hunting time. I wish I'd known sooner that you can just get a copy of the lease off the Land Registry for £7! I'd urge you not to waste your time with Bridgfords Leeds.

If there was a zero star I would give that without thinking twice. I rented a property from bridgfords in June end and Hannah the manager in the location was in charge of the contract. The contract had couple of items missed out which I wanted to be corrected. She said she'll get it done but she wanted me to make the payment immediately on the phone. I said I'll make the payment in person next day but she said it has to be done immediately. I made the payment. 3 days later when I go to sign the contract the changes which I had asked for where not there in the contract. We were told to sign them anyways n amended contract will be done ASAP. After that I've sent 10 emails n 15 phone calls n this has not been done till now. Worst experience ever. Also to add the house was not cleaned before we moved it. We double checked with them before getting the keys. They said it's cleaned but it wasn't. They're only interested in getting the money pocketed. Service is zero. I'm sure they'll make a big fuzz with my deposit when I'm vacating the house. Would never rent a property with them ever.

The most shocking experience I've ever had with letting agents. I would give 0 if I could. Moved from London to Leeds and booked to view several properties with them two weeks in advance. Tried to confirm the day before and had no response. On the day of viewings having travelled from London I was told that no one had informed the tenants of the viewings so I could not see any of the properties I had paid £132 train fare to come and see. Despite this I stupidly later rented with them anyway. They didn't keep track of anything so on my move in day the previous tenant had over stayed and was still in the property! He had to be hastily kicked out as I had nowhere to go and had my things coming later that day. A number of issues with the property I reported were never dealt with and I had to call everyday to make sure someone came after my washing machine broke. I've now moved out of the property a month ago, again despite me giving appropriate notice they forgot I was moving out and I had to contact them to tell them. I that time I have called every week requesting details of when I will get my deposit back and any disputes that need to be brought to my attention. They have failed to return any of my calls and are now saying there is a problem with the boiler but have failed to provide the photographic evidence I requested. After reading some of the reviews here about deposits I'm now going to bypass them and go straight to disputes department with my deposit protection agency because this company is a total joke. If they were renting a palace for peanuts I would never deal with them again it's just not worth the stres and I will be filing a formal complaint.

Would thoroughly recommend using Bridgfords Leeds. We used them to help us get a mortgage for our first property last year. We found them to be very professional and helpful throughout - they made the process incredibly simple, they did all the paper work for us, all we had to do was sign the papers! They even allowed us to meet after 5pm on workdays on occasions, which was great for us as we both work full time. As with most we considered getting a mortgage ourselves and to use that money to put towards our house, however, their services were definitely worth the money as they provided lots of advice and told us things we wouldn't have known otherwise. Would recommend using a broker, particularly if you are first time buyer.

I would highly recommend Bridgfords as a letting agent! My experience with them has been utterly positive. They provide highly professional service, and their friendly and customer-oriented attitude just made the whole process so much easier than I expected it to be. I have to say I was struck by the speed they were able to complete all the paperwork and referencing - it basically took only a week from the day I viewed the property to the day I signed the contract and collected the keys from my new flat. Their support goes beyond the move in date and they are facilitating contact with the landlord and/or building care taker when needed. Overall, I am really satisfied with the service and would definitely approach them again should I need similar assistance in the future.

Terrible communication!

Terrible agency in Leeds!! Terrible communication!!!Been booked for viewing, saying tenant not free and postpone to next day. And then next day no show again, when I call they said tenant not free again and need to postpone to the next day again.. on the 3rd day once again they cancelled my viewing saying the property was taken.. without telling.I do understand flat/house goes fast, the problem is they are time wasters and never notice u when situation changed! All three days i have to find out myself the viewing booking was cancelled..... I do not live in city center and need to spend time and money to travel to viewing.. and the staff who pick up the phone is really rude and unprofessional! They have so many excuses.Luckily we didn't work with them i guess. If we did rent from them, can't imagine how disaster it will be. Be ware of!!!

STACEY COLEMAN IS FAB! I saw a lot of Stacey in my recent house/flat hunt and she's incredible. Stacey takes a buyer centered approach, gets to know you and find out exactly what you're looking for and helps you to find your dream property. I was so impressed by Stacey's professionalism and personal approach that I've since recommended her to other sellers, as she's a wizz at matching the right person with the right home.

RE Leeds Branch: Even if your dream house is listed through these idiots, avoid them at all costs. £300 rip off letting fee, zero responses to emails, no returned phone calls. Rude service. Absolutely shambolic how a brand and business can be run like this. I cannot stress enough how critical your avoidance should be. Do not bother yourself with their sheer uselessness. I moved out weeks ago and have heard nothing about my bond, nobody can reply to an email. Absolutely disgraceful. AVOID.

Dear Mrs Burgess, Thank you for your feedback but I am genuinely sorry to hear that you do not feel we handled your deposit return as quick as you had hoped for. I can see from the system we were in a position to return you deposit to you less that 3 weeks after you vacated the apartment. We have to ensure we have all parties full agreement when it comes to returning a deposit as the deposit is protected by MyDeposits, we must have all tenants and landlords written agreement and this can something take a while to obtain. I am happy to be able to confirm you should now have received your deposit back but if there is anything I can do to help or assist in the future please do not hesitate to contact me.

Absolutely disgusting service! Their fees are extortionate which is fine because no one is forcing you to use them, however, you expect a bit of professionalism once you're in bed with them. They charged us extortionate amounts for cleaning (even though we cleaned the house spotless just to avoid this), for 10 light bulbs (were we living in the dark whilst there?), and "dilapidation fees". To make matters worse, they went back on their word that they would not charge me for broken oven door "as it was not my fault - regular occurrence due to screws loosening when oven is periodically cleaned" and proceeded to charge me £185 for it. Avoid at all costs - many nice flats in Leeds with better agents out there.

Dear Rene, I am really sorry to read your comments, its always disappointing to hear that any of our tenants are not happy with the service they have received from us. We only ever propose fair bond deductions based on a photographic report produced at a check out. From what i can see you agreed to the cleaning cost and replacement bulbs. With regards to the oven door this went to independent adjudicator through MyDeposits and they awarded an amount to us that was in line with their own policy. I would of course be happy to discuss any of this further you, my direct dial is 0113234411.

My name will be known, and as a tenant- it shouldn't be for the wrong reasons. For those smart enough to check reviews of an estate agency before working with them, please read on... Bridgford's are incapable, unprofessional, poor listeners, untrustworthy, slow, in many forms misleading (saying the property had free parking was one of the many many issues we have had). When we first strolled into this agency, we were shown the property to rent, lovely but needed a lot of cleaning and venting out. This was done to a reasonable standard however... the customer service throughout the whole joining process was so very, very poor. We were initially set to deal with one staff member, only to be passed onto at least three others. I'm not rude enough to start naming you, but the headless chickens know who they are... When trying to reach someone, you are promised a call back or an email. Nothing happens... you call again... nothing is dealt with... and again... and again... They charge exceptionally high fees, to which you expect a very good level of service- but you don't get that. You get unprofessional emails, some in which aren't even full structured sentences, only full of gibberish. I had hoped they would redeem themselves after pathetically discounting us a small fee back after delaying our move in because it took them 4 solid days to do some small painting and replacing of lightbulbs. This discount of two days rent took over TWO WEEKS to get back and it was pure hassling of them to send it. AVOID. P.S- I look forward to moving out eventually and of course, hearing of some ridiculous reason to hold a quarter of our deposit no doubt, in which will follow with a court proceeding.

Basically just incompetent. Viewings and contracts get set up promptly then once they have your money they provide zero support. Flat had not been remotely cleaned when we moved in, still hair and mould all over the place. Also the most expensive agents fees of anyone i've seen. I called at least 20 times over the course of my tenancy because of problems, almost everytime the one person who could deal with the problem was not available and everytime I was offered a call back which never materialised. Pipes flooded the kitchen and they didn't care at all. When we checked out they charged us £40 to replace 3 light bulbs and £70 to hoover the place (we didn't have a hoover). Agreed to all this so that we would get our deposit back but no they couldn't get in touch with the landlord and therefore would not release the deposit to us even though they had inspected the property and we had agreed immediately to the charges they raised. Had to raise a dispute with the DPS and took 3 months to get our deposit back. They control a lot of the decent properties in Leeds though so good luck avoiding them.

Patrick · 14 June 2017

Agent replied · 12 June 2024

Dear Patrick, I am sorry to read your recent review regarding the experience you have had renting with us last year. We take all maintenance reported seriously, especially something such as flood and I can see we attended to this when it was reported to us. If you would like to chat through this is more detail I would be really happy to do so at anytime convenient to you. With regards to a deposit release we are unable to instruct DPS or MyDeposits to release a deposit without all parties written agreement, this is to protect all parties and to ensure nothing is deducted from a deposit without full consent. The advice we would give if we cannot get agreement from all parties is to raise a formal dispute with the appropriate deposit scheme. Please feel free to contact me on 01132006355 if you wish to discuss anything further, I am always happy to hear from a tenant.

Myself and my fiancee rented an apartment at clarence dock for 3 years through Bridgfords. I read a few questionable reviews on their service but chose to ignore them. I am glad I did. I can honestly say we did not have one problem with them, I had a few problems with the flat such as the boiler ( a new one was fitted within 2 days), fridge freezer (a new one was fitted within 2 days), flooring issues in the living room (brand new floor fitted) etc. every issue was resolved without a fuss. When it came to checking out we were given a helpful resume of what we needed to do etc, that was completed and was informed last week (4 days after leaving ) that our deposit was on its way back to us in full ! The staff including Nathaniel, Gabby,Rebecca and Emma have been extremely helpful and friendly. I would certainly recommend Bridgfords to family and friends.

Asked for essential maintenance doing on the property at the start of May and still waiting to have it carried out even now. Been in the property 2 and a half years and they couldn't care less. Their property managers are useless and we are having to resort to stopping paying our rent after seeking out legal advice. I called yesterday to tell them that I would be withholding my rent payments and the property manager promised to email with the date a contractor would come and do the work confirmed by the landlord. This never arrived. I have also asked 3 times what the intended works are. Avoid Bridgfords at all costs, if you go into their office in Leeds you can see they are staffed by young incompetent people.

Very poor service all round, cancelled the first viewing of the property while we were waiting outside for them, should have taken that as a sign of things to come. Was advised on viewing that several issues with the property would be fixed before moving in, none of which were even communicated to the landlord or fixed. Went through with the let and on the day of the move-in the check-in was moved back twice. Went to the office to check-in and noticed the inventory stated mold in bedrooms, bathrooms etc. Was assured the property had been cleaned, this was not the case, significant mold in both bathrooms and bedrooms. Was told the incorrect parking space not once but twice! The second time a car was in the space and the member of staff's suggestion for resolving the issue was 'leave a note on the windshield'! Spoke to the owner the next day who advised of the correct space, nice work Bridgfords! One of the basic functions of a letting agent is providing a full set of keys, unfortunately this is a bit beyond Bridgfords so please do not expect access to your post box when you move in. Given the exorbitant fees they charge (£600) you would expect a reasonable level of service, unfortunately they rank as one of the worst letting agents I have ever used in 12 years of renting. Avoid, avoid, avoid. Edit following response, if significant mold and dust is clean then I dread to think what your house looks like. Disgusting and a health hazard, I have the photos if you would like proof of how appalling your standards are? Re the maintenance, the landlord confirmed you had not advised him of any of the issues and hadn't provided him with a copy of the inventory (which was only completed the day we moved in) so how could he make any repairs?!?!?!?! Re the keys, he confirmed you lost the spare set and he had to get another set from the property managers! The parking space farce speaks for itself. Forgot to cover on my original review that one of the storage cupboards in the flat was packed to brim with crap the day we moved in, I have photos of the mountain of crap I had to sift through, nice work again. You didn't respond re cancelling the viewing while we were outside or cancelling our move in time twice, I wonder why... I'll state again for anyone thinking of using Bridgfords, avoid avoid avoid.

Chris · 14 June 2017

Agent replied · 12 June 2024

Dear Chris, thank you for your feedback and I am sorry to hear your move in didn’t go well and there was some confusion with keys and your parking space. I hope this is now resolved but if there is anything I can do to help then of course I would be more than happy to do what I can. I can see from our system the landlord manages this property himself, this means the landlord would undertake any maintenance himself. I can see a clean was undertaken before you moved in as your landlord has asked us to have the property cleaned for your move in. Again with keys for the property, as we don’t manage this apartment, we will handover all keys given to us by the landlord. I am sorry things didn’t run smoothly on your day of move in and as I have already said if there is anything I can do to help then please let me know.
