GoogleWe spent over a year working with Cox & Co to purchase an investment property. Over the course of many delays in the transaction, it became clear that we had been given incomplete and at times completely untrue information. We were not adequately informed about upcoming legislation affecting rental properties, and our investment representative severely downplayed the impact these new laws could have on our investment. When our deal fell through due to circumstances that really could have been foreseen, we asked our agent why he hadn't warned us of this possibility, even though when it happened he'd said it was a common issue. "We hoped it wouldn't come up," was the best he could say, while shifting blame to surveyors and banks. The problems with the survey were a blessing in disguise -- we withdrew our offer and will take our business to a more trustworthy management company.

The team here are all professionals and take their careers very seriously. Therefore, we feel it’s only fair to reply to your review with the same level of detail you felt necessary to share here on Google.
Taking the full journey into consideration, we disagree with your version of events entirely. There was never at any point “completely untrue” information provided. The surveyor/bank deemed the property you were interested in as ‘outwith their lending risk criteria’. This is not something we or anyone could have foreseen.
With regards to timelines and delays - these were mainly due to your failure to provide documents in a timely fashion. You were made aware of the current waiting times within the banking industry and the time frames we needed to keep within. You chose not to comply with reasonable requests for reasonable information. We are more than happy to provide you with evidence of delays in getting the required information, if required.
You were also informed that we cannot advise on legislation that, at the time of dealing with you, didn’t even exist.
In closing, We feel our staff members have worked hard to accommodate your demands, but in the end, the seller grew tired and chose not to meet any more of your requests; this led to the purchase falling through and left us having to apologise profusely to a quality seller who trusted us with the sale of their property. Never a fun position to be in.
It is a real shame you felt it necessary to share your views via a review platform, but I’m relieved that we’re entitled to respond with our opinions and thoughts too.

YellPathetic experience as letting agent
Very rude. When asked simple queries, during viewing about the furniture, got answers like- this is not a hotel.. this is not a hotel.... Not at all considerate and the tone during overall conversation from their side was, as if i was asking the flat for free. Never ever experienced such behaviour from any agents. The need is same from tenants as well as from owner/ agency side. Agency is to -answer the queries, there is no point in getting irritated about queries being asked. Must improve on the way to handle the customers.

GoogleI couldn't rate the service from Niall at Cox & Co more highly. Niall's expertise arranging our mortgage made buying our first house quick and painless. We received all the advice and explanation that we needed every step of the way, and Niall was always on hand to chase the lender (and us, on occasion!) when necessary.
The office location is also incredibly central and really handy for popping by when required. We were made to feel very welcome by Director John Cox - a lovely company to deal with from start to finish.

Mike Eskine, a portfolio manager there has been extremely unprofessional about the letting of my property, sending rather rude emails to my tenants, thankfully, my tenants forwarded me some of his emails and I will bring my business elsewhere. I definitely would not reccommend this agent if you are trying to let out your property as they will drive your tenants out.
