The moving-in procedure is quick and fluent. The property manager Sophie, Chloe and Scott helped a lot throughout the way. In addition, every feedback would be attached importance here! After moving-in, we found some problem with the boiler and reported to DJ, they manage the check and repair stuff immediately. Thanks a lot to such a supportive team!

No support for emergencies

The biggest challenge in dealing with DJ Alexander is getting any emergency repair and maintenance, as no one is available to talk. You have to report it to the online system and then wait for their response.Today, in the middle of the day, we found that the gas hob was sparking continuously and reported immediately, as we could not cook. The same electric switch is for the oven as well and can’t keep it on due to safety. Now it is 5:30 pm and still did not get any response. Basically, I am afraid of the future if any serious emergency occurs other than this oven and hob issue! I can’t think of it!!Contacted the owner; we were told to contact DJ Alexander. Fair enough and can’t fault the owner. Given this experience, I would prefer to rent directly from the owner rather than from a commercial agent. At least we will get some support in the event of emergencies.

Unbelievable Experience :)

We have recently moved to Edinburgh and the timing to arrive couldn't have been more wrong, with all lettings agents and viewing closed during the Christmas and the New year period. But we did managed to view a few, one of which was from DJ Alexander. While this was shortlisted and blocked for us, the majority of the work done by Laura Mctaggart, the credit check, the documentation part etc , in a matter of "1" single day, was nothing short of an unbelievable experience. I have had my set of experiences with other letting agents across the UK, but nothing like this before. Laura Mctaggart had been a true professional and we sincerely appreciate her efforts to ensure we have a smooth transition our new apartment. Really appreciate how skilfully & capably our paperwork was handled and completed. Also big thanks to Giulia too, for bearing us during the Christmas period and helping us to complete the viewing. A wonderful soul herself :) Great assets for DJA. Thanks Guys, any amount of gratitude mentioned here wouldn't be enough ! Have a good one :)

Peace of mind property management’

I have used DJ Alexander for a number of years to manage tenancies in my Edinburgh flat and find them very proficient and reliable. They are well organised with a single point of contact from the landlord’s point of view and any issues that arise from both tenant and landlord are swiftly dealt with. They keep on top of all the legislative requirements involved in letting a property (gas cert, legionella test, electrical condition tests, Pat tests, etc). They have a property maintenance facility which can be deployed to fix small problems at short notice.Their billing / accounting system works well and is easily understood.Staff are very approachable and seem happy in their work which makes me think they’re good to work for too.

Absolutely shocking! I'm not one to write reviews, especially bad ones. However my experience with dj Alexander has been so appalling I had to send out this warning. They are rude, unhelpful and just tend to lead you on a wild goose chase. I lost 3 other flats because dj Alexander kept losing my email and replacement tenants sensitive information. They would not take responsibility even though I had emails to show dates and conversations with completed relevant forms with their own staff. This company needs to be held accountable by their governing bodies and I will make sure this happens. I don't know how dj Alexander has managed to become such a big company with all their lies and deceitful behaviour. The management don't take responsibility and the young people attending their phone are just so defensive and rude as soon as you explain your situation, it's ridiculous! No such thing as customer service or empathy or even professionalism in this company. At least in the Edinburgh branch! It's all pleasant and nice at the beginning but once they've got you, you're done for! AVOID RENTING WITH THIS COMPANY!!

While I did have to wait a fair while on hold, that's understandable with how busy it is at the moment. Once I got through and spoke to Yasemin, she was really friendly and helpful.
