Very good service especially when you begin looking into care homes for a close relative. The process can be quite daunting and difficult to know where to start. Carehome.co.uk sent guidance on entitlements and the process of getting care. They contacted all the homes in the locality who in turn contacted me with information about their service and availability. They certainly take some of the stress out of the process. I would certainly give them a try if you are new to this area.

Rushed in to this care home on a fast track after 30 homes rejected us my father stayed almost a year and a half. At all times my father was treated with care and kindness by all staff. His care was good and it let us as a family not worry about him being alone at home. They looked after him until he passed away this November and I can not thank them enough! 5 stars well deserved

A helpful portal of care homes, but as homes pay to be in the directory or to appear earlier in listings, it is hard to know how 'good' they really are. A friendly and fast helpline service - the staff seem knowledgeable and sympathetic, and supplied a helpful list of links to relevant articles. However, it is difficult to see how their homes shortlist would differ from simply browsing the directory for oneself - research methodology and selection criteria seems unclear. I feel the staff could take more care in their searches as unfortunately the wrong town was initially supplied to me.

I had to carry out a complicated search for a care home due to a number of factors that needed to be taken into account. If I had used the usual search facility it would have taken ages to come up with a shortlist so I got in touch with the team who were able to find me 6 care homes fitting my criteria. They supplied advice on what to ask in my visits and what to expect. As a result it took a lot of the stress and helped us quickly find a suitable placement. The who, what, where and when of searching for an appropriate care facility, can be quite difficult and confusing. The choice is extensive when trying to decide what type of care and where the care should be. I found carehome.co.uk on the internet and decided to call them. I explained what I thought my 95 year old dad, with advanced dementia, would need with regard to care. They researched this and came up with a small selection of local care homes that matched my requirements. This made the decision so much easier and simple to make, especially with the specific detail and reviews of each care facility. Good advice such as what questions to ask and who to ask, I found really essential in selecting the right environment.

I was just starting the process of finding a care home for my mum. Searching websites was time consuming and daunting. The Care Homes helpline service was excellent, taking time to understand my mum’s needs and our criteria for a home. They quickly pulled together a short list, providing information and links about the homes as well as some really useful links to information about the process, funding etc. I received a number of responses from care homes as a result and have now been able to find somewhere ideal for my mum.

The lady I spoke with was very polite and helpful and was very efficient at getting all the information to me and following up with any extra help that I might have needed. It took all the hard work and time out of looking for a good and appropriate home for my mum.I was given a small group of homes to view the details of in mums local area.The homes actually contacted me to see if we were interested in a visit, so again took the hassle out of the whole process. In the end my mum decided that she did not want respite care in a home but we still have all of that information for the future.

I used this site to find a care home for my husband in May 2022. I visited six homes and chose The Ild School House at Plympton as it is run as a home for dementia and looks like someone’s house. The modern homes felt like Travelodges and very impersonal. I used this site to leave a positive review as my husband has thrived in his new home especially as his medication has been greatly reduced. He is often asleep when I visit as he is so relaxed. All the staff are very caring.

This is a BRILLIANT service. We're looking for respire care for my disabled husband and it would have taken forever to ring round all the local care homes to establish which were best set up specifically to meet the needs of someone wheelchair bound with MS. The team did all that for us ascertaining our needs & coming back with a shortlist of places for us to view. They advised that current only one on the shortlist accepts pre-bookings for respite care. The norm is to have to leave it until just a couple of day in advance which is really impractical.. Very happy to recommend and have told our local Nth West MS Therapy Ctr all about them so they can recommend to their users too.
