My assigned solicitor and her assistant had many out of office dates which overlapped during my property sale/purchase, which meant neither handed over to the other effectively and I was left chasing and constantly updating them on situations. I ended up having to break the chain in order to complete on my sale quicker and received incorrect advice from one solicitor. On the day of the exchange of my sale though, I did feel supported and looked after.

I had a very frustrating experience with Mekael Rahman and Ellie Fraser at the Partnership. I can see that they have positive reviews from other users, so maybe I was unlucky with the solicitors handling my case, but I found the Partnership to be very slow and unreliable. They repeatedly put the onus on me to make calls and send emails, and only engaged with my contact if I provided them with bullet points they could copy and paste. At no stage did they offer advice or explain the process. It was 4 months before Mr Rahman even spoke to me.As a first time buyer, I found their approach caused a lot of stress and anxiety. The Partnership twice missed agreed dates for exchange, and on neither occasion did they contact me to apologise or explain why. They were not concerned that this would cost me money as well as causing inconvenience. If I hadn’t been very proactive with chasing them, then they would easily have sat on my case until the mortgage agreement expired.The online portal that they advertise is a good idea, but it was not updated regularly and was used to send large numbers of documents without sufficient guidance as to their relevance. The updates they did provide were brief and often factually inaccurate, generating further work for me as I tried to correct their errors. The timescales shown on the portal were missed; it ultimately took the Partnership over 4 months to exchange on a flat with no chain. The seller was represented by the same firm, so this cannot be blamed on third parties.On completion, they charged around £500 more than the quote I had accepted, again without explanation. I am posting this today because, more than 2 months after completion, they have finally applied to the Land Registry to transfer the property into my name after another prompt from me.When I tell friends and family about my experience with the Partnership they always ask the same thing: why were my solicitors not representing my interests? I can only advise others to avoid this firm.

The partnership were recommended to us by a friend who works in property sales and I can see why.From previous experience I have always been disappointed by the service provided by conveyancing solicitors but not in this instance, whilst The Partnership were clearly far more effective than other solicitors in the chain.The Partnership were both responsive and proactive which was a great help throughout, if all solicitors were this helpful moving would be far less stressful. In addition, their portal was straight forward, easy to use and meant there was no need for endless email chains.
