Appalling Service - Avoid at all costs

I got a call out of the blue about seven months ago from someone called Cory from a company called Bettermove (should be Worsemove). He said that he was aware our house had been on the market for quite a while and asked if we'd had many viewings (which to be honest, we hadn't). He then went on to explain that it was because of Brexit and people were not prepared to make a house purchase because of uncertainty in the market.He then explained that more and more people were renting properties and he could help us out, as Bettermove had a pool of investors that purchased properties like ours, for rental in our area and if we went with them, we would be looking at a sale within a couple of weeks. Falling for this crap, I signed up and six months later, £1200 worse off, no viewers, no sale, absolutely terrible customer service and contract is up.I wish I had seen Trustpilot reviews before signing up with this bunch. Don't be gullible in believing they have a pool of investors, they don't.DO NOT SELL YOUR HOUSE WITH THESE MUPPETS!

Please do not have anything to do with…

Please do not have anything to do with this company if you have any sense ... I was approached by them to sell my property I was told they could sell my property within days as there was lots of interest... hmmm I was rushed through to click on there site while I was still on the phone to them asked to sign something I didn't fully read only for them to take money from my account which I never authorized. I then had several phone calls because I was given the wrong information by one of there team they didn't refund all the money they took ... I then emailed and spoke to them cancelled my subscription 2 days later as we were not selling anymore due to personal reasons..now to be told I'm still liable for 1.200 pounds. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE

Communication could be improved

Communication could be improved. The Solicitors that we had to use as part of the contract were not very good so I would recommend other choices of lawyers.Mainly communication problems resulted in very long delays and weeks between replies.

Avoid this company

Avoid this companyDespite having cancelled with Bettermove within 14 days, they have not cancelled my payments with Dividebuy, which is their duty, and consequently monthly payments STILL continue to be taken from my account.I have made numerous attempts to contact Bettermove, and despite receiving emails from Julia, saying she would try and get the matter resolved, it appears that she has not cancelled with Dividebuy, and nobody is contacting me to let me know what is happening.To date, I am owed £198.99 and if I find out that a further payment is made, then I will have no alternative but to take legal action.DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH BETTERMOVE.

I was promised that my property will be sold within 2 weeks since they "claimed" to have alot of investors on their books, was even told they where waiting for offers to come in and this never happened. I had one viewing from a couple who hadn’t even put there own property up for sale so complete waste of time. I had my doubts before signing-up but gave them benefit of doubt but we're totally disappointed This company are more interested in getting your money rather helping with sale of your property. which I must point out is done via a credit agreement over 12 months so if they don’t sell it or you withdraw it you still have have to pay. I have had a number of conversations with them including management who are completely unhelpful and all they say is you still have to pay. I have now withdrawn my property from Bettermove. Anyone thinking of using these people steer clear.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

I would not give a star, but it is impossible not to do so! This must be the worst company I have ever dealt with! Agreed with a director Adam Burge to a 3month period with the company, selling 2 houses. Adam assured me there were investors being lined up who were interested in buying.The brochures were taken from my postings with Your Move, so no additional work has been carried out! Well after 3 months and the only contact being to agree the so called brochures, and a call just prior to the next months money being due there has been no contact........! and NOT one possibility. Now having agreed to the 3 month period, I cannot speak with Mr Burge, have had conversations with the account manager and her manager, been threatened with a bad credit standing twice, if I do not continue to pay for something which I did not agree to with the director. The houses were withdrawn on Monday 28/10, and the fee is paid up to the 14/11, so that’s fair. Do NOT USE THIS COMPANY

I was approached by this company in June 2019 about the sale of my property "dont even know how/where my personal details was gotten from", I was promised that my property will be sold within 2 weeks since they "claimed" to have alot of investors on their books....fast forward after 4 months, I've never had a single viewing. We had our doubts before signing-up but gave them benefits of doubt but we're totally disappointed This company are more interested in getting your money rather helping with sale of your property. Awful customer service

During the 14day cooling off period the service was good, but also during this time my partner and I had a change of heart and decided to come off the market. The following month a payment was taken out of our account. When attempting to get this back (4 calls a day for over a week) we are constantly told we will receive a call back and that the dept we need doesnt accept calls only emails which we have also sent. Still waiting refund and response.

Easy process with minimum effort required from the the Seller

Although the process took longer than expected (through no fault of bettermove) we were kept informed and when we needed a date to be hit they pushed to get the deal done on our deadline date. Couldn't really have asked for anymore. Overall the process required minimum effort from us and bettermove were always available if we had any concerns.

Not one single viewing but still had to pay :(

I signed up with theses guys when they contacted me to say they had somone interested in my property. After changing my mind in the cooling off period, due to this supposed interested party not materialising, I advised I was going to cancel. I was again persuaded that they had several people interested right now, and so did not cancel. As time went on it became apparent that no activity was happening. In 6 months there was not one viewing arranged, despite a local estate agent arranging frequent viewings each week and eventually selling the property. I was lied too, as it seemed they never had anyone interested and didn’t seem to be doing anything to sell my property. They never even visited it, and used the photos from the local estate agents. When I complained I was fobbed off. My complaint was never escalated to a senior person. The message seemed to be that once they had my money there was nothing I could do. I’m now reporting them to the ICO and escalating the complaint to the ombudsman. Please be warned from this experience.

Sold my house in 6 days

Sold my house in 6 days! I was approached by Adam Barge out of the blue as he had interest from an investor. I wasn’t happy about paying up front but apparently a few modern estate agents charge this way now. Anyway I listed with them and was blown away when the sales office managed to get me full value of my home within 6 days. The sale went through without any delays and the progression office were a delight to deal with. I saved a fortune in commission too. I would highly recommend Bettermove to anyone. Top class outfit

Not impressed at all with this company

Not impressed at all with this company. At no point were we told that there was a 14 day cooling off period, or that we would have to pay UPFRONT and for what absolutely NOTHING. Every time I called to speak to Claire I was told either not in the office and would call me back. Did this happen NO I had to chase and call back. I was not impressed either to have a phone call 15 minutes before 1 viewing should of taken place at the weekend that this was not happening and neither was the other one. After we had cancelled our plans for going away I was really cross and we have never had any viewings or any calls to say how things were going. Seems to me that once they have you on their books that is it. We were also told by Corey, we have Investors on our books and hope to have an offer given to you within 2 weeks. Don't make assumptions that you can't keep. We have now withdrawn our property from Bettermove. Anyone thinking of using these people DONT bother. Yvonne and Martin Labrum

AVOID! After very convincing sales pitch...

Avoid!! Updated After very convincing sales pitch I decided i would give them ago but when i read the small print I realised I would be under obligation to pay THEM if I instructed another agent! So I Did not sign & rang straight back to request refund 4 months later 20+ emails countless calls to customer services auto replays only & still No Refund!! Have now referred to TPOS ..estate agents ombudman so fingers crossed for my money back soon.

Don’t trust these people.

I have a very good friend who suffers from fibromyalgia, her experience with these people has exacerbated her symptoms. Her contract consisted of a sales telephone conversation, no contract was provided to sign, the following day she cancelled having paid these people £500 (there is allegedly a 14 day cooling off period).Almost four months later, she is still trying to have her £500 refunded. Fortunately I have the address of these people, it would seem as though I shall have to pay them a visit.

BetterMove BetterLose. Avoid. Sold too cheaply

Contacted them to request viewing for property. Was told straight away that I was not the kind of buyer the seller was looking for, seller was looking for cash buyer and not one who needed mortgage. So my request was never booked. Property I asked about did sell, to another buyer who needed a mortgage. I could have paid another 40K above the final sold price.Update, after posting my review they tried to have my review removed. Looking through past reviews they tried to remove all bad reviews but leave the good reviews.

If I could give no stars I would.

If I could give no stars I would.This company took the best part of £1000 from us and did nothing in return.They valued the house at £550,000, yet never came to view it, and promised us a quick sale based on the property’s uniqueness.They also claimed to have a panel of investors interested in properties like ours.It seemed like a good deal all round.Once we’d signed the paperwork (digital, online) we heard nothing. They refused our calls and our contacts were either sick, on leave or had left.These people appear to be crooks. They get their money immediately from a finance company and we pay The finance company. Therefore Bettermove are removed from the line of fire because the debt has been passed on.We contacted the finance company for help but after 12 weeks they said they couldn’t do anything. Surprise Surprise.We have never had any viewings from Bettermove and, on last occasion I actually got through to them they seem totally disinterested in our plight.Why should they be interested; they’ve found other mugs to extract money from without doing any work.Take my advice and Steer well clear of this crowd!
