Three words - don’t do it

We listed our house with foxtons and the service has been abysmal. There’s been next to no effort or movement with trying to sell the house, no communications with any options etc. You get an account online which shows upcoming viewings - almost all viewings ‘booked’ haven’t actually happened and they don’t contact us to confirm it either. You expect a lot from an estate agent with their level of commission - dont bother.

I want to start by saying thank you so much for all of the hard work Ingrid has put in from our first conversation a couple of weeks ago, From the day i received the email from Ingrid regarding the property that came up fitting all my requirements Ingrid has been absolutely amazing myself and children have had a very stressful hard and difficult time the past 19 weeks but after dealing with Ingrid for such a short space of time Ingrid achieved and helped us more then anyone has whilst going through this struggles as soon as he started helping us start the procedure he has done absolutely everything in his power to make sure me and my Famliy not only got our property but also helped with everything else that needed to be done alongside application and I honestly can’t thank him enough. Working with Chris has been a pleasure. I met a number of agents and by far, he stood out as very professional, an excellent communicator and 100% dependable. He’s sincere, and won’t leave you hanging. He’s been a rock throughout the process that had some curves in the road. Elle provided a fantastic service from beginning to end. I was dealing with a multitude of estate agents and Elle shone above them all. She went over & above her role as an estate agent. She understood what I was looking for and didn’t waste my time in any way. She arranged viewings quickly and was always punctual. This bad for landlords because they get poor management, bad for tenants because they get poor representation, and bad for the industry because estate / letting agents are no longer accountable.

We had a very easy and quick experience working with Shanice-Chanel. I was available for one afternoon to secure a short term let and she was quick to provide options, additional details, answer questions via email, whatsapp and phone, and she provided paperwork guidance. I tried working with other Foxtons agents for nearly 3 months, and none were as responsive as she was. Some went missing entirely when I had questions. She was a great help, highly recommended!

Do not rent through Foxtons

If you are a renter, please do not use Foxtons. They are a scammy horrible company that only serves the interests of the landlord. They rented us an overpriced disgusting dump by using old out-of-date photos in the rental ad, and locked us into an abusively restrictive contract that made it impossible to leave the horrible dump that ruined my mental health. Do yourself a favour and stay away from these money hungry scammers.

Extremely poor experience with Foxtons. We were left without proper cooking facilities for 25 days, which had a major impact on our daily life and forced us to spend extra money on food. A functioning cooker is a basic part of any home, yet this was not handled with the urgency it deserved.

Foxtons sold our one bed flat in Islington in early 2024 and we could not have been more happy with the service. They moved exceptionally quickly and at one point there were five different agents showing prospective buyers the house. We sold for £30k more than what we were expecting and I’m sure this was due to all the work of Foxtons staff. We were particularly happy with Niel and Elle for their work at the beginning and end of the process in making it all happen.
