MOV8 Property Sale

MOV8 have recently dealt with the sale of our property in Edinburgh. When I first contacted them they quickly set up valuations, surveys etc and got the property on the market. I was kept informed of viewings and feedback. The eventual purchaser did struggle to arrange a viewing at a time that suited her however, feeling the company was too big to act quickly. Once the offer was made MOV8 accommodated a request for an earlier settlement date (5 weeks rather than the standard 8).Alan Craig, the legal consultant, dealt with the conveyancing process in a professional manner throughout, keeping me updated regularly and happily dealing with any questions I had.I was recommended MOV8 by my son and I would certainly recommend them to anyone looking for value for money.

From the first phone call to start the process Mov8 were professional and helpful. Each step was explained to us in detail with costs already agreed. We sold our property in two weeks and in that time Mov8 emailed us each day to keep us in the loop. Also the online portal made it easy for us to check in for viewings, offers, etc. I would definitely use Mov8 again and would have no hesitation in putting their name forward to any friends or family selling or buying a property. very rude company especially courtney

very rude company especially courtney! got rung this afternoon by the company about a enquiry made yesterday morning. I left my contact number twice and received no contact so we made the decison to go with another solicitor frim that has been really helpful. when courtney rang back the next day in the afternoon she was extremley rude at the fact we decided to go with a different firm quized me on who the firm we had gone with and rudely explained that she had rung my partner 3 times with no answer yesterday. When i left my contact number with two of her employess to ring me back on in my name not my partner name. Due to my partner being at work and cannot answer phone calls which makes no sense why she would ring my partner 3 times no answer yesteday and then finally ring me back the next day in the afternoon on my number which i asked to be contacted on the previous day with two of her employees. just a really rude uncalled for experience which makes no sense because your allowed to go with whatever firm best suits your needs and the only thing you got out of being rude is a negative review we wont go with your firm for any future busines and either will we recommend to anybody else looking for a solicitor ! just important to point out this was a enquiry and had not agreed any work with this firm.

An entirely pain-free process thanks to Mov8

I have never been involved with a property sale before and was worried about the complexities but Mov8 made it all very simple and pain-free. Because they have departments that cover all parts of the process including sale, conveyancing, and solicitors, there were no awkward hand-offs or the kind of issues my buyer had of having to work with different parties and keep them talking to each other to move things along. Mov8 kept me informed at every turn and were helpful in answering questions. I’d definitely use them again.

Left homeless with additional fees and no communication

This is the third review I have written as I have taken 2 reviews down previously after being told I’d be helped and promised some of my fees back to to the service issues I had but this did not prevail. This company are absolutely shocking and don’t know what’s going on between them. I was left homeless having to sleep on a sofa at my parents house as my settlement date was 4 weeks after the recommended settlement date. The reason for this…… communication! Well the very lack of it. My initial settlement date was the 14th January. I received the first email from my case worker on the 7th January asking for details of my lender. This was where the fun began. The additional fees came out of no where! I was told a couple days before my settlement date that it was unlikely to settle in this date and it was recommended I ask for an extension on my rental. 3 times I had to ask and on the 3rd time this was declined which left me and my daughter homeless, and having to vacate the property in the Monday having to put all my items in storage and staying elsewhere. I tried to call numerous times to my case worker and never yet did I speak with her. I was told she was on the phone or away home etc. I had not and still don’t know what took 4 weeks to rectify as the emails I received were in law jargon and I didn’t understand, they did however try to blame it on taking the time to deal with other conveyancing solicitors however this was not true as I was made aware that no other company had been involved in the property as it had not been sold since the 1980’s. I felt like I have been a burden and not a customer. The representation has been shocking and it has left me no alternative than to take my complaint further as advices on the law society of Scotland’s website. The first review I wrote, I took down as a director told me he would help if I took it down and he would remove any additional fees I had not been advised about prior to the week of settlement. As he failed to help me with my case I wrote one again and because I did this he said he would be removing the offer of helping with the additional fees and if I continued to act so inappropriately they would no longer be representing me. I then took this further to the managing director and this is where he had decided I should have my fees reduced due to service issues. Anyway very long story but I have never in my whole 44 years been treated so badly by a company representing me. This has affected me in many ways firstly financially, however emotionally and physically as well as the stress made me unwell. I have decided to write this now as I reminded the managing director about his promise to me and he asked the director to look in to this, needless to say I have basically been told to have a nice life and they would not be refunding any of the fees. I am so glad I keep all of my emails.

If you are looking to purchase a new property, do not look anywhere else. Upon initial view, buying in the current market climate seems like diving into a pool of stress. Our experience with Mov8 from start to finish was excellent. They are more competitive than traditional estate agents but this does not mean you receive a poorer service. In fact the overall service level was very good, with regular communication updating us at each stage of the process.
