They’re a family run business with over 70 years experience of buying and selling properties. That’s what the website says and yes it’s true!
After trying to sell our home for 10 weeks by another agent we changed to Whitlock and Heaps who sold our home almost immediately plus managed to negotiate the flat I wanted to buy!
They’re reactive and proactive.
Every phone call was returned the same day from the moment we went on their books to completion. They kept us informed and didn’t give us false expectations like others had. I felt confident everything would run smoothly and it did. Jack and the team are friendly, welcoming despite being super busy they always dealt with any questions we had the same day in person or by phone call. You only have to drive around Hove and Poets corner to see their success rate for yourselves.
We are settled and happy in our new home thanks to Jack and the team.
If I ever move again these guys are the ones I’ll go with!

GoogleJack (and the rest of the team) were fantastic from start to finish. They listened to us at the first meeting and understood that we loved our house and didn't want to list it for more than it was worth only for people to come and kick tyres and knock money off (unlike other agents in the area). We advertised our house for the right price and had lots of interest, and were happy to accept an offer of the asking price from someone who clearly loved the house as much as we did. There were a couple of hiccups through the sale process due to events further down the chain, but Jack and the guys kept us calm throughout and reassured us that everything would be ok, which, of course it was!
I would recommend these guys to anyone, they really are a credit to themselves and the industry. Thanks!

Having experienced almost all of the other agents in the area, Peter really stood out to us in his kindness, efficiency and reasonable approach to the rental market. We came back to them as homeowners and Jack valued our home twice when we needed him to. There was no pressure and nothing was too much trouble. He offered extremely competitive rates and was the epitome of professionalism when we eventually opted to go with another agent because they'd provided a higher valuation (which ultimately had to be dropped to sell). Jack was spot on with his valuations and advice from beginning to end and if I had to sell again in the future, he'd be my first choice.

GoogleI had my name down for a property for two months, and they gave it to someone else, without even contacting me. I left messages and they didn't return my calls. And when I spoke to Peter about this today, he was so rude to me and didn't care in the slightest. Will never use this company. They don't even deserve one star. It just proves they are about money and they don't care who they hurt to get it. i hope their new tenant doesn't pay them rent.

GoogleNot recommended at all. This estate agent is not mutual between the landlord and tenant. The agent sides with the landlord on all cases. We rented a property from this agent and the landlord had family relationship with Whitlocks and Heaps. We asked for a new kitchen and bathroom to be done and they refused to do it. Once we got evicted, they made houshold improvements including fitting a new kitchen and bathroom in which asked for that to be done in the first place. Its even worth one star , shame you cant give them 0

I was surprised to see your review considering:
1. You had substantial rent arrears
2. Our client had to go through the courts to get possession
3. You have made no attempt to pay the monthly instalments for court costs.
4. We continued to have contractors inspect the property for points raised by you even though no rent had been paid
Please also note there is no family connection between the landlord and Whitlock and Heaps.

I am surprised and disappointed to read your review especially considering the lengths we went to, to accommodate you at the end of your tenancy.
1. Negotiating with the landlady to allow you to be released early from your contract.
2. When arranging viewings to accommodate your requests there were a number of occasions when viewings were booked and you were then not there to give us access.
3. Once a tenant had been sourced and a move in date agreed you then changed this date which obviously had a knock on effect for the incoming tenants having to change their move date.
4. And finally that after all this you left the property in the appalling condition of which we have evidence of.
My team did try to make direct contact with you to discuss your review but because we did not receive a response I felt we needed to reply.
