Without going in to all the details, I can only say that the level of incompetence I encountered from using MFL in selling my property and purchasing another (neither of which happened ultimately), was quite simply astounding. They managed to make what is already a highly stressful situation 10 times more stressful by being incapable of following though with actions they stated they would, or that I requested, and generally just providing a well bellow adequate service. For a start they provided a brochure that was so riddled with grammatical errors, and just generally did NOT actually SELL my property, that I actually had to rewrite the text myself...and that was just the start of the never-ending issues that cropped up. If MFL invested even half as much time & effort into marketing the properties of their clients as they do their own company, they might be half way to fulfilling their own advertising claims. Edit: In response to the comment left by MFL - I submitted a detailed official complaint to MFL last year, which I received a response to at the end of last month. And I can assure you the response in no way resolved ANYTHING. It was a wholly biased report which skewed events (and was peppered with patronising and snide remarks), and did not take in to consideration the overarching premise of my complaint which was that the repeated errors, oversights etc that meant I was constantly having to monitor the work MFL should have been doing, caused me significant stress and ultimately the standard of service was grossly inadequate. I had waited to receive the response before posting any reviews as I believed that only to be fair, but now that I have received the response, and MFL are still accepting no accountability for the litany of errors, I will share my experience in the hope that others may avoid going through the additional stress of using an estate agency who are incompetent and provide substandard services.

Had an exceptionally poor experience using this firm. They sat on the work for an extended period of time, poor communication, made mistakes, gave me advice that I understand to be contrary to legal requirements and then tried to claim they didn't understand my complaint. I gave up in the end but they did refund the fee. I would add that it was a trainee that was responsible for the work so maybe fully trained solicitors and partners at this firm would have done better. I will never use this firm again as they wasted my time and cost me money.

SHOCKING, NOT EVEN WORTH ONE STAR !!!! This company in particular the Paisley branch are to be avoided at all costs. We offered on a property in person to the seller which was accepted, unfortunately it had just went to closing,the seller phoned the following morning to ask the EA take it off the market, the EA told the seller she would be in breach of contract if she didn't go to closing date.!!! So the seller went to closing date, !!! CLOSING DATE , the sellers kept to their word and sold to us. even though they had higher offers. We didn't even get a call from this EA to say we had been successful with the property. It was our solicitor that called us at 4.30 to let us know and told us she had to phone the EA and ask for an update, the closing time was 1pm !!!!! Luckily for us the sellers called us at 1. 30 to congratulate us on getting the property. THEN the sellers told us the EA called them AFTER closing date on the Saturday morning to give them another offer. This is very unethical and highly unprofessional after a closing date. Luckily for us the seller didn't accept and wanted us to have the house. We are in our dream home now, NO thanks to this EA, Don't touch them and I would never recommend them.

Not the best experience and not award winning in my opinion. They required regular interventions from me as the client, despite their glossy sales pitch, premium price tag and unfulfilled promise of communication. I would not use MFL again. Issues included: spelling and grammar errors in my brochure; pictures taken from a child's eye level; limited and low quality images used in the virtual tour; MFL didn't confirm the property was loaded onto property portal websites so didn't spot an error in their system; MFL relied on a clunky proprietary messaging system rather than build rapport; stats did not show on their dashboard without prompt and were of limited value as they were only collated weekly and did not indicate conversions to brochure requests or viewings; viewing bookings were loaded for New year's Eve until prompted; MFL solicitors just parked my file once an offer was made without acknowledging whether the formal acceptance had been actioned; MFL solicitors failed to communicate or respond to requests for progress updates without repeated called and emails.

After finding a house to purchase the seller has been using this company and the service from them has been nothing bit shocking. No communication to the seller, no communication to.our solicitor and even on the day we are due to settle we have only just recieved the written acceptance with a lot of our clauses removed! We are sitting here with vans loaded and ready to go and now we are being told it could take another two days due enviromental searches not being done. I bought this house 2 months ago for crying out loud!!! Even the seller has contacted me to ask what is going on as they havent heard anything from McEwans Fraser. Although i havent directly used this company i would avoid them with a barge pole as first impressions count and they are shocking at communicating with people!NegativeResponsiveness, Professionalism

I chose McEwan Fraser over the others I researched and am very glad I did. The service they provide is second to none, particularly the out of hours, 7 days a week availability as most enquiries seemed to be in the evening or weekends and they were right on it. From Mike the Surveyor to Logan the Consultant appointed to me, I cannot thank them enough for their on point communications, professionalism and efficiency. I sold very quickly and with ease and they actually made it quite fun ! The dashboard system incorporated is extremely useful from a sellers point of view and seriously helps keep track of all stages of the process - a very useful tool. I would highly recommend the enhanced package due to the nationwide coverage as opposed to just local, it definitely is good from a marketing prospective. I would not hesitate to use them again and to recommend them to others. Thank you.

I have had a very poor experience with McEwan Fraser Legal. When we put our house on the market we were lucky enough to get an acceptable offer straight away which we accepted. It was then the trouble began. Our case sat on someone's desk for 5 weeks without any progress. I was assured that, despite this, we would still exchange on the agreed date. This begs the question: if it can be done this quickly, why isn't it always? In fact we hit a couple of snags. The person dealing with our case was incapable of explaining things to us in plain English, and had no viable suggestions to solve it, so eventually the sale fell through. After this, and with our own research we resolved the main issue ourselves but it was all too late. The property then sat on the market empty for 18 months. We lost our 2nd home tax rebate. Eventually I sacked McEwan Fraser and relisted with someone better, and the property sold within the week. I would not recommend this company to anyone. They charge exorbitant amounts and that's not reflected at all in the quality of the service. The legal assigned to us was incompetent and the attitude of the company as a whole is arrogant and complacent.

I have had a particularly difficult experience with my selling process due to the buyer's solicitor not providing good communication with either his clients (my buyer) or my solicitor Jadiene Morison (and Kenneth Daley who covered her holiday). However, both Jadiene and Kenneth remained professional and helpful throughout the process and guided me through a particularly tricky sale process with great competence.
