I’ve recently completed a sale using Richard James having had a valuation done with two other estate agents as well. Communication was very good at the beginning from Josh and I decided to go with them to market my property. The showing agents we dealt with were all helpful and friendly so no issues there. Upon going live, it was fairly slow going which I understand with covid 19 around, was to be expected. A couple of viewings were booked with a couple not showing up however I wasn’t made aware of this until the following day which is policy I’m told but would have been appreciated having been ready around the corner to return home. Two sets of keys were lost throughout the process which frustrated me as these were not labelled up properly, this resulted in my buyer turning up for her first viewing and not being able to get in as they had the wrong keys with them and chose not to ring me to come around and let them in. Fortunately she did return the next day and since bought the property so in the end, no harm done. During the after sale process, I dealt with Jo. She proved to be very helpful indeed with progressing the conveyancing process and sluggishly slow solicitors from the buyers side so I thank her for that. I doubt exchange of contracts would have been achieved at the point it did without Jo’s chasing up and persistence. Overall, I’d certainly recommend Richard James to anyone but they do need to iron out the key situation to make things more stress free for me as a customer.

Excellent service from Richard James at their Stratton office. From the first meeting with Mark, through to Alana doing the viewings and the other guys involved we were kept informed al of the way. Special mention for Sharon who was the "progress chaser" for Richard James, constantly in touch and doing her best to bring the sale to a swift conclusion - even if she did decided to go on holiday just before contracts were exchanged and completion went through!! It is very unfortunate I have to give a bad review after a good moving in process. I moved in to a house with jo in January she was very accommodating and very easy to speak to. everything was sorted very quickly with no problems at all and she was very professional. Moving out however has been an absolute nightmare. I began speaking to the agents middle of July to get my deposit back at the end of the month when I moved out. (with the landlords permission and approval). They will just not give my money back, even though I was promised my deposit returned at the start of the month they have promised 4 dates that they will give it back to me and have not done it every time and not even called to let me know. every time I call them up they make an excuse and promise a new date and fail to deliver every time. we are now on the 19th of august and they still have not returned my deposit. its a shame that the standard they give to moving in isn't the same as the aftercare or when you leave the deposit. I am gutted as the team I dealt with at the start where so good. I have been waiting for my money for a month now and especially in this time where money is tight is not fair on the customer at all.
