GoogleAt first, they were nice, until I saw the reasons why the tenant before us, moved out.
There were cracks everywhere in the property, so the draft was ridiculous. We (my children and I) didn't have heating for months on several occasions; took us 7 months to get a new boiler, because they didn't believe we needed a new one.
The balcony was on it's way to collapsing, I could go on.
I had children under 10 in their property and they didn't care. I painted most of the property just to make it a little more homey, they didn't fix anything in the house but they charged me for the refurbishment of the whole house. This "family owned" company will throw you under the bus when it suits them. They will not do the work but will not compromise. I did a few things to try get the heating, atleast, sorted and that still didn't work but I'm being charged for a house that shouldn't have been put up for rent in the first place.
After moving out of the property, Readings kept our belongings in the property for 3 weeks. When we were able to get our things, they only gave us 1 hour, 60 minutes to move a 2 bedroom out only to end up not being able to take everything due to the stopwatch detective that was there.
Went through hell with these people. They are very patronising

GoogleI had a particularly difficult property to sell with a number of legal issues resulting in a long and protracted selling process. Readings estate agents in Hornchurch and in particular Charlie worked his socks off to complete the sale. They found a buyer within a week we then spent over a year crawling through the legal system with Readings battling on our behalf until we finally exchanged contracts with a very patient buyer. I cannot emphasis enough just how important Charlie’s efforts were in completing the sale. I have absolutely no doubt without Readings involvement this sale would never been achieved. After 9 weeks Readings failed to sell my property yet another agency sold it within the first week of listing - 20k over the same asking price!
The Readings agent that was actually responsible for selling the property only attended one open day.
Photos were extremely poor/unprofessional and did not represent the property to its highest potential.
No floor plan listed despite requesting this on a number of occasions.
After week 4, Readings insisted I reduce the asking price even though Readings and 2 other estate agents told me what I would be able to achieve for the property and I am still struggling to understand why they would ask this at week 4 of a 12 week contract!!!
The issue I am most distraught about and feel should be shared is the fact that whilst my property was being marketed by Readings, sentimental gold (which was not on display) went missing. I was promised anyone viewing the property would be accompanied by the agent at all times - clearly this did not happen or it was the agent themselves! Very upsetting & concerning!! DO NOT LEAVE READINGS AGENTS ALONE IN YOUR PROPERTY!!
When I raised a complaint with the owner of the business, he lacked empathy & told me that I was “overthinking”.
The overall service is beyond poor and so much time has been wasted thanks to this unprofessional agency.
Good luck to anyone who chooses to list with Readings - cheap is not always best!!

We feel the need to respond to this review as it is completely unjustified. Our records show we had over 40 viewings on the property between 29th January and 15th of March ALL of which were accompanied by Readings, receiving numerous offers, one of which was agreed in late February. This unfortunately did not proceed.
Regarding the gold bracelet, we took the vendors word that this went missing and could understand why she was upset. However, we never saw the item and no applicant was left unattended at the property, and I am confident that none of Readings staff would take anything from a property.
As a goodwill gesture we gave the vendor £500 which she said she was happy with.
I note this was not mentioned in what is a very unfair review which people will note is completely at odds with the vast number of Google reviews we receive.
