Terrible experience with Benham & Reeves property management team. We’ve been a tenant in one of their managed properties for four years. Our flat was advertised with all Bosch appliances. When our washing machine stopped working they tried to replace it with a cheap Hotpoint alternative that costs a fraction of the price. When we pushed back they only agreed to give us a like for like replacement if we paid towards the cost. I’ve found the new manager Sylvie Didykova frankly painful to deal with. Not only is she rude and abrupt, she is outright dishonest. We live in a furnished property, where Benhams provide all the furniture. After reporting a broken dishwasher, she sent a repair person to our flat who did a shoddy job of fixing the machine and it stopped working again after two washes. When we reported that it had broke again, she sent an invoice for the repairs for over £200 for the failed repair job and tried to stick us with the bill! When questioned on why we were not quoted before the repairs, she then lied and claimed she had told us over the phone. After attending our property for a routine inspection we drew her attention to the dinner table chairs that were in disrepair and needed replacing. She agreed and said these chairs were cheap and not meant to last four years. On going back to her office she changed her story and sent us a letter saying the landlord said the chairs were fit for purpose. When questioned on her initial comments she lied and said she never said this! When I asked her colleague for the landlord’s number they refused to give it to me. When I said I was coming to their offices to discuss the matter, they claimed they were threatened. I asked Sylvie to provide proof of this, ofcourse she could not. Because it didn’t happen. Sorry you don’t get to rip people off and then play victim when you get called out. If you are a tenant, think twice before taking on a property that is managed by Benhams. They are not honest people.

Real shameless scammers

After three months we finally got the deposit back from TDS by filing a dispute against this agency..The adjudicator decided that they were charging two to three times of the deposit than they deserve. We also realised that they are arbitrarily and unlawfully charging a 'checkout fee'. This is deemed unlawful regardless what they forced us to sign. The checkout fee was refunded per the adjudicator's request. Yes.. they will bombard all your coms to pressure you into buying, paying, signing, and the worst part, by twisting the actual laws and regulations against you. Please remain calm, and seek legal help if you feel like that you have been coerced by them. Do not waste more time trying to talk sense with them. As you read their replies here on trustpilot, they never sincerely apologized for anything or admit they did anything wrong. Regarding to the conduct of the agent we are currently preparing a lawsuit. We believe in justice, and would not stop until justice is served.

Since I’ve moved into my apartment ten years ago, I’ve had an array of different managing agents, that weren’t that efficient. However, when Denisa Markusekova became the managing agent for my property, things changed completely. She is so efficient, and is always on standby to solve any problems with the property. She puts her utmost effort into ensuring that both the tenants and landlords are looked after completely. I have always had full faith in her work. She has sorted so many problems in my flat, from plumbing issues, to furniture replacements, etc, in the most timely manner. I have never had to worry at all. Rented a flat with them. It took Benham and Reeves more than 2 months to reimburse my deposit after many emails. The accounting department made a lot of mistakes and information communicated to me was erroneous (miscommunication as they would call it) which eventually cost me half a month rent. Would not trust them for any transaction
