Covea Motor Insurance claim

I was involved in a multiple vehicle accident in April 2021. All parties agreed that I was not at fault. My insurance provider (M&S) passed my case onto the underwriter Covea. My car was written off and, after negotiations, Covea paid a sum minus a £350 excess. I was told this would be reimbursed by the at fault person insurance, but after 9 months this has still not happened. I am currently listed on the Insurance database as a possible "at fault" driver in the accident so I have lost my non-claims bonus and have to pay over double what I paid previously in premiums. I have lost count of the e-mails & telephone conversations I've had with Covea, all without success. They promise "swift" action every time and then when I hear nothing after two months I have to chase again. They have acknowledged that their service has been very poor and made a number of low value payments as compensation. None of these come anywhere near the costs I have incurred. A very poor company that is only interested in getting your money.

would give no stars if i could customer service realy bad was told could claim some money back on insurance as not used the car in a year was told to get my broker to give them a call which i did for them to be told they do not do it well the nman on the phone said they did so i phoned again to see what they had to say second time and they were not interested in what i had to say so give this insurance company a miss if you want any help please do not tell people you do it then say you do not you are not worth bothering with realy bad service will go to someone else you should all stay clear of them if you want help

My partner passed away in April

My partner passed away in April. He had a very small insurance policy. I sent the Death Certificate to Covea in April and it still hasn't been returned to me despite numerous phone calls. Claim hasn't been processed either.YOU ARE DEALING WITH SOMEONE'S DEATH HERE!! I am honestly beginning to wonder if this company are in actual fact a scam, especially after reading some of the reviews.

Awful, unhelpful and uncaring

Edit: Received a call to settle after posting on here. I'm happy now but it's a shame that only by posting a complaint on Trustpilot do so may companies seem to up their game and respond.Awful! I'm the claimant not the policy holder and I have an email unresponded to from November! Customer Relations won't do anything about my complaint since I'm not the policy holder and the agent has done nothing on my case except make excuses about not having an opportunity to look - she won't even look whilst I'm on the phone and they have accepted liability so just need to "ok" the amount. A manager was supposed to call me to discuss my dissatisfaction - no call received! Absolutely disgraceful lack of service and care.

I would not recommend this insurance…

I would not recommend this insurance company, the worst experience ever. My car had catalytic converter stolen a month ago o reported it and received a text from Covea stating the part had been ordered and my courtesy car would be delivered to my home address. One month on I have not received courtesy car and no part was ever offered as my car has been written off. It’s been 1 month and I have not been paid out or had a courtesy car. Covea only give you a courtesy car if they are repairing your car and you only get this car once they have collected your car which they won’t collect your car until part is in garage. I paid for courtesy car and have never receive one. Covea won’t value your car until they have taken it away to salvage so plz take loads of photos of your car as they will under value your car by half. I would totally avoid this company. I have been offered £50 comp for there lies which is an insult as I still have no payout or no courtesy car 1 month after the incident; worst company I have ever dealt with

I contacted the claims line regarding an incident my wife was involved in and was guided through the claim procedure by a very helpful lady called Red. Avoid this company!

Dreadful, unethical company. Needed to be constantly chased up to reply to a claim and then when they did inventing spurious reasons not to pay out. Will be pursuing with the Financial Conduct Authority. Don’t be fooled by the low premiums. This company should be avoided.Edit:- Shaun your message feigning concern fools no one. You already had my email complaint when you posted asking me to email customer services.

I had my car written off by a driver…

I had my car written off by a driver whose insurer was Covea. She was driving on my side of the road on a bend, too fast and hit my vehicle. Police, ambulance and fire services were called to the scene as she flipped her car onto its roof. Police are now pursuing the driver to attend a drivers awareness course clearly meaning that they found that she was at fault. The photos of the scene help to confirm this.My insurer has been trying to make contact with Covea who seem to be ignoring their emails and phone calls. Covea, please do the right thing and respond. This is a highly stressful situation and entirely caused by the driver you insure.

I am not insured with Covea but after a minor vehicle accident involving a Covea client impacting my vehicle they contacted me on the same day, accepted liability and immediately made arrangements for repairs to be carried out and a courtesy car made available. This was really important at the time and took the load off me after a stressful experience. I really appreciated their approach and commitment to sorting it out

One of the worst experiences ever. I’ve only just found if that my non fault claim has been denied. No email communication or confirmation of this. 8weeks to fix a wing mirror. I could have fixed it by a garage for half the price yet I’m expected to pay my £600 excess. Just found out today the vehicle is coming back tomorrow.!!!! The driver admits full liability but they still won’t pay.

My insurance Broker submitted a query to them prior to providing an insurance quote to assure that the electric radiator in a rented flat of mine would be acceptable. They did not reply and left us hanging for 3 days. In the end we went to a different Insurance company who confirmed acceptability within a few minutes. Covea lost my business and my £523 premium through their poor service and not providing my broker with an answer.
