Lack of communication and customer care.

Unfortunately I am having a very difficult time with DJ Alexander at the moment and I am trying to become a new tenant! Communication back and forth for the change in tenancy was perfectly fine until the required documentation was sent over. I sent over all that was requested including my passport photo, payslips, proof of address, the lot and did not even receive a recognition email to confirm this was received. I had to reach out again the following week to check in, as I was concerned this confidential information did not reach them. I received a generic "we are working on it" response. Another week passes and I need to send ANOTHER chaser just to receive a reply asking for the same documents I had already send. I resend these, once again, no confirmation these were received. This is now over two weeks since the original documentation was sent and still no progress for a move in date which is fast approaching. I send another polite request for an update and again receive a generic reply with no information. Icing on the cake, they started the email with "Dear Jane,.." My name is Jess and this thread has been ongoing for over 3 weeks?What is going on here? I understand these are challenging times and have continued to be polite and empathetic in my approach. I understand these things can take time, but I do not think it is unreasonable to expect to be kept in the loop regarding your application. There are clearly some fundamental flaws when it comes to basic customer care and attention. Is this how I can expect future communications to be after I move in to the property, if I ever do?

I have been using DJ Alexander for around 2 years to rent out my property and paid around £2.5k in fees but had an absolutely shocking service from start to finish. They have not inspected the property regularly, the place has been wrecked by the tenants and they didn't even tell me when the tenants had given notice! The shower screen was broken off and in the livingroom, the place was filthy, damp in the bathroom, the front door frame has been damaged and the kitchen hob is now completely black. I have received one inspection report in 2 years and I've asked on multiple occasions where the rest are with no response. When I then advised I would be moving back into the property, they arranged for the check out to be done, but today I have just found them marketing my property on their website and Facebook. I called up and they even have viewings booked in for next week - when I am meant to be moving back in! Incompetent, would NEVER use again and would never recommend using. I am a first time landlord and I think they have taken advantage of the fact I am relatively inexperienced and just taken my money without giving a good service in return.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Value

Me and my partner were searching for a new flat and I think we all know how tedious the search for a place you can call home can be. We have had our fair share of interaction with other letting agencies in the past that has left us with a lot of reserve when searching for a flat, but I can safely say our experience with D.J Alexander was, simply put, amazing. From their letting agents to their finance and lease departments (special mentions to Mr. David Sullivan who showed us the flats and to Mr. Lee Charlton who took care of all the paperwork), everyone was friendly, quick, accurate and very professional. They were ready to answer all our equiries, they didn't apply any extra letting fees (something a lot of letting agencies do to their potential tenants without informing the tenants in advance (that has happened to us twice!)) and finally the whole process was over in a matter of days. Truly, we thank you for helping us find a place we can call home!
