We lived at a property managed by Easthams that was near Avenham Park for almost 2 years. During the time we lived there Easthams always took great care of us regarding service requests etc. We highly recommend them as an Estate agency property management team. Louise, Claire and Laura specifically are competent, reply promptly and are very professional with excellent customer service. Should we move back to Preston, we will definitely lease from them again.

Contacted this estate agent about a property I had seen online and wished to view. Started asking if I was in full time employment, I explained I wasn’t due to being disabled and currently receiving PIP. I was told the landlord is only allowed to accept working tenants as it’s a buy to let mortgage. I informed her about the recent ruling on banning housing benefit tenants and her response was yes but only if it’s discriminatory. Being unable to work because of a disability is therefore discriminatory if they are refusing to rent properties to someone. I’ve never had an issue paying rent before always on time and have a guarantor if one is ever needed, but clearly this estate agent ignore the recent court rulings and think they are above the laws.

Edit: The following day I was contacted (first thing) by a member of their team who took the time to explain to me what and why it had gone wrong, being incredibly sincere and helpful. As a potential client I felt heard and valued; this has restored my trust in their service and I look forward to viewing the properties they have coming up. Thankyou E&co. Disappointing: Had to take time out of work for the viewing and, (whilst waiting a while outside the property) called to make sure I had the right details. Apparently the agent had failed to let me know they had accepted another offer and weren’t coming. The office then attempted to tell me they had tried to call earlier in the day to let me know, (when what they had actually done was call and ask me to make sure I would be on time). It was also a little embarrassing when, (whilst I was waiting for a ride) the landlord showed up asking if I was the new tenant as they were about to show them round. Though the landlord seemed really nice and property looked beautiful, it is a shame the office failed to communicate with me; this was my first time hoping to rent through E&co - they had been recommended for being professional and helpful.

Easthams are an extremely professional organisation. From the initial appraisal to the actual letting of the property, they were always willing to advise on any aspect of letting. This was our first experience of letting so the choice of letting agent was critical. Easthams seemed to be the only letting agents in the area who had a 5 star rating. We therefore asked them to have a look at the property. After meeting Ed Eastham, we decided that we didn't need to consider any other agents. I would have no hesitation in recommending Easthams.

Everyone was really friendly at Easthams, and the process was rapid from what I remember. So far, any maintenance has been carried out quickly. Only reason for the 4-star is that (and this has happened everywhere we've moved) is that we weren't told where anything was or how anything works. It would be great to see letting agents providing the answers to these questions before being asked. Edit 2020: the heating was set up wrong for two years which has resulted in £1000 energy bill, the plumber who came to fix the bath rectified this - but too little too late. Here's the email where I was fobbed off and told to Google the model, and my final energy bill - plain lazy.

I would not hesitate in recommending Easthams to any Landlord or Tennant. As an auditor I can vouch for their thorough procedures. The staff including the directors keep you updated on the whole process. Having the letting management options means someone else can do the due diligence.

As recently as the beginning of July I instructed Ed and Matt Eastham, plus the 'Team' at Easthams, to let and manage a rental property of ours in Fulwood. Suitable tenants (a nice young professional couple) were matched immediately to our property and today, 29th July, they moved in! The service from start to finish of this initial process has been absolutely first class and I have no doubt the continuing management will be of the same high standard. Various minor works were required prior to move in and again these have all been dealt with in a professional and expedient manner. All the contractors selected on our behalf have been friendly, efficient, competitively priced and the standard of workmanship has been extremely good. I have every confidence in leaving these choices to those who know best. I am also pleased to know that, unlike many other Letting Agents, Easthams do not take any element of commission from introducing their various preferred contractors. They are merely happy to recommend knowing that the Landlord will be satisfied with the cost and standard of work. I am a Chartered Surveyor and I have had varying experiences of Letting Agents over many years. Generally I am not keen to make recommendations but I consider the service that I have received from Easthams to be unparalleled and therefore have no hesitation in wholeheartedly recommending them. Having had a dreadful experience with our previous agent, particularly when our last tenants moved out, we decided to try Easthams as they are a local family business. From our initial introduction we have been impressed with their professionalism. They treat their landlords, and I have no doubt their tenants as well, as though your property is their number one priority, always being on hand to advise and recommend. New tenants were quickly found and they have now seamlessly moved in. I though I would add to my first post how pleased I continue to be with Easthams. They have organised everything for me throughout the tenancy, e.g. the gas safe certificate and minor repairs, without any fuss and at a price cheaper than I could get them done. I'm a very happy landlord!
