Terrible experience from start to finish. First they said the flat would be repainted and have new furniture. However on move in date not one thing had been done and it wasn't even ready to move in. I had to stay n a freind's sofa for 2 weeks and put my own stuff in storage. Then when the tenancy ended they tried to retain over £200 of my deposit. I wrote demanding the money be returned and they did but only because they had to through the deposit protection scheme. Just an awful company.

Rented a property in the South-side of the city from Grant Property for around a year. No issues with the viewing or sign-up processes, and the property was in good condition when I moved in. I had a couple of issues throughout my tenancy, a faulty boiler and a leak from a flat above. Both issues were dealt with quickly and efficiently by the property manager Lilian. On leaving, I used their guaranteed clean service, the inspection was turned around in a few days and I got my full deposit back without any issues. Thanks again!

It is clear through their responsiveness, flexibility and support that Grant Property cares for its tenants and the image of letting agencies in the area. In particular, property manager Katie McIntosh has been extremely attentive to our needs in regards to repair/maintenance requests and any of our queries, and I suspect this reflects the spirit of the rest of the team. We have very much enjoyed our stay in our 4-person flat in Edinburgh and I highly recommend their services.

I am currently in the process of moving from one Grant Property flat in Edinburgh to another, and so far everything has been very professional. Any issues with the flat are dealt with very quickly and all the staff are very helpful. As one of the previous reviewers said, GP seem to be trying very hard to solve some of the issues plaguing the Scottish rental market. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy letting agent!

I had a very unprofessional experience with this agency. We have booked a viewing for 12PM and were there at 12:05 because we couldn't find the right door. I called the agency to check if they could help us out because most flats didn't have number on them. I wasn't offered any help and the agent didn't have any knowledge on this property address and the viewing scheduled at all. Then I called again to ask if they could call the agent supposed to be there to let us know which door is it, and all I got was an arrogant answer that he left the building at 12 when there was no one at the door, which is ridiculous because there were 4 people waiting in front of the building, not knowing which flat it was we were supposed to be viewing. We were very disappointed that we only wasted our time and the agent left after one minute when all the potencial tenants couldn't find the right door. Actually, in the end browsing through all these negative comments here I'm glad we never saw the flat because I'm sure doing any business with this agency could be a nightmare. I definitely do not reccomend searching for a property with this agency!

Fine initially, but maintenance is slow and beware when you want to move out. They take you for a ride, I wouldn't be surprised if they were lining the pockets of their friends in the 'deep' cleaning industry with exorbitant charges for crumbs and dirty exteriors of windows. >£100 (what I was charged) is at least 10 hours cleaning at a normal rate, and this would have been enough time to clinically sterilize the place. Take detailed photos when you move in, because they will accuse you of leaving 'garbage' behind that was present when you moved in such as mattress protectors etc. Get written statements of what you are and are not responsible for doing and get them signed (window cleaning etc). Also, keep a close eye on your bank account as overcharging has been known to happen. Or better still, ignore all these tips and go with a more reputable lettings agency.

I have to give one star for the frankly dismal treatment I received from Grant Property. I understand that properties in Edinburgh are leased very quickly, and guarantees can not be made, however this does not excuse such poor behaviour. We had arranged a viewing at 3PM, and upon concluding the viewing (myself and two other gentlemen had viewed the property at the same time), I immediately made a phone call wishing to make clear my interest and move forward, only to be informed that a deposit for the property had been accepted some 20 minutes earlier! Why could they not have informed us sooner that the property had been secured by someone else, rather than wasting our time with this farce? Or could they not have held off on progressing further until our viewing had been concluded? I accept that they can not give us preferential treatment, but I feel this way of doing business simply wasted the time of all involved. Furthermore, as they oversee the entire process, I feel it is entirely within Grant Property's power to implement a fairer system, rather than letting us get our hopes up, only to find that the very property we were viewing would never be available to us. Suffice to say, in future I will look elsewhere when searching for rental properties in Edinburgh.
