Alex McMahon at the Rawtenstall office was exceptional throughout our house sale & purchase. We were selling via another agent, but this didn't stop Alex. Her customer service was first class, doing exactly what she said she would. Our chain was long; The process lasted over a year and, at times, was extremely difficult and frustrating. Feeling let down with this Company. So many things to write about it has already caused me Stress and Anxiety just thinking about it Had an apology this morning at 08:21 from Head Office on the phone. Then again by the Manager of the Branch at 08:29, but excuses too much. Got a meeting with the Assistant Manager on Tues 22 Nov at 11am I am going to make a formal complaint to the Head Office via email to the Director / Head of the Sales Team Totally bemused at the lack of communication and on this occasion lack of Compitence they showed....and lack of admittance without all the excuses that followed in the conversation. I stated that we were Considering changing Estate Agents and I was told by the Manager " 30 days notice", where I added you have failed at the level of Service, only to be told.... now get this " A Contract is a Contract is a Contract". I stated it works both ways and you failed so you have failed your side of the Contract "

Quick engagement from initial enquiry to getting the house on the market . I was kept informed of all viewings and offers .There was a lull during the Xmas period which gave a couple of issues but they onboarded a move manager Geraldine Marsden who chased and kept me up to date every couple of days . Would use again.

Selling and moving house for most people (beyond the actual ‘moving day’!) is seen as a progression forward and ultimately a happy time. For a small few like our family, leaving our home was the end of an era, tinged with sadness. From the moment we met Catherine, Megan and the team, they greeted us with warmth, understanding, patience and professionalism. A particularly drawn out process - which was purely down to our changing situation - was at every step dealt with impeccably. At times, I’m very aware, we were not the ‘easiest’ but the whole team kept comms clear, expectations met and the approach personable.As a family, we cannot thank them enough for their services and in times of need - good humour.

GoogleCouldn’t fault this team, even if I wanted to. Simply put, they get the job done. Kyra was a pleasure to work with and made our first home purchase easy and stress free in all aspects within her control. Any time where I was unable to get through to Kyra on the first attempt (which was not often) the rest of the team always seemed to have the time to help and on no occasion did I feel like I was being rushed off the phone. In the future when I’m looking to sell, Martin Thornton will be my first choice.

GoogleWe just bought a house through Martin Thornton. The purchase took an exceptionally long time, but Kyra was outstanding in her role. Professional, courteous, kind, and very effective. Kyra always took the time to reply to every single one of my queries, and kept me up to date with progress throughout. Kyra even went the extra mile to encourage positive thinking during some stressful moments, and my son certainly appreciated the cookie treat when we went to pick up the keys! We won't hesitate to use Martin Thornton for any future sales.

We had regular emails as soon as any property meeting our criteria came on the market, and when we found our home and the offer was accepted they wasted no time in arranging a mortgage advisor and solicitor for us. Everything went smoothly throughout, we are very happy! Many thanks to Elisha who we dealt with mainly, however all members of staff we had contact with were very friendly and helpful.

GoogleReally friendly and helpful staff. My first relation with this estate agency was in 2018, when I was looking to rent a house unfortunately I went with another nasty company. But when I decided to sell my new house I called them directly and I didn't fail! For sure the best decision ever, the staff is really friendly, helpful and professional. I sold my home with Martin Thornton (dealing with Elisha and Kyra sometimes). Elisha was brilliant, she help me through all my sale being really patient considering that English wasn't my first language. Elisha made my sale stress free even when I was abroad. Thanks a lot!

GoogleBrilliant experience with Martin Thornton. When we were looking for a larger house, Martin Thornton was incredible. They recognised me whenever I called them, and got in touch via email as soon as there was a new Property on the market that aligned with our requirements. Even though we weren’t their clients when we were looking at houses, they’ve always provided top notch service - polite, positive, respectful! When my husband sold his property, we went with Martin Thornton. The process went smoothly, we received regular updates, absolutely no complaints. My only gripe is that the house we ended up buying wasn’t advertised by Martin Thornton! There is a clear reason why they are the top rated Estate Agents in Huddersfield, with the highest number of positive reviews. Just go with them.

It wasn’t the easiest of sales but she went above and beyond after the sale to help the buyers and ourselves get everything completed and kept us reassured and up to date.
