I sold my house with Ryder & Dutton earlier this year and had a great experience from start to finish. I got a realistic valuation, a detailed listing which showcased the property really well with beautiful photographs. I secured a really good offer and was kept up to date throughout the sale process with regular, personal emails. I felt comfortable to reach out to my case handler, Geraldine, with any questions - she was always very friendly and prompt. Thanks Geraldine and all the team involved.

Positive points: Branch Manager was very helpful during initial process, and guided me very well and house went up on sale fairly easily and quickly. The drawing of contract was easy.Negative points: Once house was sold, Lack of communication, I wasn’t kept up to date, I had to do lots of chasing around and even with that I would get redundant answers. Any information I was seeking from seller where agent has to act as a bridge, it was almost impossible asking them for help. Staff not very helpful. Based on this I think they are overpriced for services they give. Will I recommend R&D? No!

Jessica williamson made my whole experience of selling and buying a fantastic one, she was always on the other end of the phone, answered any questions we had about anything, nothing was ever too much trouble. Thank you Jessica 😘 The Solicitors on the other hand where hard to reach, I felt they never really engaged with us, when you have never done this before, you look for a guiding hand with knowledge of whats happening and someone you can rely on, we don't feel this was what we got, unfortunately more often than not we felt ignored. Yes the portal was there, but never updated, it was a more of a toolfor Blackburn Birchall to ensure they ticked boxes. Sorry that was our experience.

As a portfolio landlord currently selling most of my properties, I am dealing with several Estate Agents and Ryder & Dutton Heywood branch have been the best so far. Catherine is very pro-active and her communication skills are exemplary. I was updated constantly with feedback from viewings and progress once the sale had been agreed. Catherine's team (Julie, Megan, Jenna, Naomi, Lucy and Shannon) all played their parts by providing viewing confirmations and helping me with other tasks that I placed on them as someone who lives a long way from the property being sold. They provided access to engineers, liaised with a neighbour who held keys at one point and dealt with any mail that had arrived for myself or my former tenant. Catherine also negotiated the best price for my property when 2 potential buyers had both offered on it. The successful sale was then seen to completion with constant updates and chasing of both sets of solicitors. A very satisfactory experience therefore and a team who come with the highest recommendation.

One thing that would have helped would be to tell buyers/ sellers not to book vans until they recieve written confirmation. There were a number of issues with intending purchaser's but Lisa maintained a positive and helpful approach throughout.I was kept fully informed of matters throughout.The property was put on the market in December 2023 at a somewhat optimistic value and took about 10 months to eventually sell. Alex McMahon was my point of contact for the purchase as she was just fantastic, I cannot praise her enough! She was always there to answer all my questions and she made the whole process so easy and stress free which was massively appreciated. A massive thank you to Fiona & Kia

A massive thank you to everyone at Ryder & Dutton in particular Fiona & Kia at the Holmfirth office. We had a really poor experience with Simon Blyth and switched to Ryder & Duton with Fiona & Kia taking personal responsibility for our sale. Fiona even offered additional advice on how to market the property, in particular the front elevation of the property. We liked the idea of adding some planters to the front aspect that we have taken these to our new property and still love them. Our sale was prolonged, approximately 6 months from agreeing the sale to completion and during this time we have really appreciated the effort and personal investment and support that Fiona & Kia privided in securing viewings and the eventual sale. Moving home is very stressful, but Fiona & Kia made sure that we were not only kept updated on progress but were proactive in chasing updates / information from the chain, which was really reassuring that the sale was progressing. It took a lot longer than was meant too as this was a sale with no chain . The buyers did not have the funds readily available as we was told before the sale . This was the cause of the delay. The aftersales advisor was great keeping ontop of the buyer and their solicitor.

Renting my house was easy and quick with the help of Rachael Howard-Cofield, Ellouise Dagnall and Joshua Albanese. Rachael was extremely helpful and always kept me updated throughout the process. Rachael would always get back to me within an hour of my email and helped move the process along very quickly. She was always very polite and friendly and was a pleasure to talk to. Ellousie was very efficient when sending over our contracts making sure everything was done as quicky as possible for us. Josh was very friendly when showing us around the house and when giving us the keys he took his time to show us where all the metres are and other useful information etc. Josh also did our inventories which were very detailed. I would highly recommend using Ryder and Dutton, all of the staff that helped us were extremely reliable and friendly. These staff members are a credit to the company!

Start to finish fantastic service from the team, with a special mention for Catherine Salisbury who was just exceptional. We bought and sold through R&D between May and October 2025. We moved to Ryder & Dutton after 3 months of terrible service with another agent, and it was night and day from the very beginning. Fran came out to sign us up and Catherine took it from there. We were back on the market within 24 hours and sold within 48 hours for well above asking price. Just incredible! Catherine guided us through the process with absolute professionalism, kindness and patience through every step. We’ve had tears and laughter along the way and I wouldn’t still be sane without having Catherine by our side! She’s an absolute credit to R&D, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend both R&D and Catherine to anyone buying and/or selling in Heywood. They know the market like no one else and their service is unmatched. The team at R&D Heywood are unmatched. Catherine in particular is incredible! She is extremely knowledgeable and possibly the most patient person I have ever had the pleasure to deal with. Without her I feel I would not be in my dream house now. I am not the easiest of people to deal with and she steadied the ship on numerous occasions when I thought all was lost. She is an excellent negotiator on behalf of her clients but also is truly honest with you. I cannot speak highly enough of her. Whatever she is getting paid it needs to double because she is worth every penny. The one star review on here HAS to be from a competitor or a disgruntled ex employee as it makes no sense whatsoever.
