Bad experience on handing property back, had the property professionally cleaned, redecorated throughout and had the carpets cleaned, then told they were deducting money from my deposit for a stain on the carpet which was present when I originally viewed the property ! On two occasions the staff had called me a liar, one occasion was being asked to handle a viewing during COVID-19 lockdown ! Won't ever use them or recommend them to anyone. Well known for finding fault to keep deposit ! New tenant has moved in and I am still awaiting my deposit to be returned !!!
Dear John,Thank you for your review and I am sorry you feel your experience with Mishon Mackay was not satisfactory.Having reviewed the marketing journey and speaking to the Lettings Director, you are correct that we requested to do a viewing on 6th June, (post the Government giving us permission to return to work) and you kindly responded, confirming you did not live in the property during the week and we could carry out viewings as long as we followed the necessary safety measures, which of course we did to ensure the safety of our staff, you as the tenant and the applicant viewing. Having reviewed the property maintenance team’s email correspondence with you and regards to the check out, I can see they have pointed out a discrepancy between the inventory and check out, in that there was a stain on the carpet at point of check out. You claim that the stain was there when you moved in, but the inventory conducted prior to your key collection, states that this was not the case, at no point did we imply you were lying. Now, of course, sometimes, things are missed at point of inventory; so to safeguard you, the tenant, as much as possible you were given the opportunity to comment on the inventory with anything missed or not clear, however there were no additional comments made about the stain or indeed anything else. There is no denying that the property was returned in fantastic condition, so the landlord just requested that you asked your cleaner to re-attend to remove the stain, so a full deposit return could be actioned, which having looked through email communication, you declined. The landlord therefore requested a £50 deposit retention to cover the cost of removing the stain and as per the TDS (Tenant Deposit Scheme) guide lines, which you accepted. Following further communication the Landlord then dropped the £50 retention in exchange for the blinds you left behind, which again you agreed to. I can see that your full deposit was returned on 30.06.2020 and this was done within the 10 working days from the tenancy expiry date and within highlighted in your tenancy agreement.John, If you are unhappy in anyway re our response, please call me at the office to discuss further. Jay and Natasha were simply excellent. I usually do my own letting but as I was away I needed someone to find me tenants. I was bit nervous about not being around to oversee but the service was brilliant. They dealt with everything and all went really smoothly. Natasha found me great tenants in no time. Very impressed by the enthusiasm of the manager and staff at Hurst. Always monitoring progress of the property we have subsequently bought. I have one criticism; I had serious reservations about a property we were going to buy and subsequently felt I didn’t want to go ahead with buying it. I kept trying to explain my position but kept coming up against the reason to buy, not listened to and pressurised. Very upsetting.
