GoogleFriend got stuck in the bathroom due a broken lock. Agency were on it straight away and sent out a locksmith for repairs. The following day the locksmith returned for a new lock replacement.

As a landlord, these guys attempted to rip me off claiming that an out of hours electrician had to be called out. What they didn't know was that I actually spoke to the electrician while he was on the job at 11:30am on a Tuesday. When busted, they lied further saying a less experienced electrician had attended the evening before but couldn't resolve the problem, therefore the job was passed to someone else the following day. Turned out that was a lie also as the tenant confirmed no electrician had come 'out of hours'. When called out on that, they threw their toys out the pram. They have now been relieved from the duties as Property Managers. I would urge other landlords to follow suit. Very shady practices and barefaced dishonesty.The reply below is another lie. When confronted on their dishonesty they lied again and played victim and it was apparently all my fault. A pathetic response from a pathetic little man.

Having spent eight fruitless weeks trying to help my son find a flat to rent in Edinburgh it was a huge relief to deal with Garry Fox at Apropos (DJ Alexander). Garry recommended a suitable flat, arranged on line viewing and secured the rental in little over 24 hours. The paperwork was professionally organised by Chloe and Lee and little over a week after first contact, my son and his flatmate have moved in. Fantastic service and a great relief. Edinburgh is a very difficult market for renting at present and many agents are extremely dismissive of prospective tenants. In this environment it was reassuring to deal with an organisation that provided a high level of customer service, keeping me informed of progress throughout the rental process.

Although I arrived late to my viewing because of road confusion, Asif did not show the least bit of resentment towards my lateness. He was quite flexible. He offered to either tour us around or let us look at everything on our own as we asked questions as we went. As soon as I asked Asif a question, he provided an instant response with an answer. He has been very prompt in his responses to my emails and has walked me through the entire procedure. He is a valuable asset to the company and he is helping to make the transition that I am going through as painless as it possibly can be for me.

When I wanted to sell my 2 bedroom flat, quickly, I put my trust into a well known and long established Edinburgh based estate agent, in order to provide the service I needed, efficiently, professionally and with my best interests at heart. GoogleDoing a a simple change of tenancy has been the most stressful experience with DJ Alexander. Their emails always came across as quite hostile and threatening for no apparent reason. Every time they asked us to fill in forms and gather documents, they always gave us unrealistic deadlines of 48hrs, which makes things unnecessarily stressful. They even wrote the WRONG rent amount on the draft lease, thankfully we noticed! When we needed to ask an extension of a few days to give more time to our guarantor to gather their income documents from their workplace, they threatened us to CANCEL the whole application and make us move out!? They threatened to cancel our application even though we were doing this process more than a month in advance! They say we need to adhere to strict deadlines to give time to their admin process before the move in date, and yet they completed everything after a single day after we submitted everything… so why such strict deadlines and threats when we have more than 30 days of time before moving in? I’ve done a change of tenancy with the same flat but a DIFFERENT agency before and it was simple and stress free. DJ Alexander makes everything so unnecessarily stressful.

Booked a viewing for one of their properties for the next day without issue with the understanding that it would take place at 4:40pm. When I checked the property on the day, I noticed it appeared as ‘let agreed’. When calling the agent, they said that they ‘didn’t know’ if it had been let or not, and they would be in contact with the property manager. After ringing them back 2 hours before my viewing, I was told they still didn’t know and that the property was under offer and in the final stages of completion. As someone who had to travel over an hour to the property, I was disgusted by the attitude they operate under. It appears they just take bookings and show people round without even checking if they property is still available. Waste of time.

I would like to express that DJ Alexander property agency provide an excellent services. I felt they have been done my request as kindly consideration and smoothly process. For example, I had an appointment quickly for viewing flat and after they immediately arranged an appointment for my paper application in their office at the following day, because my medical reason I requested it without online application. The process went smooth and easy to communication with all staff. I and my children are very happy to in the home as it is a very nice flat.I would like to recommend to friends who need a home in the future.

I’m a DJ Alexander tenant for almost a year now. It’s been a good experience since I moved in, all thanks to the property manager, Natalia. She responds to emails quickly and always provides good advice. When she carried out the inspection in my flat, she was very respectful and did not treat the visit as “one of many”. Paid attention to all issues and made sure everything was sorted. Couldn’t recommend her more!
