i wrote another review to this company above and i was informed by the manager that it would be accepted by the lawyer . However i was told today that it will not because it is not within the 12/12 just expired. i have advised the manager today that i will inform people not to use this review simple because this home was reported to have all good reviews. I cannot see one bad review and this is because it cannot get published because it is breaking the law .lol as i mentioned i used this review and believed it to be true and it was not hence the poor care that my mother recieved developing category 3 pressure sores. i spoke the truth to be told it cannot be printed and i have to soften the words . please don,t use this website as it is a worse of time. My mother was an vulnerable adult that was neglected as stated in the social services report. be warned . please do your own investigation. dont rely on these reviews. we have to protect the vulnerable adult in home not cause them harm

Don’t use! Censorship at its best.

As other reviewers have said, this website is a joke. They don’t even publish facts. Their “policy” basically means anything less than a glowing review will not get published and in my opinion this makes them complicit. The care home I tried to review via them has killed my grandmother. They are based in Brierley Hill West Midlands and this website is currently showing they have 3 x 5 star reviews. This is false information and clearly highly censored. The ‘Rosey’ care home (read into that what you will) overdosed my grandmother with antipsychotics over a two week period, she collapsed. From being able to walk around, talk, function quite well, she was now unable to stand, talk or feed herself. She couldn’t even sit up. All government bodies that witnessed it knew what had caused this. She was rushed into hospital and died 2 weeks later. From the outset, the ‘managers’ of that ‘care’ home were absolutely disgraceful. They treated us like dirt. The only thing I wanted to do was inform people of FACTS. Any slight mention of negligence and this company will not review it! Surely if you are looking for a suitable care home for your loved ones you want a factual review and rely on companies such as this? And sadly when you type in the name of the care home + ‘reviews’ this is the first one that comes up. I would hope that anyone looking might do more thorough checks with the likes of social services before sending their loved ones to their peril but unfortunately we didn’t and because of companies like this. I don’t know how they’re still allowed to operate.

Late Notice Respite Stay

After contacting a couple of local care homes for respite care for my mother while we were on holiday we became a bit despondent as they either had no vacancies or didn't even reply. After contacting carehome.co.uk our contact, Holly, took our details so that she had a full understanding of our requirements and kept us informed of her progress in contacting homes on our behalf. Within a couple of days Holly had sent me the details of a home very close to us and the care home manager contacted us directly to talk through their offering. Due to Holly's understanding of our requirements it fitted the bill exactly and my mother had a really successful 11 night stay.

Concerned daughter in Cornwall

Finding a suitable care home is not easy, especially when you have never done it before. Carehome.co.uk talked me through the process and provided links to useful pages to research before I started viewing. My 'helper' listened carefully to what I was looking for and tried to provide a good list of suitable homes for me to consider - not too many in my area. I did think I'd have to make the initial approaches myself, but found that she had already sent out a number of enquiries on my behalf. The list was regularly updated for me as responses came through and I received several phone calls from local homes within days of seeking information. I'd say the service works very well and is particularly helpful with only one note of caution; the ladies cannot be expected to know the lie of the land in all areas and much of the research is done on line with mileage 'as the crow flies'. You may therefore find some of the recommendations are too far away to be practicable due to lack of local knowledge of road systems. Otherwise, great service.

Having to find a care home for a spouse, parent or close relative is both emotional and stressful as you really want to do your best to find the right environment for them.This site is an excellent resource to find the right care home for your loved one, if that sad situation arises. Just as important, using it you can very quickly weed out the ones to avoid like the plague!The depth of information about each home is very comprehensive which allows you to gauge whether a particular home can fulfil your loved ones care needs. This is backed up by reviews from service users and relatives, then on top of that there are links to CQC ratings and their official reports on how a home is performing.Whilst nothing beats a personal visit, the site allows you to make a manageable short list of care homes to visit before making your decision.I've used it twice in the last few years, first for my mum who lived a distance from me and then, sadly, for my wife; in both instances I found it invaluable to find the right care for both of them.

Very helpful advice and saves so much time

Very helpful and useful advice from Janene who provided a shortlist of nearby homes and arranged for care homes to contact us and gave them the information they needed. What is great about that is it saved me so much time as I would have had to phone so many places, repeating the information. Several homes contacted me with their details and within just a few days I found a nearby home, which is perfect and I have secured a place for my mum.
