I would highly recommend Readings Property Services. They are professional, on the ball with things and very approachable. They are very different from your traditional estate agents in they they care about the customer and totally understand the stress and pressures involved in purchasing a property. Terry (lady), Lee and James were wonderful. In particular, Terry was absolutely amazing. Honestly one of the most loveliest, thoughtful and approachable individuals working in this field I’ve ever come across. Not at any point did Terry make me feel bad about anything, she always understood background pressures and was always so approachable. I had been liaising with Terry for a few months and got the lovely opportunity to meet her today. Sounds a bit mad but it was a very emotional experience as we had always spoken over the phone so it was really nice to meet her at the end of the whole process just to be able to thank her and just communicate to her face-to-face what a positive impact she made behind the scenes. Readings Property Services are extremely approachable and friendly. I’ve dealt with a lot of estate agents in the past and honestly can say they are miles apart in terms of customer services. Overall it was a good experience

Overall it was a good experience, Liz was excellent from start to finish. Even when our buyer was being difficult Readings remained professional and we eventually completed.We tried the online only experience but felt that we weren't getting enough feedback. Readings and Liz in particular made moving home a much better experience than it could have been.

Appalling service, if you don't chase nothing happens. When you do chase you get treated like you're a hassle. Really can't win. Apparently a family run business, well they say never work with animals, children or family. Have no idea how customer service works, should you suggest anything you get ranting emails telling you how offended they are being told how to do their jobs. Well here's one last suggestion, do your job, that you're very well paid for btw, properly and you won't need to be told the basics of your job like chase the solicitors, check the status of the rest of the chain, make calls to get the sale done. 5 months to exchange! Really, 5 months. Told that the council was to blame, 12-16 weeks wait because of Covid, rang them, got through in 5 mins and told it was absolute nonsense and is actually 10 days from request. Nearly made the whole deal fall through, myself and the sellers daughter in law ended up making all the calls, chasing solicitors and so on and made it happen, really! Readings did nothing other than put a picture in their window and put the property on the web. If you want to pay thousands and do the work yourself, choose Readings! My best friend who is a manager of a branch of a prestigious estate agent in Islington rang after 4 months to find out what was going on, can't begin to tell you how polite and respected he is with everyone I've ever met, well he said he had never known estate agents to act like them? Immediately took offence to being asked what the issues were holding up the sale, then when making suggestions of what needed doing was immediately told, oh if your friend wants to pull out that's up to him??? No mention of it, he said he was continually having to calm her down, said it was one of the strangest calls he had ever had with another agent in his 29 years in the business. When he popped in the shop on my first visit to the property he left shaking his head, I had no idea what was wrong, he said how he couldn't believe that they still use paper files, property details and updates kept in folders.....he hadn't seen that in years! So antiquated. He pointed out that the software his companies use is designed to chase you as an agent about appointments, calls that need to be made, documentation that is needed and so on. As he said, you've only got to be heading across the office and something falls out never to be seen again. The whole company needs an overall. Some fresh blood and a more professional approach to their trade and their customers! Needs young, dynamic and ambitious people brought in, not stuck in the 80's. What as a company they don't realise, is do that, turn the properties around professionally, quickly and with a tip top customer service and they would make triple the money they are now. Dinosaurs stuck in the 80s, god help them if competition moves in, which it surely will as house prices in the area get higher and higher. Ultimately, they caused stress and anxiety for both myself, the purchaser and the seller that was totally unnecessary and in no way needed to happen. All they had to do was their jobs professionally

I sold my house approx 4weeks ago and thought i put a review up then but my I T skills are basically not great !!!! Seen some bad reviews about Readings in last couple of weeks and thought it was only fair to view my experience.From day 1 Liz was excellent and in fact no problems and very professional with all the members of staff.I had a challenging purchase and sale and i can 100% say without Readings i would have struggled and maybe probally would have not completed.Just thought i would share my experience as i run an independent business and there are always 2 sides to bad reviews. My dad used Readings when he purchased his property 20years ago and again when selling his house 2 months ago. I must say it was a great experience both times around. They adopt a 'get the job done' approach, which was a major positive for us, you could always reach a member of the team on the phone and they were super responsive via email as well. Their communication was brilliant and that helped to make the whole process run smoothly. Liz, James, Lee and the team are professional and it was clear they have a wealth of experience and knowledge within their field. As a family run business we felt looked after and valued as a client throughout the whole process. We even got a lovely call after the move to see how my dad was settling into his new home :-) I would recommend Readings in a heartbeat!

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING SERVICE ESP WITH TERRI

Reading were absolutely amazing from the beginning. When I was looking for a property I was very much under the impression that it was all about booking appointments for viewings and hanging up the line, with Readings they had a friendly open approach from the very moment I called for a viewing. Terri in Readings honestly made up the horrific journey to get our keys with the current climate and she went above and beyond to ensure we got our keys. She was available to chat whenever we needed her and was constantly keeping us in the loop throughout. Honestly cannot recommend Terri and Readings enough. Thank you for everything! THEY SHOUT AND I GOT TOLD TO "JOG ON THEN"

I would NOT recommend Reading Estate Agents. I was always chasing the estate agent I never got phone calls back when promised I got told to "JOG ON THEN" by the manager when I said I was going to look for another agent if they cant keep in touch. I had to remind him I was a paying client, not his mate. He told me he doesn't call me back because he doesn't have anything to say even when I asked him no update, is still an update. He shouts on the phone doesn't listen and has a full argument with you, with not one ounce of professionalism. The service was appalling over a 7 month period. On the last day of my sale they still were asking for documents from which they have lost. I don't trust them at all and have no faith in their abilities. They never knew what was going on always had conflicting information. I feel so ashamed to have worked with this company and paying them a HUGE amount of money for abuse and drama throughout my process. My independent solicitor said they are appalling the way they have spoken to us. STAY WELL CLEAR! DO NOT USE THEM! They have tarnished themselves badly and have given Estate Agents rep everywhere a huge blow!!

I was most impressed with Terri when She came to see the house 1st.... some ideas to help sell the house and wasn't pushy....We didn't put the house on a market straight away. When We did put the house on the Market, Terri was in charge of selling. Terri's very proactive and was very helpful and even though our sale wasn't straightforward, Terri didn't loose her cool but helped Us as much as She could. Terri liased between Us and our buyer and Our seller's agent. Would recommend Terri.

Awful awful awful service. Called about a flat to let on Monday and was told that the current tenant was handing their keys back on the Saturday. Arranged a viewing for the following Monday at 10.45am and was told if the keys were not handed back on time I would be contacted to cancel the viewing. I was not contacted, so assumed the viewing was going ahead and made arrangements with work to take some time off in order to attend. There was no one from Readings there when I arrived but I waited a little before calling the office. Once I got through (after 4 tries) I was told "sorry Katie, someone left you a message on Saturday to tell you the property has been let". I told the agent my name was not Katie, then was held on the phone for a quite a while the agents in the background tried to figure out which viewings they had booked for the day. When the agent finally came back on the phone she said that I was supposed to have called in the morning to check if the keys had been handed back. This wasn't the case so I explained that I was told I would be notified if the viewing wasn't going ahead but the agent was adamant I had made the mistake. Extremely unapologetic and quite rude to be honest. I emphasised that I had had to make arrangements with work to attend the viewing and was told "but you only live round the corner", as if my schedule was irrelevant. I will be sure to avoid any property handled by Readings going forward. 100% would not recommend.NegativeProfessionalism

Forget national agents stick with independents Readings

Unfortunately I found the service you give poor. The information given to our buyers was different to information given to us. I felt pressured to accept a lower price after the original price was agreed. I was not happy with communication levels and found it a very slow process. I would not recommend your Agency to anyone. When I handed in the keys to our property I found the staff offhand and unfriendly.

What a joke of an estate agents! I originally enquired about a viewing a property over a month ago and was told that there was a list for viewing of said property despite of me phoning in less than an hour after it was listed. Fair enough, as they said they would add me to that list for viewing that same week Saturday. I heard nothing back so I phoned the day before for them to say they weren’t taking any more viewings yet the property remains online. Another property I enquired about I was told it had sold (over 3 weeks ago) yet this also still remains listed. If you are no longer taking viewings or taking offers then do remove the listings to avoid people wasting their time, or do you just drag it out for the fees? As for sellers, beware: if someone phones in to enquire about your property they will likely tell them they cannot view it, even it hasn’t sold yet, dragging out the sale. Save money and go to another agent!
