Awful. Clueless. And Last Minute Dot Com. That's how I would describe this company, which acted for the buyer in a house purchase. They needed me to sign a deed of variation in connection with that house purchase, and then they had to verify my ID. We offered the standard driving licence, but this was deemed unacceptable and instead they insisted on completion of a Land Registry Form. This was duly actioned, and The Partnership had to go through a step involving a video call with me to complete the form. They resolutely refused to do that step, claiming "a conflict of interest", when it was they who were trying to verify my identity! Instead, they said I had to find another solicitor who could complete the form, at my expense and at the 11th hour and give it back to them. Even the seller's solicitor told Partnership that it was their job, as the solicitor lodging the deed (and therefore the verifier), to complete the form but they refused to listen. It seemed like Partnership did not care and were happy to let a house purchase fail, because they could not bring themselves to complete a simple form. I am aware that the buyer was left in tears as it seemed the whole house purchase was going to fall through as a result of The Partnership's ineptitude. Eventually the seller's solicitor stepped in and did the verification, which was Partnership's responsibility. Avoid this company at all costs.
Raj - sorry that as a member of the management company ( and therefore not our client ) that you were exposed to the legal technicalities in this case.It involved many parties and to register the property required an ID4 form to be completed - they do not permit driver's licences. We could not act for you as our client was co-signatory on the deed - this is indeed a conflict of interest.We worked together with the seller's lawyer to solve the issue by using an ID5 and then an ID2.As I say - sorry that you as a third party to a transaction were so involved - the complications of this legal process can be very frustrating.Peter AmbroseManaging Director

Partnership solicitors helped us to complete our First home purchase and we have been absolutely happy with the service offered. Their portal is the best one as it provides very detailed information at every step. Given we were First-time buyers we were not aware of the steps, but the whole team was super helpful in completing the whole home-buying process smoothly. Unfortunately, email alone can create an unsafe environment for sharing sensitive information, and there is a lot of back and forth with documentation in conveyancing.
