FacebookFrom start to finish Carman Friend were excellent and we would whole heartedly recommend them to anyone.Our initial point of contact was professional and thorough. They attended our house for our valuation and gave realistic expectations of what our house was worth. There was a couple of months before we were ready to sell and at this point they worked quickly to secure a sale for our property. Our ongoing purchase was not straight forward- we were in a long ongoing chain and experienced many hiccups. The team worked tirelessly to ensure our purchase could finally go through and I honestly believe that if it was not down to the exceptional hard work of Emma we would not have been able to have moved into our new family home. We strongly advise that after our experience you need an excellent estate agent that is efficient, effective, proactive and is able to chase loose ends with other professionals in the chain. Your estate agent needs to really really care about your sale, your needs and time frame- Carman Friend do just that!

GoogleCarmen Friend recently sold my late father's home for us.
Pros: I want this to be a fair assessment, so I will say we had five people round on the first day, and three made an offer, two at the asking price, so that was great. One did in fact buy the house at the asking price.
Cons: Lady from the agents turned up to show prospective buyers around; she broke the key in the lock, and there was no offer of getting a new lock or anything. She then asked us if we could show the last person to view around the house, as she wanted to get off. One of the prospective buyers wanted to view again a couple of days later; once again we were asked to show them round. Three more people were booked in for the following Thursday nobody available to show the round,would we mind doing it,Communication was nonexistent from now on; many phone calls were not returned, and many emails were replied to but not with the information we had asked for,one email they did reply to was addressed to Steve, no idea who he is as my name is Kevin,that just summed up the correspondence.
The buyer requested to have a last look round before completion. I told them it's fine, but not on a Tuesday or Wednesday, as we're away; they booked him in for the Wednesday. I said to my wife that an hour before they go to show him round, they will remember they broke the key and don't have a spare. I was generous; it was actually half an hour. They rang me up very apologetic saying the couldn't find the key,I realized this would happen and arranged for my sister to take time off work and travel a long distance to show the buyers round. This should have been the easiest sale ever; cash buyer who didn't require a survey. The only slight problem we had to go through probate, which actually went through ridiculously easily in two weeks (unheard of). A very easy sale for both parties, you would think, but because of the lack of communication (which they allegedly pride themselves upon), it became a sale of stress and annoyance.

GoogleIf you're selling in Chester, it's frankly a mistake to instruct any other agent. Once you've experienced the buyer's POV (register to their mailing list) and witnessed how Carman Friend operate, then it's no wonder how so many of their listings become "Sold STC" within weeks. They're human and they're imperfect, but you're human and have high expectations, so just cooperate with them and you'll have no regrets.
