Really disappointed to be writing this as we had such high hopes following a great valuation meeting with them. After sending back all the documents etc and having the photos done, we then had to do all of the chasing to get our property marketed, despite making it clear we were keen to sell quickly. The issues we flagged with our profile listing were never fixed. We only received automated email notifications of viewings booked, which went into our Spam folders, so it was pure luck that we came across the first one in time to prep the house and make arrangements to ship out, then had to remember to check spam regularly thereafter as we just didn’t hear from anyone in between viewings; very lucky that all viewings booked were at appropriate times, as no one thought to check with us before confirming with potential buyer. Advice about how to better market the property was unfortunately only forthcoming once we’d given notice, and annoyingly matched (some of) the advice we’d already been given by other estate agents we were working with to replace Boardwalk. Incredibly frustrating that we didn’t receive the same excellent service other sellers’s reviews have described.

My first impressions of Boardwalk were that they seemed to have a premium quality feel with a clear emphasis on design & presentation. This was confirmed by meeting Holly, who has been great and has exceeded my expectations in her enthusiasm - professional yet personable. As a designer myself I was very impressed at the quality of the photos, really helping to showcase my home in its best light. Communication has been spot on, the process has been simple and I've been connected with some great buyers.

Happy with the service received from Boardwalk for our recent flat sale in Ashley down. Although initially over estimating the value quite a lot, which prolonged finding a Buyer, it worked out in the end. Great photographer and the virtual reality tour option was a nice touch. Nick was great and really sold it to us. However some of his team came across as quite inexperienced where the communication and organisation could have been better e.g. providing status updates when calling in and managing our Buyer's solicitor more proactively. But these minor things can be forgiven as they are a young, local Bristol company with competive pricing so sure to disrupt the market and we are all for it!

Went downhill after the initial good impression

We had an excellent first impression of Boardwalk. Nick is a true professional, very friendly and clearly has a passion for what he does. We understand it’s a tough market at the moment so we weren’t expecting a quick sale, however we were quickly promised two open houses and told Boardwalk expected to receive at least one offer within the first month. Unfortunately they then only managed to secure one viewing for each open house date and after three months had only secured five or six viewings. Feedback went up on Opendoor fairly quickly but this was never followed up on and we never heard again regarding anyone with a potential interest. All in all it was a shame that some of the other agents in office didn’t have the same enthusiasm, customer service skills or follow-through as the management.Needless to say we are having more success and being kept updated throughout the process by an alternate Bristol based agency.

Boardwalk sold my property this month and they also acted as the agent on the sale of the property I bought. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them - they really set the bar high for estate agents in the local area. Josh’s pricing of the home I sold was accurate and resulted in a number of offers. Unfortunately the original sale fell through on the day of exchange due to the buyers change of circumstance. Josh quickly helped me to get another buyer within three days, from the original list of people who put an offer in. This time the sale went through quickly and easily. After the offer was secured, Debbie from the Sales Progression team did her utmost to keep the sales moving forward as quickly as possible. She was an absolute star, dealing with a lot of stressed out purchasers and buyers as we were in a chain of 6, and all desperate to complete as quickly as possible as the economy had begun to take a rapid nosedive. Everyone I have encountered at Boardwalk has been very pleasant and genuine, they are a lovely bunch of people with their feet on the ground and who act with integrity. A far cry from the popular image of estate agents as untrustworthy and slightly slimey! If I ever move again, I will definitely sell with them.

We honestly had the best experience we could have asked for, when we bought our first home through Boardwalk. The process started back in April and we just completed - the entire time we had amazing communication from Ruby, constant checkins and updates - and as we struggled getting responses from solicitors, it was really great to have estate agents that would push for more info and help ensure the last 5 month were as stress free and smooth as they could be. Couldn't recommend them enough and we are so grateful to have had Ruby liaise for us!

Don't take the risk of losing £thousands - go elsewhere

Please be very wary before instructing Boardwalk to sell your property - you could end up losing a thousands of pounds on the sale of your house, as we did.You will be bowled over when they attend for the valuation by their Insta perfect photos and their glossy booklets. Little do you know you will end up conducting most of the viewings yourself, as (in our case at least) they didn't have anyone to conduct viewings on Saturdays. That professional agent who assured you he would undertake most of the viewings for your property, and manage the process throughout? He will undertake one viewing for you. The glossy online portal? It won't be updated. You will then be told the wrong date for viewings, and won't be informed when a survey is cancelled. Worst of all, when just before exchange, when your buyer indicates they want to re-negotiate, your agent from Boardwalk will send an email to your buyer indicating that you are "keen to agree £5k off", despite this being completely untrue. When you try to undo the damage and insist you are not "keen to agree £5k off", your buyer will quite rightly indicate they had thought this was agreed, and had already instructed their mortgage broker of the revised agreed price. When you complain to Boardwalk, they will tell you that you ultimately had the choice not to agree to proceed with the £5,000 reduction; whilst this is true, Boardwalk had created a situation via their negligence whereby we either lost our sale and onward purchase, or lost £5,000. When you raise concerns with Boardwalk following completion, the negligence and failure to provide a competent standard of service will be justified as your agent "works part time", "we had no available staff on the Saturday" and told that "as a board of Directors we are quite shocked in all honesty" that you request the £5,000 back via a reduction in Boardwalk's agency fee. We deeply regret instructing Boardwalk. You will be convinced that it won't happen to you, but please don't take the risk and instruct one of the many other local agents you have to choose from. This is likely the most important (and stressful) transaction of your life, and you need a trustworthy and competent agent.
