GoogleCan't recommend using bridgfords as a letting agent. Took us over 8 weeks to get our deposit back as our property needed a light clean. They held onto over £1200 of our money until the landlord responded to them which took months. Couldn't get through to them on the phone and would receive an email response 7-14 days after making contact each time. Poor quality of procedures in place and little consideration for giving tenants their deposits back within the usual 10 day timeframe.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality

GoogleI have updated my review from a 1 star to 4 stars. After leaving earlier review the team got in touch to correct the mistakes and they are much more responsive even responding outside of working hours. I have now viewed many properties with Bridgefords (previously was difficult to get a response) and each time has been organised very easily. Sadly I haven't found exactly what I'm looking for but I have quite difficult wants so that's not the fault of Bridgefords. They have the most variety of apartments and price them well for the market - although some reductions on unlet properties it's not as drastic as other agents who market a £850pcm apartment at £1200 and then eventually reduce it down. Bridgefords seem to be marketing their properties fairly and reasonably priced.NegativeResponsiveness, Professionalism

GoogleI am a current tenant at Bridgfords and due to move out in July. I am left feeling relieved that I no longer have to deal with this letting agents again, to put it kindly.
My move in was delayed a week and half due to the legal electrical checks not being completed in time between the previous tenant to me moving in (which was apparently more than a week). Not mentioning that they only decided to tell me this when I was 10 minutes away in my car. I was left stranded so had to sleep at my parents house on a sofa with all my belongings in several cars overnight for the whole time I was left practically homeless.
I had to keep ringing them to chase this during the time I was sofa surfing to find out the updates on when the electrical works had been booked in so I had a new date of move-in. A new date was confirmed finally, so I moved (again) but within a few days I could see issues with the property which I quite simply couldn’t be bothered raising because I was exasperated with complaining.
The paint on the walls were discoloured and stained in places, they said a deep clean would be made prior to my move in but this was definitely not fulfilled because there was dust everywhere and marks on the kitchen cupboards and all inside, and this was during COVID, may I add. Additionally, my patio doors leak when it rains (still ongoing with property management).
I’ve read all the previous reviews about the deposits being held far too long or money being taken from them due to paint not up to standard, which in turn has made me worry about when I do move out. Am I going to get tarnished with the paint problems or get money taken from me when the issues were here from day 1? Or will they keep hold of my money for months until they are happy to give it back because I’m not going to fully deep clean it? ... Yes, i’m going to clean but not to a deep clean standard.
To make matters worse, every time I’ve conversed with the Bridgfords team (thats if they ever picked up the phone after multiple attempts), they would rush the call because ‘they’ve been busy’ (in their words), they would seem disinterested and quite simply careless. But all this makes sense because I’d be the same if all the reviews were bad like I’ve been reading!
I’m not even over-exaggerating this either. This is exactly how it is. I’ve not dealt with 1 single happy or helpful person who comes across like they want to help. They all seem too busy and as if you’re not important.
My future searches for properties will be held in a very sensitive way, and I will be very cautious when I see Bridgfords as a letting agent for a property. I will make every effort to avoid them, and I think you should too.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Value

GoogleWould avoid at all costs if you are a tennant.
Myself and my flatmate were left with a flat covered in human waste after a soil pipe burst for over a month and Bridgfords took no action to resolve despite us continously explaining what was wrong they told us more than once it was just a shower leak and the issue was resolved. The building manager (external to Bridgfords) managed to sort the issue or I'd imagine it would have taken even longer to resolve. The landlors refused to change the carper which had waste on and Bridgfords response was that there was nothing they can do and we will have to live with it.
Having now moved out it has taken 4 months to receive any sort of response to getting our deposit back. We have received charges to replace freezer drawers which aren't on the inventory and now that we have challenged this they are again not responding. We have had to chase every single issue over our 4 year tenancy the only time the company was proactive in any way was when there were charges we had to pay due to a small fire in the kitchen. At no point after the fire did they check on our well being with the initial call just to tell us we were liable for the costs of repair.
Probably a great company if you're a landlord as they will make sure they retrieve your money (we had no issue paying the costs although when requesting an itemised invoice we have still not been provided with one) but if you can avoid it as a tennant I would look at every other company before these.

GoogleFor the second time in our 2 1/2 tenancy with Bridgfords we have reported emergency plumbing repairs that have taken DAYS to even get a real response on. We are on our third day of regularly changing buckets to stem the flow of dirty water into our flat and we've had no update in over 24 hrs about arranging for a plumber. We can't even leave the flat for fear of the kitchen and lounge flooding and damaging the property that Bridgfords are supposed to be managing. An absolute liability to any property left in their hands.

GoogleMy husband and I would love the share our experience so far when it comes to Bridgfords Estate Agents Leeds.
We are currently in the process of buying our first home and its exciting. we both thought the process would be scary, chaotic and intimidating but, with Bridgford that simply isn't the case. The staff at Bridgford have been amazing not just in service given but with patience.
They explain everything in full detail no matter how trivial the questions will be. We are kept informed and updated on every step of the way which is amazing.
It is refreshing knowing that the service we are receiving is genuine and helpful, as you don't really get that these days. Would we recommend this company? YES! as they work hard helping you in achieving your dream home.

GoogleAvoid at all costs if you are a tenant. You will notice the majority of the positive reviews are from landlords as tenants are treated terribly.
Accused me of not paying rent (when I had done) and hounded me relentlessly for weeks over this until they eventually found it.
When you try to call they very rarely answer and when they do are generally rude and dismissive. If you do need to call I would advise choosing the phone option that says you are a landlord or looking to sell as this seems to be answered much more rapidly.
I paid over £20k in rent and went out of my way to keep the flat in good condition, only for the landlord to charge extortionate cleaning and repair fees for things that were already spotless or were not damaged when I moved out.
It also took almost 6 weeks for the landlord to outline the deductions from the deposit which is a breach of the deposit scheme agreement.
They are happy to spend weeks sitting on your deposit and ignoring your emails when you ask for it back as they know most of us who are renting aren't fortunate enough to be able to survive without that money for very long and will eventually have to give in to their outrageous demands.
My emails to the property manager would go many weeks unanswered or just ignored altogether.
Also the property descriptions need to be taken with a pinch of salt. Our 'south facing balcony perfect for sunny evenings' was perfectly north facing and overlooked getting no sunshine at all.
Their only priority is rent being paid to landlords and I would stay well away if you are looking to rent.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality

GoogleI had my first experience of letting a flat with Bridgfords over the last year and all I have to say is positives! From the moment we signed for our flat to the moment we moved out they were extremely helpful. They set us up with a bill organising company which meant when we moved in all of our bills were already sorted and the move was absolutely seem less. Whenever we had a query over our time as tenants they were more than willing to help us, whenever we rang them with any issues they were more than happy to help and made us feel more than welcome. Overall, I just couldn’t recommend Bridgfords enough, they will cater to your every need and make your home feel even more homely if that’s even possible!

This is a great agency: they put us in touch with our new landlords and were very helpful every step of the way (special thanks to Ash!). They were always easy to reach, responsive and polite. When we arrived at the new place we had a lovely welcome pack waiting for us. Thanks for everything, Bridgfords!

GoogleCompletely useless. They were keen to get the business, but repeatedly dropped the ball once they had it. Got so frustrated that we changed to another agent - Bridgfords stopped corresponding altogether once they were informed. It’s impossible to get anything done with them and they don’t seem to communicate internally. I would urge you to look elsewhere (unless you really enjoy stress).

TrustpilotAwful service and expensive fees. Landlords should use someone else.
Been with Bridgfords for a few months and cant really give positive feedback back on any part of their service. They are slow to respond, aggressive and generally useless. Their service centre is completely separate from the lettings team which results on breakdown in communication and poor service. They are great at selling their service to entice you in then run a mile once you are signed up.

They will call you in and tell you to speak to their mortgage advisor who then tells you that he can get you the property if you sign up with them for £660+ non refundable, he will use their own solicitors too. My wife and I asked what about the other bidders and he said, the vendor won’t see those bids don’t worry. This is completely illegal and we walked away, he then said you are willing to walk away from this deal and get outbid. I said yes I would rather lose out on 20k than give you one penny. It’s kickbacks galore in that place and we know full well we will now not get that property. I would love to speak to the person selling the house but they have moved abroad and left these clowns in charge.
