Absolutely fantastic communication…

Absolutely fantastic communication throughout the process of selling and buying my property from various members of the team. No question was too small, simple or silly and everyone exhibited patience, provided much reassurance and ensured that I understood their responses. I have been kept up to date during all stages of this process via email and telephone and it has really helped build my trust and have faith that everything will work out...which it has! I'm really grateful for the help and support I've received and would highly recommend Mov8 to everyone!

Won’t use again unfortunately

We used MOV8 for the sale of our old house and purchase of a new build. The legal side of the company was fine but we felt their communication could have been better especially after the purchase had concluded. I had to chase for legal documents from the builder whereas I would think this is something our solicitor should be doing given we are paying a fee for them to provide us with these.The estate agency side was really bad. Communication between the estate agency and the legal departments seemed to be almost non existent from our perspective.We actually had to pay 33% more than the quote for their conveyancing fee due to some additional costs that arose such as ID checks which I think should be included in the quote as it’s a standard check.The two main things that will result in us not using MOV8 again are:- We received a letter from MOV8 11 days after the letter was dated stating that the purchaser, who we had already accepted an offer on, was also a client of theirs and there may be a conflict of interest. MOV8 didn’t pay the correct postage on the envelope which resulted in the delay. This is highly unprofessional for a law firm (again bad communication). They did actually offer to reimburse us for the cost we paid to have the letter delivered by the Royal Mail but this never materialised.- We were only notified that we had a £95 fee to pay due to our buyer wanting a short entry date…after we had already negotiated a counter offer/date with them twice. If we had known this we would have asked for the offer to be increased by £95 but it was too late by this point. This is very poor and we should have been notified of this when the initial offer came through which was also requesting a short date. MOV8 clearly knew the buyers position given they were also their client. I have also found out since the sale concluded that the buyer had this fee waived with no hassle, however, I don’t think our complaint re this was ever taken seriously or passed to the cash office for consideration which is frustrating.

From submitting our offer and the acceptance, to the solicitor's research and documentation, all went according to plan. However, this purchase may have been more challenging since it was an estate sale and the heirs of the property lived in Canada. I can recommend MOV8 without reservation for your next home purchase.

No show for viewing

Made a booking for a viewing, the first available viewing was over a week in the future. Really liked the look of the listing, so confirmed.Arrived in plenty of time for there to be a no show for the viewing. We and another couple waited to see if anyone turned up, no one did. No attempt to try and contact us before the arranged time.After we had left the agent did make contact and kindly agreed to rearrange the viewing for a day they would normally be closed.
