Tom is extremely unprofessional and dishonest. We accepted an offer back in May from a buyer on the basis that the buyer was a cash purchaser. We were then told in July that this was not the case and he was applying for a mortgage. Only when we were ready to exchange and complete in August the buyers solicitors informed us that the buyer had a related transfer of equity, unbelievable. We were told it could take up to 6 months to sort out. We were very disappointed about being kept in the dark about this so late in the transaction. Had we been privy to this we would not have accepted the offer in the first place.We are very disappointed that Gascoigne Pees failed to disclose the buyers circumstances and allowed us to accept an offer under misrepresentation. Failing to check funding as part of the basics of accepting an offer. We had packed 90% of our belongings and hired a removal company and paid £2,000 and unbeknown to us the buyer had a related transfer of equity all along and that it could take the buyer 6 months to get their name removed from the deeds. This left us in a very vulnerable position. We lost our onwards purchase and the house we loved so much. We tried to cancel our contract and were told by Tom that we had to give 28 days notice. We asked as a gesture of goodwill if they could release us from the contract without the notice and this was declined as we were told we would be breaching the contract. My husband tried to reason with them and Tom accused him of bribery. Absolutely unbelievable and would never use again. Stay away from using this company. Absolutely diabolical. We would’ve given 0 stars but this wasn’t an option.

GoogleGascoigne Pees have been quite outstanding at taking care of us from start to finish. Leo has been our point of contact throughout and he has kept us informed and has been thoroughly professional through every up and down. We put our house up for sale in December 2019 knowing that we didn't want to move until March 2021. Little did we realise when we put the house on the market that Covid was around the corner. This meant that our buyers pulled out due to loss of work and yet through all of this Leo has been calm and reassuring. We have completed the sale today and we cannot recommend this agency enough. It was a little unnerving with all the different permutations and handling viewings through Covid but Leo kept in touch with us, keeping us informed, his communication was excellent. GoogleAs a first time buyer I viewed quite a few properties with different agencies and found that some were quite dismissive as I was looking at the lower end of the price range. Andrew at Gascoigne Pees was so friendly and helpful I wanted to find my property through him. He gave me several options to consider, going out of his way to understand what I wanted and get me viewings ASAP. He was very professional and responsive, keeping in touch and making me feel supported throughout. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him - if I buy again I will be in contact!

I find it almost laughable how this letting agency behaves. When you’re signing a contract, they bend over backwards to act friendly and helpful, but the second you’re moving out, the entire façade collapses. Their true colors show, and suddenly you’re dealing with rudeness, attitude, and a complete lack of basic professionalism. My experience with this agency at the end of my tenancy was extremely negative, and one staff member in particular, Freya, made the situation even worse. In my opinion, she spoke to me with absolutely no respect and seemed to think that talking to tenants in a dismissive, condescending manner was acceptable. From my interaction with her, it’s clear she has a lot to learn about how to communicate professionally. Some of the comments she made were completely unnecessary, and honestly, she would benefit from learning when it’s better to keep certain remarks to herself rather than speaking to people the way she did. This kind of attitude is unacceptable in any customer-facing role, and I strongly believe she needs proper customer service training. My overall impression is that she is not equipped to speak with tenants in a respectful or professional way, and that absolutely needs to be addressed. No member of staff has the right to speak to me the way she did. Because of this, I will be taking this complaint further through the appropriate channels, and I will be sharing my experience publicly so other tenants are aware of how they may be treated. This kind of behaviour is unacceptable, and I refuse to let it go unaddressed.

These agents in Basingstoke pressured me into making a holding deposit after seeing a property that I was interested in. I provided all the details for reference checks. They later came back telling me that my employers declined giving a reference until my probation is ended which is no fault of mine. I have contacted my employers personally on more than one occasion to get this sorted out, but was not successful. This agency contacted me requesting for a guarantor and as a foreigner, I could not provide the needed guarantor (UK home owner with £44k annual salary). The next few hours, the property was back on the market without saying anything to me about my holding deposit. When I contacted them, they told me I have provided false and misleading information (failed reference checks) which was very shocking to me. Avoid them at all cost.

I cannot thank Emily (head of lettings, Farnham office) enough for finding me new tenants after poor experience with previous agent (a completely different company.) She achieved a 35% increase in gross rent for me, too! I noted more proactivity in 3 weeks from GPees than in 3 years from their predecessors. I was kept fully informed before and after every viewing, and despite most viewings taking place in appalling wet weather there was never a sign of recent footfall across the brand new carpet. If I could give them six stars, I would!
