We have had a terrible experience with DJ Alexander which after several months still remains unresolved. They have not paid their full share of mutual repairs despite numerous emails and cost us a lot of waisted time and money with no concern about rectifying their inadequacies and time delays. This will affect their owner in the future with regards to future mutual repairs enabling works to be carried out promptly and effectively.

DJ Alexander have looked after my flat for 20 years now. Their Property Manager, Kieran Mooney, recently carried out an annual inspection of my flat. This was carried out comprehensively and to a very high professional standard. I was particularly grateful for the photographic evidence of the inspection which provided reassuring evidence that all is well.

We had a problem with a leaking shower door and a broken shower head holder. David Harcus (Maintenance Co-ordinator) kept me updated with emails which informed me that the issue had been logged, who they were sending to fix it, who they resent to finish fixing it, and a confirmation checking that the issue had been solved to our satisfaction. I was really pleased to see that when the issue was first logged, David had listened exactly to the way I described the problem and written it down clearly for the contractor. Thanks DJ Alexander :)

A great experience getting a flat with DJ Alexander, found the perfect property. The whole process from start to finish was a great experience, our letting agent was incredibly helpful with the application process. I must note my appreciation for Laura Mctaggart, who was our applications advisor. She was very helpful and informative, was always just a call away, and kept us in the loop throughout the process. As first-time renters, we felt supported and looked after throughout our application. We could not ask for a more helpful or professional service. Would recommend to anyone. :)

I have used DJ Alexander for several years to manage my own property after having dealt with them for several years prior through my work. I have always found them a good firm to deal with and responsive to queries and flagging when there are issues at the property. I find the end of tenancy and any inspections reports comprehensive and practical.

I’m a recent landlord renting out my property via apropos/DJ Alexander and I found them to be very responsive, quick and efficient. I’ve been especially pleased with the services provided by Stephen Lawson who I’ve chatted to quite a bit throughout the process, he’s been great and always has a quick answer to sort out my questions. I’ve also briefly liaised with Elliot/Evie and they’ve been very helpful too, overall I’m glad I rented via this agency, especially as I live abroad so it makes it much easier for me & less hassle to deal with property issues.

This is not a verdict on any of the individual employees at DJ Alexander and their Apropos service (who have all been very nice and helpful). Instead this is a review of the lettings agency as a whole, which has sent us on one wild goose chase after another for more than a month now.I have never received a reply from DJ Alexander to either emails or inquiries sent through their website. When calling, I have often been on hold for over half an hour waiting to speak to someone. Although they have always been very nice when I have got through, I have never been contacted back with responses to my queries despite taking my details on each occasion. Their policy on virtual viewings is inconsistent: we were sometimes told that they are not possible at all, sometimes that they are fine, and another time booking an appointment only to be told an hour before than actually the agent wasn't able to do it. Even after traveling up to Edinburgh to make viewings in person most of my viewings were cancelled at short notice or, in one case, with no notification at all. This is not a problem we have had with any other lettings agent.After many years of lettings across several cities, both good and bad, this is undoubtedly the most difficult and frustrating experience we have ever had.

Issue Fixed, one of the Managers called us on Sunday to discuss this and everything has been fixed on the day after. Remarkable. Really appreciated it!Still renting one of their properties in Edinburgh. Our tenancy ends on the 21st on July and last Monday one of the boiler valves just blew up, leaving us with no water. We've been calling during the last four days, hoping for this David to call us back in order to let us know about someone able to fix this, but it seems like he's too busy to send a good plumber to replace the valve so we can get water back normally. Even though we are leaving, we paid our last rent as we've been doing for almost three years! I think we deserve some attention!

My partner and I were looking for a new flat and DJ Alexander could not be more helpful. Many of the services were automated and online meaning that when we did need access to information it was readily available. If we did have more questions, and there was a lot, our contact Laura Mc was extremely responsive and friendly, often picking up the phone within minutes of me sending an email and remaining professional and friendly throughout. This is so much better than the agents I've dealt with in the past who takes hours or even days to respond. Next time we move, I'd definitely want to use D.J Alexander again!
