"At Lextons we don’t do sales-speak, flamboyant promises or tricks of the trade. What we do, is give straight-talking advice," Unfortunately we couldn't have had a different experience. Sadly Nick Sefton at the Kemptown office brokered an awful set up between us and the owners of our property. Moving from abroad with young children is complicated and tough and Nick assured us we were in safe hands and that we didn't need to use a guarantor (to be allowed a 12 month contract) instead we should pay 6 months upfront and rely on his opinion that the landlord would be "extremely unlikely to raise rent at 6 months". Low and behold after signing the contracts and even before we had moved in, the landlord told us he intended to raise the rent by £400pm in 6 months. This we wouldn't be able to afford so before arriving we knew we would have to leave. Then on top of that it became clear that one of the owners of the property was in fact the director of Lextons, so how Nick had no idea of his intentions is lost on us. Would definitely not recommend anyone to use them or if you do be cautious about what they recommend.
