Google*EDIT: the response from the owner below is a complete lie. I have photographic and email evidence to prove it.
Had a nightmare experience with Cavender. They promised repairs, professional cleaning and removal of furniture prior to my moving in. The landlord and I both signed the contract and I paid my deposit and first month's rent. I visited the property two days before the move-in date and nothing was done. The house was dirty, filled with stuff, cracked walls, mould, and stains everywhere. Cavender ignored my calls, blamed the landlord, and refused to take responsibility. They were patronising and completely unprofessional. Eventually, I sent a very reasonable email to both Isla and Charlie, and the landlord, who proceeded to threaten me with calling the police and cancelling my tenancy due to me "breaching my contract". Cavender refunded my money but refused to offer any other help. I am currently homeless due to their complete and utter negligence.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Value

It is a shame that you have amended your review to state my response as a lie. I have no reason to state anything but the truth as the issues you have stated do not relate to our service, they relate to misunderstandings between you and the landlord.
I am very disappointed to have read your review, and equally very disappointed that you noted the version of events so incorrectly.
To clarify, you had made requests when you first offered on the property. Some of these requests were agreed by the landlord and some werenβt, all of which were clearly communicated to you both verbally and in writing. Upon viewing the property just before moving in, you made it clear you were not happy with how the landlord had prepared the property and made several further demands. We stated to you that we did not manage the property and these requests would be subject to the landlords approval. As the landlord had met all of your previous requests, he refused to carry out further works in the property as he felt they were unnecessary and unreasonable.
You then wrote the landlord an e mail in which he felt was rude, offensive and abusive. He replied to you highlighting that he had attended to your previous requests and stated you were legally bound by the tenancy agreement.
Regardless of the above, we were able to assist you and the landlord to agree to nullify the tenancy you had entered and you were refunded in full.
We were more than willing and happy to try and resolve your difficult position but you had stated that you did not want to work with this landlord, or us, again.
I do hope you are able to take in to consideration that all the points you had originally requested to be resolved were sorted out by the landlord by the start of your tenancy.

One star is being generous, terrible estate agents. No check in done . So being made liable at the end . MATT , Marlena , Sarah to name a few they lie , hide your rent money make you think you have gone in to rent arrears and try and get you kicked out . The landlord GARRY LOCHHEAD IS THE WORST above all he bullies you to get his own way I have severe mental health issues but he didn't care, he's not giving back our deposit even though the house was in a disgusting situation when we took it on . It said unfurnished but we had to pay extra to remove furniture because the landlord didn't care he was was happy to take our Β£11.000 though , PLEASE AVOID CAVENDERS ESTATE AGENTS AND 265 SOUTHWAY GUILDFORD GU28DT water tank in loft ready to burst , black mould that caused my son to now use an inhaler. I'm so disappointed

GoogleAwful experience, after we put a holding deposit down and signed the contract, the next day we were told the place would no longer be available to us. After this they refused to give back the holding deposit because I put up a 1 star review. Quite childish and unprofessional. Would not recommend at all.

This is a completely false and inaccurate review.
No contract was produced because you were not able to pass referencing.
Your holding deposit was returned in full when we established you did not meet the referencing criteria.
An important part of the process is protecting our landlords by referencing all potential tenants. We would not process your application knowing it would fail as this would result in the cost being deducted from your holding deposit.
