The boiler in the flat needed to have its settings adjusted. I got a very quick response from Mark Hall who arranged for us to learn how to remedy this and we had it sorted in 5 minutes. Great response.

A completely honest review... when I first started calling DJ Alexander I didn’t have the best experience and found it to be a ‘computer says no’ approach. However, I persisted as they do represent the best properties on the market in my opinion. I was desperate for one property and a lady in the office really helped me get a viewing (Leanne I think!!). When viewing, the agent Rosie, was lovely! She knew her stuff and was really warm and friendly. I have never rented before and I have asked poor Heather in the office an uncountable amount of questions. She replies very quickly, with lots of information and I never feel like I’m a nuisance (although I probably am!!). At handover of the keys, it was done promptly by Amanda. From (nearly) start to finish, it’s been an easy experience and I would like to thank DJ Alexander for that.

After 37 years of personally working in a customer focused business, I can honestly say that I have never experienced anything quite like this and would have been severely reprimanded if I had provided a service like this.Scenario, two sons looking to upgrade their flat via DJ Alexander. They have an excellent record in renting flats. They view and make a conditioned offer on a flat (small reduction in rent) and here's where the trouble starts. They are kept hanging for weeks and continually have to chase DJ Alexander. The flat was eventually let to another tenant, but this must have fallen through as it apperared on the market again. They contacted DJ Alexander and repeated their offer. They received an email saying the "landlord was willing to accept their offer" based on 2 conditions. Deposit raised from £500 to £1800 (that is steep) and Guarantor details passed over. They confirmed acceptance of the conditions and advised that at best it would have been that evening, or at worst, the following morning before they could deliver on the conditions. This all commenced at 1.09pm and on my return from work at 4.10pm I started the process of getting my Guarantor details pulled together. At 4.30pm my son received an email saying the flat had been let to someone else.I contacted DJ Alexander to professionally express my concern. I was advised by a Senior member of their team that the words "willing to accept their offer" was not acceptance and my sons failed to meet the conditions. We both work and that is almost a physical impossibility to pull off in les than 4 hours.I was provided by conciliatory words that they would try to help and I queried how genuine this was given the experience to date. The senior lead was taken aback by my query and appeared to be more concerned about that than the level of service provided. A dent to the male ego is a challenge for some.My summary is that they are students and at the bottom of the food chain of the rental market, despite their record of being good tenants. Also, demand outstrips supply, so companies can offer a poor level of service and get away with it.I was saddened to read these truly negative reviews and I note customer services normally reply with the stock "get in touch with us and we will try to help". This is just a ploy to soften the review. If you check your records I have been in touch.I am not going to advise whether you use this letting agency or not. That's for you to decide from the totality of the reviews. I would say to students, just be prepared for a journey and don't put all if your eggs in one basket.An awful experience and a shame that the young of today have to experience things like this.

GoogleGave my notice to quit to one of the members of staff and was then emailed the next day asking for my notice to quit from a different member of staff. Clearly can’t organise between themselves. Once I had my notice to quit accepted they then arranged flat viewings without contacting me. I was asleep when I was awoken by one of their members of staff trying to enter the flat. Fortunately I had the bolt across the door so they couldn’t get in. Even after I told the member of staff I had not been informed he still expected me to let them in. Had I not been home then they would have have been committing a criminal offence under the housing act by gaining access to my flat without giving notice and having authorisation. Service was great from Lee Hardy when moving in but was utter shambolic when it came time to leave. I wish I had read these reviews before using D.J. Alexander

GooglePathetic Letting Agency. Reported a maintenance issue, and seemed no one was getting back to me. When they finally contacted me, they said they would reach out to the landlord. After asking me, on three different occasions if they could pass my details onto the landlord, we finally made progress a month later. Now after leaving, the check out report is pathetic claiming ‘professional cleaning’ needs to be carried out for the slightest things, example, a single hair in the sink. Will never rent through D.J. Alexander again.

GoogleAbsolutely appalling! If I could give it a negative 5 I absolutely would! Ever since we decided to let with DJ Alexander, everything from there-on out has been absolute chaos! They rented out our parking bay which we are still contractually paying upwards of £200 per month for, have declined multiple maintenance requests to which now has caused an infestation of black mould to be found from previous tenants declined maintenance requests. Not only that, but the leaking from the washing machine, kitchen sink and dishwasher has caused an abundance of weak spots throughout the kitchen to be found, which in turn will most likely require the entire kitchen floor to be torn up as more than likely there will also be an infestation of mould underneath. Having been locked out of our flat more than twice, due to a faulty lock, upon hoping to show prospective tenants around the place, a member of the agency found himself confronting the faulty lock himself and then proceeded to get angry with us for tempering with his viewing. After multiple attempts and the snapping of a key, he then calls in a maintenance request and leaves us to wait with the prospective tenants until the lock smith shows up. After getting in touch with a few others, we have found that we are not the only ones who have had issues like this and that multiple landlords regret signing with DJ Alexander to rent out their homes. After much struggle we have decided that it be best to never rent with them in future and I would advise you all to keep this in mind the next time you are looking to rent/rent out your own homes.

USE ANYONE ELSE BUT THESE SCAM ARTISTS. It took DJ Alexander less than a year to force us to find a new place to live. Since day 1, we never dealt with the same agent twice; we kept being passed on to different young, clueless agents who would give us the wrong information. If we asked to speak to someone by name we always got "He/she is on vacation/not in the office." The right hand never knows what the left hand is doing! They broke our contract by ignoring our repeated maintenance requests. Most notably, they refused to send someone to fix our broken heaters in early January, whilst our elderly parents were visiting! One handyman told us DJ Alexander asked him to make sure repairs were done as cheaply as possible. Absolutely awful service! We moved after 8 months due to their negligence. If you have to use them, be sure to go over their initial inventory with a fine-tooth comb, because they will ignore glaring maintenance problems and then report them in their check-out inventory so you have to pay for the fixes.
