I’ve experienced a lot of different estate agencies, and I can honestly say Beresfords have given me the best experience to date. They have communicated really well with me throughout my two year tenancy, and always show up on time. They liaise quickly with the landlord and never kept me waiting around to know the plan for any repairs that needed to be carried out, and are generally really on the ball. All the staff that visited for home inspections were always respectful and had a friendly demeanor.

Beresfords have been really helpful in supporting me to find rented accommodation. They were always friendly whenever I spoke to any members of the team. They answered any questions I may have and responses from the team were always prompt. They sent me lots of suggested properties prior to being posted on right move which meant I could book a viewing quickly. They were knowledgeable about the properties that I viewed and provided all information clearly. Confirmation emails of the time and place of viewings were also really helpful and prompt. Lauren in particular was helpful, friendly and always put me at ease. I have been really impressed by the service that Beresfords have provided, particularly when I compare this with other estate agents that I have dealt with. Thank you for all your time.

I have amended this review to 3 stars since originally posting due to my experience after moving in and requesting to make decorative changes which Beresfords want to charge £60 to cover ‘administration’, never have I had to pay to get the landlord’s consent for changes and the tenancy agreement does not explicitly state that a charge will be made if changes are requested and we were not told this either when we said we would like to make some changes when we collected the keys. Original review Very easy to deal with. Almost all communication was by email and replies were prompt. The process of renting through Beresfords was very simple. Would highly recommend.
Hi MichaelHaving read the contents of your updated review, I wanted to reply to you personally.Firstly, whenever we negotiate a new transaction, during the process we ask every tenant if there are any specific requests or changes that they would like to make to the property, as this is normally agreed as part of the contract. Having reviewed your individual file, it is clear that at the time you did not request that any changes be made. Shortly after moving into the property, I understand that you have made a number of requests for changes and we are always happy to oblige, subject of course to the landlord agreeing to these changes.I would ask you to appreciate it is not just a question of securing a simple yes or no answer from the landlords. There are often a number of conversations taking place between all relevant parties, and once agreed we have to complete various items of paperwork to ratify any amendments that have been requested and agreed. In terms of notifying you in advance of our standard charge to deal with such matters, I just wanted to point out that specific reference is made to this, not only within the initial Terms & Conditions that you would have signed prior to proceeding with an application, but also within the formal Tenancy Agreement itself. I only mention this, as I did not want you to think that we had implemented such charges without making them clear at the very outset. I hope my explanation helps clarify things in a little more detail from our Company's perspective and I hope that you are able to agree all of the required changes with your landlord, and then enjoy your time in the property.Steven BondManaging Director - Residential Lettings

I just rent a flat from them and i pay 5 weeks deposit and end of my tenancy agreement they did not pay my deposit back and the Kate as work for the company she never respond to our e-mails,calls so we might call 10 times to talk with her and emailing but she did not care anything at all. Even she was not very friendly person to us while we was giving back the key and we did not get any direction as how we gonna get our deposit from referencing company. They just said on the e-mail as soon as landlord decide how much he will wish to make deduction on your deposit you will get rest of your money back.I can not suggest this company to you unfortunately because they are always on landlord side.they never think of you or your money
Hi CumaaliI note that you have previously posted a separate review some time ago regarding the same issue and I did provide you with a detailed response at the time. Since then, our internal filenotes clearly indicate that Kate, our Inventory Clerk has made concerted efforts to resolve the dispute between yourself and the landlord over your deposit and regular contact has been maintained with you throughout. Due to the inability of yourself and the landlord to reach an amicable agreement, our recommendation has been that you lodge an independent claim via the Property Ombudsman. They will then conduct a completely independent review of the situation and make a decision based on the facts in terms of what funds from your deposit, be it all, part or none should be returned to you. As explained in my previous reply, letting agents are not legally permitted to release any funds back to a tenant until such time as a mutual agreement has been reached between the landlord and the tenant. I genuinely hope that you are able to resolve this matter once and for all at the earliest opportunity.Steven BondManaging Director - Residential Lettings

I have nothing but praise for Karen and her Team at Beresfords. They stepped in at very short notice to help me out of a problem I was having and gave me very sound advice. What is also very impressive is that they said it was a nice property and had the property let within 24 hours. They adopted a highly professional attitude towards their roles. I was particularly impressed, being at a distance, with the fact they went the extra mile on a number of things to help me and the team performed exactly as was described to me in the initial meeting. They kept me informed of the progress of each stage and also gave me a great deal of confidence about what they were doing and why. What really impressed me is how Karen meticulously inspected the property at the outset and provided an honest and realistic market appraisal along with the issues associated with renting. Of all the agencies who visited, Beresfords was the only one to advise getting an EPC done. In addition, Beresfords also checked all the landlord documentation very meticulously which really impressed me a great deal. I would certainly recommend them.
