Kudos and thanks to East Finchley team!

I am an East Finchley/Muswell Hill resident who has been living in the area for over 10 years and dealt with multiple estate agents for lettings and sales. I walked into the East Finchley office not expecting much, but I was greeted with attentiveness and warmth by Sophie Wilkins. Sadly the property I wished to rent was gone already, but Sophie was super quick in finding me an even better one, arranged a viewing and went above and beyond in the contract prep process. Panikos Marla, her manager, was very prompt and helpful whenever I visited the office or had questions by email, phone, or text. They are such a nice, professional team that I wouldn't hesitate to work with them again as I know I and my network would be well-looked-after. Thank you so much Sophie and Panikos!

Very Positive experience

I was very happy with my experience in letting my property with Martyn Gerrard. Sophie Wilkins was most helpful in organising a relatively quick exchange of contracts, which was slightly unusual due to my new tenant currently living abroad. She even arranged a zoom call for me with the new tenant so we could all ‘meet’ and sorted out one or two slightly complicated issues for us so both sides were happy.

I have just had what is probably my best Estate Agent experience yet with Martin Gerard in Crouch End. I popped in - without an appointment - to discuss my requirement in person & was met with a professional & friendly Agent - Usman. He listened to my specific rental requirement & instantly grasped why I wanted a particular kind of property & a nice, family orientated Landlord.We found my house on first go! And even though I don’t need to move for some months, the MG team discussed my requirement in detail with property owners & we seem to be an ideal match. Deal done & processed in 2 days.Overall, I dealt with three different personnel in the office. Anthony - Sales Manager, Usman & Claire from the Lettings Team. A great team.Anthony & I experienced a frightening accident on a street by the new property (on leaving my second viewing) where a young child had caught his hand in a Lime bike. I was impressed at Anthony’s swift action & kindness to the boy & his Grandmother. Again, a personal touch from clearly what is a great company, who know their market, understand their clientele from Landlord & Tenant perspective.Highly recommend!

This review has been edited to respond to Martyn Gerrard. Yes, you were correct in stating that if the reference doesn't go through, we will lose our deposit. However, I clearly informed you that I did not want to use online banking, and I was given the option to decline at the start of my application. I provided all the other requested information, which matched perfectly. Despite this, I was told that my payslips looked like something that could be bought off eBay. I also offered a guarantor to support my application, but this was rejected. I then offered to pay six months' rent upfront, which was also rejected, followed by an offer to pay one year's rent upfront, which was still rejected. I only wanted that house because it was close to family. I would advise everyone to ask all the necessary questions and be cautious to avoid being scammed by this company. Beware of this real estate company, they're dishonest. They pressure you to pay a deposit before discussing your salary and then demand reference checks. Even after I provided all necessary documents, they insisted on accessing my bank account, despite my refusal from the start. They threatened to keep my deposit if I didn't comply, even though connecting to open banking was supposed to be optional. If they give you an option, you shouldn't lose your deposit for choosing not to connect.
