SOLD MY DETAILS ON...

We asked someone from Brown and Merry to come value our house with the possibility of putting it up for sale with them. We decided on another agent in the end but since giving my name, mobile number and address to Brown and Merry, I've had calls, texts and post through from haart estate agent who admitted on the phone to buying my details off another agent ( it can only be Brown and Merry as the agent we went with only had my husband's details). They've also sold my info to one of these house buying companies who text me constantly! I'm pretty sure that's a GDPR breach. AVOID CONTACTING!!

Awful as a letting service, if you want to rent a property. When you are viewing a property, you are subtly vetted. Brown & Merry Tring do not use a first offer in policy, customers are shown properties in blocks, then they just decline the prospective renters who they deem unsuitable from the very limited information that they gleam during your viewing. A total waste of time, two visits to Tring to arrange & see the property & the long wait for an answer. Avoid.NegativeResponsiveness, Professionalism

Finding a new place to live during the current pandemic and personal life situation was proving to a challenge. My partner and I just bought our first house and are really pleased with Brown and Merry Tring. They were so professional when showing us the property, ensuring we were safe and covid rules were being adhered to. In particular, Charlotte who showed us the property and saw us from offer to completion was professional, friendly and supported us throughout, taking calls, answering our emails very promptly, and working with the seller to ensure everything was just right by the time we completed. She went above and beyond to make the process as positive as possible in this strange time! We moved in around a week ago and are really happy.

WORST LETTING AGENT I HAVE EVER BEEN WITH! if you wanna rent then rent from watsons! First off lets start with the letting agent who had no clue how to do her job! We gave her all the information she needed she also wrote it down my partner told her he had a CCJ but then the next day after we had agreed to let a house from them she had no clue about the CCJ or that my partner had a job! Which she also wrote down! She said she had to get the landlord to do something with insurance and that i had to go to the council to get something that was completely irrelevant! She also told us the tenancy would be a month to month tenancy then on the day we signed it changed to a 6 month tenancy she also couldn't remember how much the rent or deposit was! So we moved in and the washing machine that she said they had removed from the property was still there! So we had to move it out but wait that wasn't all it was filled with dirty, disgusting smelly water that flooded the kitchen the whole back wall was also covered in mould! Anyway the washing machine was sat outside in the back garden ( this was a communal garden) the washing machine blocked our neighbours bins because there was no were else to put it but we were told that the washing machine would be picked up by the weekend so the weekend come and went and guess what the washing machine was still there and after a number of phone calls, texts and emails over the week someone actually got back to us it would be picked up in a few days but oh no wait it sat there for another month! Moving on when we moved in there was no hot water or heating it took them over a week and a half to get that sorted! The house was completely dirty when we moved in! The toliet seat had wee all over it! I mean what the hell! LOOK AFTER YOUR TENANTS! The walls were completely dirty also. This place hadn't been decorated in years! So moving on a few months we get a letter through the door saying we haven't paid our rent! Wait what really? So I doubled checked my bank statement and guess what the rent had gone out to them just like it had done the past 2 times! For some reason they couldn't track our rent down! After a number of visits to my bank and a number of statements later to prove that I had payed the rent they somehow found it! Strange right? Then another month later it happend again! Tell me how do you lose rent?? Anyway no more problems after that so we come to the end of our tenancy because we found a much better and bigger place, 2 weeks before we moved out the heating and hot water just stoped working this never got sorted they left me my boyfriend and 3 kids without. So we moved out and cleaned the house it was better than when we moved in. But no the landlord who left the house dirty when we moved in said it wasn't cleaned and tried to charge us for cleaning! That didn't work it also took upto 6 months to get the rent and deposit they owed us back. This was 6 months of calls and emails half of which were ignored! They also moved people in when we still had the tenancy with them I was shocked to learn of this when I went to my home and saw people moving in! They also never asked for the keys back! And my god the amount of letting agent people who come and went from that place was unbelievable! 7 people! And all of them had no clue how to do there job! Worst ever please take your money someone else like Watson! I was with watsons for nearly 5 years and they were brilliant!!

Excellent Service from Hemel Hempstead

I don't usually write a review but I thought that my experience with the Hemel Hempstead branch deserved one. I was dealing with Tom Fitzgerald who shown such professionalism throughout. He made the whole process of buying a house so easy for us, calling both parties and giving us updates all the time was incredible, very humble, good attitude towards people, brilliant personality ,knows his job very well, in all, we were able to exchange and complete very early than the usual 3 - 4 months even during the lock down because of his hard work, very well done Tom and thank you very much for helping us to buy our house which we are so much in love with, please don't let this end here, keep it up.

Do not bother booking lettings…

Do not bother booking lettings insurance with them. It is a total nightmare to cancel and they will send you on a wild goose chase to do so. I called insurance directly, they said speak to lettings, they eventually got back to me and gave me an email to cancel with. They responded saying speak to insurance company. Seriously? Full circle. Do yourself a favour and book it yourself.

They’ll take a deposit and not help you to find a property. I’ve lost £350 with them and they did not refund after not finding the right property. Keep away from this scammers Ellie and Emily will promise you a home and then take you money and ignore you. Such a shame, playing with this sensitive matters.

Sequence rental - AVOID!

Sequence rental are possibly the worst company I have ever dealt with. Overpriced, inept, and seem to totally forget that as a landlord it is me that pays for their service. Tenants did not report a leak that caused my wooden worktops to rot, to replace them will cost nearly £800 but am being told this is fair wear and tear and I can not claim for them to be replaced! Poor service from start to finish.

Absolutely useless got a 12 week contract after 4 weeks no viewing what so ever the 4 time wasters i got never got any feed back from brown n merry Aylesbury i had to keep calling them when i called to ask why i wasn't getting viewings i was told it was brexit it was the school holidays it was the price even though it was 20 thousand pounds less than when i brought it in 2017 Do they want to sell houses or not the communication or lack of it is not acceptable would defiantly NOT RECOMMEND THEM

Having sold our house very quickly, and so as not to be in a chain and run any potential for not completing on the sale, we decided to rent a flat for a year. Having found a few suitable flats to rent, we eventually decided to rent a flat shown to us by Emily. We only viewed the flat on the Friday evening, and notified Emily of our wish to rent the property on Saturday afternoon. Emily moved heaven and earth to actually get us the keys to the property by the following Thursday morning, which was absolutely fantastic, and allowed us to complete on the house. As first time renters, we were a little naive to what the processes involved. After falling in love with one of the properties at Brown and Merry's, Adam Manning showed us around and was so friendly, and helped us along every step of the way. He has been extremely knowledgeable and has gone above and beyond, and always has time to answer my many questions. His responses are always quick, and he is always in a good mood, even when I bother him with emails whilst he's out of office (whoops) I Couldn't recommend this estate agents any more! Our experience with Adam definitely encouraged us to pursue this property and we will definitely be using Brown and Merry's again.
