TrustpilotTerrible service.
Terrible service. Lied about my buyer being a first time buyer, he was in fact selling his own property and I accepted a lower price on the basis that it should’ve been a quick sale but 5 months later I don’t have a completion date and my buyer’s buyer threatening to pull out. The conveyancer they recommended (Taylor Rose) are shockingly bad. Slow, do not chase or keep you in the loop at all and either Barnard Marcus or the conveyancer they recommended breached GDPR legislation by passing my email address on to my buyer without my permission. Update: I have now completed and not heard from Barnard Marcus at all since exchanging contracts 2 weeks ago. I ended up contacting the buyer directly on completion day and handing over the keys myself!

TrustpilotPart 1: Avoid if you're looking for a rental through Barnard Marcus, everything is made into a huge faff and staff are rude.
I locked myself out in slippers, no phone, no payment method. Had to use my neighbours phone to ring BM. Spoke to a rude agent who said they wouldn't be able to give my key without ID. How am I meant to have ID when I'm locked out.You ask for many documents during reference that can be used to verify identity. Even my name is enough, how would I know what name to make up to match your system if I wasn't the tenant?Staff refused to bring the key over despite it being a 4 minute ride, I don't believe for a second no one had a car to use.Luckily my neighbour drove me to the office. The whole ordeal was so unnecessarily tedious & no one could even fake empathy - a reoccurring trend with all maintenance & SECURITY issues. You're not doing me a favour by giving me the spare key you're doing the service that you're paid to provideI've paid 27k to date to live in this cesspit, the least you can do is help & not make it such an inconvenience & have attitude.I don't ever message about small maintenance, every issue raised has been a big deal & you always air my emails & ghost me. You say people are coming for appointments and no one shows and no one contacts. The only thing I have reported in the last 18 months has been: - A sewage leak in the garden, flooded the whole garden and biohazard waste was not properly removed. My personal items were used and contaminated - brooms and mops were used and left behind, no substitutes given. Which I then had to dispose of.- Someone tried to BREAK IN to my garden and kicked a massive hole in my door and busted the lock. I'm a single woman living alone, not only was that a scary experience to happen on its own but it was exasperated by BM not taking it seriously. I had to repeatedly call the phone line to beg someone to be called out to lock my property & protect my belongings.- The garden fence is precariously balanced on crumbling brickwork. Every time there was strong wind it would fall lower and lower until it collapsed. didn't use the garden for the whole time I lived there as it was such a crappy environment to be in, biohazard pun intended. The fence issue was reported by the neighbours on the other side, I reported it, it was left for months until the other neighbours had enough and came to my door to complain and ask for the landlords number directly. It put me in an awkward position with the neighbours as they thought I wasn't reporting it/ didn't care.Eventually the fence completely collapsed and only then was someone booked. This wasn't the end of the saga.BM sent a random company round who had no idea what they were there for, they knocked on my door and said they were here to fix a LEAK in my ROOF??? that was leaking into the neighbours. No issue existed. I had to refuse this contractor coming back when they had the correct information, what sort of trust does that build with a client when you need to come into their personal space. Finally the fence was repaired and painted but again my objects were defaced and my items were used as a paint pot and left to dry on the side.- I've lived for the last 18 months unable to take my bike out and use the street door because when it was finally boarded, the whole wall build and repair was deemed too expensive to work on. My bike does not fit through the hallway so I've had to leave it there and not have an experience I enjoy for my whole tenancy. The last few weeks I have had to harass BM until they came to unboard the red door so that I can remove all of my belongings, sofa, bookcase through the garden which is the route it came in. The days got closer and closer to the van date which I've booked a deposit for & left me in so much stress thinking I wouldn't be able to get my furniture out.On top of all of this terrible service and unnecessary stress - the property is grossly overvalued for its condition. In colder months all the heat is sucked out of the poorly insulated kitchen (which connects to the garden). It means I have to pump the heating out year round, even in June!I could no longer afford the astronomical council tax which is somehow in the highest bracket for the borough, as well as bills and the insane rent of £1,550.I had to take 4 jobs and work nights to keep paying to live at this place, when I fell behind on rent (you'd think there would be some empathy-right?)Wrong - I got called &text by Anton who was so unbelievably rude, I had to block him. Going off about how I could possibly be late on rent, when it was gonna be fixed, why didn't I tell /him/, their last tenant had this issue. I took appropriate steps & had a payment plan with FINANCE at the time. I do not appreciate the way he spoke to me and made me feel worse about a situation that was already making me feel sick. This is not appropriate pressure to apply to someone in a bad financial situation under enough stress. Surely an estate agent would have awareness of the cost of living crisis

TrustpilotBarnard Marcus Hammersmith Auctions
I never dealt with Barnard Marcus Hammersmith Auctions. I then find out that they have illegally advertised my property online without my consent. I spoke to the manager over the phone, but He denied responsibility. Now I am going to take the matter with Ombudsman and legally. Very unprofessional and lack of trasparency.

They misled me and continued to show the property without telling me if I needed to offer more. They will sell only if you take the loan from them and use their solicitors etc. DO NOT TRUST THEM AT ALL! this agency should be banned -

TrustpilotUnlawful Actions Resulting in Financial Loss
The worst experience I have ever had with a letting agent. A case for small claims court but the entire experience has been so exhausting I just want to close the chapter and be done with it.

TrustpilotBarnard Marcus Property Auctions cannot be trusted
I don't trust the online auctions from this company. Many bids are made up by the auctioneer to push-up prices. I have lost my life savings for a house that was totally misrepresented via a proxy bid which was run-up by the auctioneer. Other bidders often do not exist. They have no scrupples and worse than second hand car salesmen. Nothing they say or do can be trusted. If you are the winning bidder and then realise there is something seriously wrong with the house do not give them their money.Dont listen to thier line that 'exchange happening on fall of the hammer.' This is not true. If you find out something serious between putting down a deposit and exchange, then do not exchange! Many people are taking this company to court. According to the Auction House they do not keep records of bidders online anyway. They do no due diligence on information provided and give you no time to check auction packs or see the property once all disclosures are made (usually the night before the auction).

GoogleThe Barnard Marcus Team were outstanding and would certainly recommend. We sold our Father’s house which was a long complicated situation which could have collapsed at many stages. BM were helpful and patient and luckily all went through smoothly in the end. A heartfelt thank you to Amy for being calm and professional especially when answering all my questions and worries. You will be in good hands if you work with this Estate Agents.

Ready to go to court as a result of Barnard Marcus auction where I bid on a property and seller didn't have the right to sell. They don't do due diligence on their sellers so now in a position I've paid £20k deposit with an agreed completion date where the seller can't even complete - thanks Barnard Marcus for doing your due diligence (there is a regulator in your line of biz and will be in touch with them) Liz George

TrustpilotI will never deal with this…
I will never deal with this agent(Barnard Marcus Chiswick)again and advise others to stay away from them. All they care about is taking their commission. If you have problems with your tenants, they are never there to help. They placed a terrible tenant in my flat who left it damaged and neglected the garden, causing complaints from neighbors. Whenever I tried to contact the office, there was no response. When I visited the office, I was told that the manager and staff were in meetings and had to wait for a long time, only to have my issues ignored.

TrustpilotThe whole point of an auction is the…
The whole point of an auction is the uncertain gamble of a bargain. I watched today for one hour and only half of the property’s where sold. The winning bidder had apparently not reached the target of what the seller wanted. The place I looked out for had a guide price of £130000.the winning bid of £170000 was apparently not enough, with no mention beforehand of any reserve.when i asked why putting in that case such low guide price i was told it was to encourage Interest.I can see why some people want a minimum price but then have the guts to tell us before. If this way of doing auctions isn’t challenged,in no time the vast majority will be like this?I can see how the auctioneers tell their clients;Put it in the auction, lots of people will look at it.and if you don’t get what you want, then we won’t sell to the bidder.

TrustpilotA cheating and dangerous auction agent
A cheating and dangerous auction agent. I bought a property in Blackpool in 2019. They advertised the property as a freehold worthed 10,000 at 75-77 Caunce Street, FY1 3NDI did not see legal pack properly and then ended up with the bills including their auctionee fee of 35,000 pounds. The nasty thing of the property I bought turned out a long leasehold 999 years and I have to pay rent, service charge etc and that is very surprising and dangerous .It caused and ruined my financial aspect and life. It took almost 4 years for years to repay the debt.I take them to the property authority but they did not do much. I intended to take them to the Court for misleading the public but have no money to pay legal fee.The authority should shut down this nasty auction agent. After you did so bad and dangerous things, karma will come back to you one day and let karma do all the work.

I used Barnard Marcus Redhill to sell a flat via the ‘I am sold’ auction site. BM initially got the lease period incorrect and even though they were told they still went to the market with this incorrect information . Throughout the auction process there was a disconnect with BM and I am sold auction house. I was advised that I should be chasing I am sold to see whether people who were interested had made contact. Very difficult to get hold of I am sold. We were then advised to reduce the asking price and the reserve which we did . We eventually held an auction but there were no bidders . We withdraw from the market and sacked I am sold and BM . They still continue to market my flat at the wrong price even though the auction period has lapsed and they have been dismissed. Do not use BM and I am sold, is my advice .

TrustpilotConditional selling of mortgages
This company forces you to use their mortgage brokers service no matter what! More often than not they cant beat the deal you have and if you disagree with them they force you out! Please make sure you report them to trading standards as they have been getting away with it for years and enough is enough. I worked for them and could not believe what I experienced. I am in the process of speaking with Trading Standards and hopefully it looks like they are going to be investigated again. If we keep doing it eventually they will be fined or worse told to cease trading now that would be great!!

GoogleThe team at Ewell worked tirelessly in a professional manner to ensure that the right buyer was found for our property. Even during the lock down they made sure that someone was available to provide us will updates of our sale. Many thanks to Amy, Mark and especially Lucy who progressed the sale through to exchange of contracts.
