I rented a flat in Richmond through Foxtons. While I want to acknowledge that Ciara DuPont was professional and genuinely tried to help, my overall experience with the lettings team, particularly Margot Redpath, was very disappointing.

Landlords don’t be fooled by the nice offices and friendly staff. They are ruthless. They take 13 percent + VAT for rent collection only and lock you in for 5 years. It’s not the tenants we need protecting from. It’s the ruthless agents.

GoogleI had the pleasure to start my home research with Natalin Simpkin and couldn’t have been more satisfied with the process. Right away Natalie was incredibly friendly and I really can’t say enough good things about her. As a first time homebuyer, I was not familiar with the terminology or the best process people to involve. Going in to the process I thought I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted and what buying a home is like, but it wasn’t “quite” as simple as I thought. Natalie may be the most patient person I know; she’s completely open to hearing what you have to say and continues to listen whole heartedly when the next day you’re saying something completely different. This isn’t her first rodeo and she seems to understand the flip flopping first time buyers go through. She seemed to always be available for my questions and sync ups when I was feeling under water. She helped me narrow down what kind of home I was looking for and was patient as I dragged her through dozens of properties. Natalie gave me excellent guidance, she is knowledgeable, approachable, personable, endlessly patient, thoughtful, hardworking and incredibly generous with her time (including mornings, evenings, and weekends over the course of several months). She answered every question and explained every form and every part of the process clearly and thoroughly. GoogleBuying a property can be a real nightmare, so many calls and emails, so much negotiation and so much frustration. Among the dozens of people I came in contact with just wanted to say Natalie was a breath of fresh air; knowledgable, informative and respectful of the buyers privacy and time. Showed me places she knew I would be interested in and was well prepared and able to answer all questions and concerns. Ultimately I ended up buying through a friend and not through an agent but felt she deserved a review on here! Highly recommend Natalie and Foxtons Shepherds Bush!

Non-existent communication. Viewings done by an unprepared team: didn't know level of service charge, exposure, if the appliances were new or not, size of the flat or rooms. One claimed we had replaced the kitchen (we hadn't), another that the Hue Lights we installed were staying in the flat for the buyer (we never said that).

GoogleFoxtons offered fantastic service, and Curtis was absolutely brilliant when helping me find and secure a flat when I had a short time frame. He took me to multiple locations and had a great knowledge of the area, describing each location and highlighting places to visit when living there. He helped to alleviate my worries and had shown me the perfect flat within minutes.

Terrible service. Very disappointed. I found a short let property on their portal myself, the agent (Amir Abbasian) kept suggesting either awful properties, or ones over my budget. They were very quick to call back and close the deal but once the deal was made, I never once was able to speak directly to my agent Olivia Taylor, or anyone from Foxtons again. Repeated messages and email queries went unanswered. Every two weeks a new person would be in touch and all my queries would be ignored. The property was nice and in good condition but i paid Foxtons 350 pounds for the end of tenancy clean, and was slapped with a 600 pound cleaning claim on my deposit. The property was never cleaned and my landlord claimed the charges from my deposit. at least a dozen emails later, I still don't have a protection document number for my deposit. I was told my deposit was protected. I ws told I would be provided an inventory upon moving in. I was told the place would be cleaned at the end of my tenancy, for which i paid. None of the above happened. Still waiting for part of my deposit to be returned, even though they said it was transferred three weeks ago and should take 5 to 7 days to be credited. I've settled the dispute with my landlord now, even though it is extortion, but it seems even he was being cheated by Foxtons.

Our landlord uses Foxtons Stratford as their letting agent. Our experience with them has been appalling. Maintenance issues are ignored for months on end with no communication, and when they are dealt with they are dealt with badly and break again quickly. The property we live in is currently on the market and the sales team have been incredibly rude and disrespectful towards us as tenants. Harassing every member of the household about viewings one after the other, attempting to get a different answer when told no to a viewing with less than 24 hours notice, and then showing up anyway and attempting to enter the property anyway. Complaints have been made multiple times yet the behaviour continues unchanged.

GoogleThis place operates like a sweatshop. @Landlords - they will give you the option to allow them to sign a tenancy agreement on your behalf. Do not give them this right, at least not to Curtis. Curtis signed a 2 year tenancy on behalf of the landlady (granted he had legal permission) before the tenants even completed their references or provided guarantors. The tenants could have been unemployed convicts and he would have locked you into the contract anyway. He appears not to care for your security of income. Towards the end of the tenancy, Foxtons were provided with keys to conduct a viewing as all the tenants were away. The tenants returned from their holiday to find the backdoor left wide open, while all their valuables were in the living room. It was also clear that wild foxes had entered the premises. I do not yet have the name of the agent responsible for this height of incompetence. +1 star because their website works quite well.

used to be good but ever since the intro of the renters rights acts, property management service has dropped off a cliff. This bad for landlords because they get poor management, bad for tenants because they get poor representation, and bad for the industry because estate / letting agents are no longer accountable.

If you are a renter, please do not use Foxtons. They are a scammy horrible company that only serves the interests of the landlord. They rented us an overpriced disgusting dump by using old out-of-date photos in the rental ad, and locked us into an abusively restrictive contract that made it impossible to leave the horrible dump that ruined my mental health. Do yourself a favour and stay away from these money hungry scammers.

Extremely poor experience with Foxtons. We were left without proper cooking facilities for 25 days, which had a major impact on our daily life and forced us to spend extra money on food. A functioning cooker is a basic part of any home, yet this was not handled with the urgency it deserved.
