By far the best agency I’ve dealt with as a tenant. Moving during lockdown is obviously something new to everyone and Umega, despite working remotely, perfectly co-ordinated everything for us. We have pets so there’s been so much to think about finding the right place for them. This agency are fast, fun and professional. Lucy and Storm made the whole process slick and straight forward. A potentially complicated situation made very easy by these women! Everything went well until it didn’t and the property owners moved abroad with the top up key for electricity. (Lucky pair!) There I was yesterday running around Edinburgh trying to get a key as the electricity had 10p remaining! Gemma to the rescue! The electric cut off this morning so we combined forces with Ailsa and William calling and going to shops until we found what we needed eventually! Genuinely so impressed and touched by these awesome people going the extra mile for me.
The people who work at Umega in Edinburgh are world class and they will look after you very well!

GoogleWe applied for a place in Whitson, they sent the application to the wrong landlord about an address in Newington. When they acknowledged the error, they claimed it was then sent to the correct landlord and within 1hr 30 minutes they had rejected the application and decided to go with another tenant and were taking a deposit from them.
Effectively, the application was too late to be considered by the correct landlord as Umega originally sent it to the wrong person. This error has cost us the opportunity of this property.
I would not recommend Umega.
EDIT: Rebecca has now admitted they decided not to proceed with the application rather than the landlord. In short, Umega lied in the first instance.

I have taken a look over the application process here. The current market is moving very quickly, and is very competitive. It's not unusual for a property to be snapped up within the hour. We're happy to support tenants to strengthen their applications for future to aid them in their search as we know finding the perfect home at the moment isn't easy. We're so sorry to read that you won't be recommending Umega. It is unfortunate that a small error was made here and left you feeling disappointed. With dealing with the volumes we are, these things can happen, and I can see efforts were made to remedy. We wish you the best of luck with your search for the perfect home. GoogleEasy enough to deal with given the other options in Edinburgh. If you have an issue in the flat they will take their sweet time to fix or send you google articles on how to fix it yourself. Their cleaning fee at the end of tenancy is a bit ridiculous but then again all agencies take advantage of this even though flats are not clean when you get the keys. Lastly their start and end of tenancy revisions are not at all held by the same standards so take your own pictures of everything when you move in and I mean everything even a single hair on the carpet that isn't yours.

GoogleI currently rent a flat in Edinburgh and I’ve had various problems over the last year. The main issue is relating to a window which can’t be closed and swings open when there is a strong wind.
This problem has been ongoing for well over 6 months. Umega has done nothing to correct the issue.
I have never experienced such a terrible service before. I’m now very worried about winter and the increased cost of heating my flat.
I would not recommend Umega.
