Stay well away if you stay outside of Edinburgh this place is terrible bad customer service from about a month of my flat being on took 2 years to sell they didn’t even have it on the the area for first 3 months dealt with 3 different people for selling and 3 different solicitors who may I add send wrong paperwork out so nearly lost the sale of the house I bought had to take time of work and travel an hr through to there office to hand legal work in no communication between any of the colleagues the stress and loss of money this company has caused is terrible they are also 1 half thousand dearer than our local estate agents STAY WELL AWAY IVE JUST NOTICED THEY ONLY REPLY TO THE GD FEEDBACK ON HERE JUST SAYS IT ALL REALLY

We were kept fully informed throughout the process and particular mention needs to be made of Ann Macintosh who made the whole selling process painless. We have received an acceptable offer after only five weeks. Would thoroughly recommend MFL.

The level of service received from McEwan Fraser Legal bore no resemblance to the "award-winning" service I expected. I am severely disappointed with their service and would never recommend their services to anyone. My calls were not returned, queries not answered, and message board not used by their staff. The message board was supposedly to provide full details on all related property information, but then not thoroughly used by their own staff. If they weren't answering my questions, what did that mean was happening with prospective purchasers. You'd be much better off not incurring £5k+ worth of fees for a sub-standard service (and a property sales value of £195k) and spending your money using online services and providing viewing services yourself to ensure you're giving prospective purchasers the information they need. The initial media package fee of £500+VAT was reduced to £200+VAT when I initially declined this service, so check you're not being ripped off if it's that simple to get the price reduced so substantially. Never again will I go near this firm.

We have been really please, with the service that McEwan Fraser Legal did for us. From starting with Ken, then Craig the photographer, then Tom, who took us though all the sale and marketing and all the staff, who were at the end of the phone, whenever we needed to ask a question. The photo's were amazing, we were really pleased with them, Also the Tracker board, was wonderful, everything that happened, was there for us to view, at our leisure. Each step of the process, was done efficiently and professionally, making it a stress free experience. We would highly recommend this company, to anyone selling their property. I'm delighted with the friendly and efficient service from McEwan Fraser. Every single person went out of their way to take the time to explain everything, I really liked the message board for keeping up-to-date with the progress. One of the reasons for choosing them was their long opening hours which I'm sure most certainly helped in the quick sale of my property. It was sold by day 10!! McEwan Fraser may be more expensive than other estate agents but the service that they provide is first class and I would definitely recommend them to everyone.

Everyone says moving house is one of the most stressful things you can do. Not with these guys! We had the help and expertise of Omar from start to finish and everyone at McEwan Fraser we dealt with were simply first class. Omar guided us through every stage of the process and was extremely helpful and knowledgeable - after all, it's not every day you buy and sell property! Our message board was updated daily to keep us aware of what was happening and viewings were arranged around our needs. Fast, efficient, friendly and so, so helpful. I can't recommend these guys enough!

McEwan Fraser are the 4th Estate Agents we went with after being unsuccessful in selling our property for 18mths. We had an offer on our property within 7 days!!!!, couldn't believe it!. They are a very professional company and all the staff I dealt with were so lovely and helpful. If they said they were going to do something they did it right away and always gave you feedback. I loved having the app on my phone which kept you up to date with everything, made life so much easier for me especially with a new baby and having "baby brain". We had previously been on the market for 14 months , unbelievably we accepted an offer for our house 5 days after going on the market. My experience of MFL was dreadful, they are expensive and offer no benefit over a local estate agent. I was on a sliding scale fee for estate agency work and sadly the service deteriorated along with the fee. After the 20 week cut off when I was on the lowest fee scale the service became non-existent. By week 60 they finally managed to get an offer for £10k less than the asking price. Communication was a one way process with me always calling my negotiator, who seldom answered, I would leave a voicemail then she would call back. It was rare that she had an understanding or knowledge about what was going on with my account and often spend the first part of any call going through my notes to familiarise herself. I believe I lost one potential purchaser who had originally contacted MFL on the Part Exchange incentive as my negotiator was useless. I spend most of my time chasing her for an update only to find out that the person who was looking at my house had bought elsewhere without any direct contact from my negotiator. She preferred to speak to her Colleague who was managing the sale of the other property. I firmly believe the Part Exchange option is a way for MFL to secure additional Clients. These Clients make contact with MFL regarding Part Exchange, get offered a very low part exchange price and a promise to sell the property quickly as an alternative. When I complained about both the fee and service to my highly trained negotiator, she agreed to meet with her Director. The response was that I had signed up to their terms and conditions and as such owed them all outlays they were seeking payment for. They did concede that they overcharged for one item. Once I finally had an offer on my house, and only because the completion dates were the same for both the sale and purchase, I opted to use MFL for my purchase. This was not a good idea. Errors included getting the name of the property wrong on the offer for our new house, dreadful communication, only ever communicating by email and giving no proper updates, finally they concluded the sale of my house by transferring the proceeds which were to be used for the purchase of my new house into my account. 5 days later, I received an email stating I owed them this money back with no apology or admission of error on their part. As I was moving house I did not respond to this email and received a second one the day after demanding that I contact them to make payment. Once we moved in I contacted the Solicitor as the water tank was leaking, he still hasn't called back, I have now missed the 5 days under the standard clauses to report defects. In summary very poor service and next time I move I'm going to save money and use a smaller local Solicitor. In my opinion MFL are a waste of money!! 04/06/15 - A small update to my last review. MFL have accepted that they should have contacted me regarding the water tank and in turn claimed the costs back from the seller. As it was too late to do this under the standard clauses MFL have reimbursed me for the money I had to pay out to put the defect right.

We really liked the ease with which we were able to contact MFL and the prompt way they responded. All their fees were explained and their valuation was far more helpful than some of the high st usual suspects. The photos were excellently done and the whole package was most professional. The sale was (alarmingly!) quick and the whole process was easily visible on the very handy personal dashboard. Some chasing up was required once the sale was agreed to keep us informed but overall I would recommend MFL thoroughly. In fact, I did recommend it to my brother in law, who also sold his house extremely quickly.

I chose McEwan Fraser after seeing a handful of estate agents when deciding to sell my house. They were, by far, the most interested and professional estate agent I encountered. When having the house valued, they spent more than an hour at my property and were very thorough, where some other agents spent very little time and showed no interest. McEwan Fraser were very professional throughout and helpful in guiding me through the process. The schedule they produced for the property was first class, showed the house's best features. All the viewings were arranged efficiently, and the online account allowed for easy management of the selling process and to keep me informed of what was happening. The sale was handled very smoothly and I achieved more than the home report value. I was delighted with the service from start to finish. All the staff I dealt with were very friendly and helpful. Their offices are also open late, which is excellent when it comes to arranging viewings. Couldn't fault the experience at all. They are pricier than many estate agents out there, but make no mistake, you get what you pay for. The next time I sell a property, it will be through them again.

My experience tells me there are two types of Agent: The common or garden agent who thinks the hard work is over once they have persuaded you to put your property with them and the lesser spotted professional agent who understand that the real hard work starts once you have trusted them with the sale of your property. McEwan Fraser Legal is definitely the later. These guys convinced me to go with them by impressive professionalism and great market knowledge. Once I said yes they worked their socks off for me. They kept me informed all the way through. Nothing happened without them informing me within minutes, not because I asked, I actually didn’t, but because this is what these guys do. They showed my property where they knew it was best to show it and had it sold within two weeks of putting it on the market. And, I’m delighted to add, for a price way above what I thought it would achieve. Once I had chosen the best offer (I had an impressive 5) the legal side took over and wow! They are just as impressive. They worked extremely hard for and with me and when they discovered a couple of things that could hold up the sale, clearly advised me of my options and helped me come to the right decisions in good time for the sale to go through as planned. Now that’s what I call team work! No wonder you guys are racking up the awards. Thank you McEwan Fraser Legal for all your hard work and for the fantastic results you achieved for me.

After some internet research I decided on McEwan Fraser to sell my flat. I felt that although their package was more expensive, what they were offering and their reputation was worth it. Their marketing is second to none and I hoped this would be of benefit to me. I literally couldn't have asked for anymore. From my initial meeting I was impressed with their professionalism and felt totally convinced I had made the right choice. From the photographs to the schedule they prepared it was all way beyond my expectations. The service they offer regarding opening hours is second to none. All the staff who were involved in arranging the viewings and Keir who was my assigned sales consultant were so professional and 'on the ball' it was very reassuring and I was confident that my property sale was in the best hands. My flat was sold within 2 weeks of being published and in that time I had over 46 viewers, I was literally astounded. I am still negotiating the sale but they continue to exceed my expectations. Hopefully I won't be selling again anytime soon but when I do without a shadow of a doubt I will use McEwan Fraser. As the saying goes you definitely get what you pay for and I don't think I've ever had money better spent! Thanks to everyone I've dealt with for your help!
