Very disappointing experience with Gascoigne-Pees. We had a viewing booked for 9:45am. Just three minutes before the appointment, I received a call to “confirm” the viewing, which already seemed rather odd given the timing. When we arrived, nobody was there. I emailed and called back, as I was in the middle of a work call and certainly wasn’t expecting a last-minute confirmation call three minutes before an already confirmed appointment. My partner waited outside the property for more than 15 minutes, but no one ever showed up. More than 20 minutes after the scheduled viewing time, I finally received a call from Lauren. There was no real explanation or apology for the no-show, just a question asking whether we would like videos of the property instead. Extremely poor communication and a complete lack of professionalism. If you arrange a viewing, the very minimum is to either attend it or let the client know in advance if something has changed.

In the process of renting a flat with my wife and we had Antonio give us a viewing yesterday. He was super friendly and patient, answered any questions we gave him or gave an honest answer if he wasn't sure. We were able to make an offer on the property on the same day and got a call the next morning to say we had been accepted. Whenever I have called Gascoigne-Pees, they've picked up, Antonio was also accommodating with changing our viewing times at the last minute. Really good service, I'm sure the next part of the process will be just as smooth and I feel like we're in good hands :)

I could not fault the team at GPees Esher. From my first enquiry with Connor who introduced me to a property I would have otherwise overlooked (and ending up buying!) to Tom who was there proactively at every step of the process, I felt prioritised and informed throughout. They made what could have otherwise been a very stressful experience as a solo first time buyer, exciting, human and personal (a stark contrast to the solicitor experience which Tom was a pro a helping me navigate) I still owe you guys a card and thank you gift! Moved out weeks ago and I’m pretty sure the landlord is using carrier pigeons to send replies from 1842. Should’ve requested my deposit back before I even signed the lease, might’ve gotten an answer by now. Rang them so many times just chasing an update that the hold music is practically my new ringtone. Then out of nowhere, they randomly skim cash off my deposit for "Council Tax." When I asked for an actual receipt or an official council statement, they sent over a random, blurry screenshot of a bank transaction like it’s top-secret classified evidence. The council laughed when I showed them and wouldn't even recognize it as valid proof. Asked multiple times for an actual official invoice or proper receipt, but getting one out of this team is harder than pulling teeth. Deducting random amounts with zero verifiable paperwork and taking two business weeks just to formulate a reply. absolute circus. 1 star.

This is a completely untrustworthy company. I paid a holding deposit for a property in the same day they requested , this means that the agency should holding the property for us. However, the agency noticed me that they could not hold the property after one week they received the money. We already prepared to move in. More worthy, the agency did not refund the deposit yet! Despite the agent repeatedly promised that the money would be refunded “soon”. However, despite multiple follow-ups, the deposit has still not been returned. Very disappointing experience and extremely poor professionalism. I would strongly advise future tenants to be very careful before paying any money to this agency and make sure everything is confirmed in writing. I am now considering escalating the matter to the Property Ombudsman and Trading Standards.

I ended up purchasing a property that was being sold by Gascoigne Pees in Esher and, even though I wasn't the client paying their fee, Andrew Malcolm went above and beyond on my behalf and was brilliant from start to finish. There were several hiccups in the chain below me but Andrew's insight, diligence and excellent communication skills were absolutely key in keeping the chain intact and getting the deal over the line. He was a pleasure to deal with - highly professional, friendly, super quick to respond to any query. I can't recommend highly enough.
