I found the service excellent in every way. Quick to respond, clear and straightforward, pleasant and very supportive. I felt I was in safe hands. The following is in no way a complaint, just the only aspect that I struggled with a bit. Because of Corvid, I was unable to meet and talk with my Solicitor face to face: in hindsight I would have benefited from being able to talk through the legal process of buying and selling a house at the start. Being uninformed about Scottish law ( or any law, for that matter), I was surprised by certain aspects that occurred that I was not aware of. (Eg. Finding that if the buyer of my house could not get hold of his payment on a certain agreed date, then I would be in breach of contract!)PositiveResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism

I engaged Coulters for a simultaneous property sale and purchase at the start of 2021 (just as the country was going into a new national COVID lockdown). I have used Louise Williams for a number of previous purchases and sales over the years from a conveyancing perspective, and continue to be consistently impressed by the exceptional levels of proactive service throughout every element of a transaction. It's great to know that I am in the safest and wisest of hands. I had not worked with the sales team at Coulters previously, but was delighted to experience a similarly exceptional level of service throughout that sales process from Sean Nicol and Jenny Carswell. From start to finish the process of selling our flat and buying a new property was very smooth thanks to the staff at Coulters. We had some delays to our move due to circumstances beyond our (and Coulters) control, but they were really responsive with keeping us up to date and providing advice when needed, both from the estate agency and legal team. The website used for the sale of our property (specific webpage for our flat with details of viewings, notes of interest and views of the listing etc.) was excellent and very professional, well beyond what we expected. Coulters took over representing my landlord last year and intitially seemed promising when it came to getting on top of the many repairs the property required to make it habitable. Unfortunately this didn't last and they come across extremely unprofessional. Ignoring phone calls due to having caller id in their offices so they know who is phoning and can choose to ignore the phones. The property manager for the proper told me to end my tenancy and find someone else to live!

I've used Coulters for a number of years now as a landlord, at one point renting out two properties through them. I am back in my house now but still renting out another property and I have never had any problems with them and the neighbours have been happy with the tenants they've found for us. I have had experience as a tenant myself, renting a property through another agency and received shocking customer service (never getting replies or answers to calls or emails) but as a landlord I have not experienced this with Coulters.

We sold our flat in the west end of Edinburgh in less than 2 weeks last spring and the whole process was brilliant. From first approaching Coulters, their friendly approach and confident and capable staff and solicitors and their ability to sell our flat over 20% above valuation was a wonderful bonus to compliment them. Their abilities extended beyond their people with the technology used being quick and the visibility of the flat in the market being excellent. Everyone I spoke to was well informed and able to get the information I needed at the time and their assessment of offers tendered was truly helpful. Having spoken with the buyers I also know they were happy with how coulters conducted themselves. Brilliant experience from first phone call to sale and leaving our beautiful flat in new hands.

Coulters do not honour basic codes of conduct for reputable estate agents. After one of their properties caused serious water ingress damage to my flat, they are refusing to send round a plumber to confirm that the leak has been fixed. This leaves me in a state of limbo, as I am unable to redecorate my property until I know the underlying issue has been fixed. Repeated attempts to resolve the issue via telephone & email have gone unanswered. Don't risk dealing with these people.

'A year after purchasing a flat from a client of Coulters I'm reminded how bad they were. The agent told us the property had designated parking spot , when it turned out it had a communal parking area. And on purchasing the property we removed one of the "for sale" signs which conveniently was hiding a broken window mechanism, taped up with packing tape. The person viewing the flat on behalf of Coulter's client didn't seem to have a clue. There's a lot of reasonable estate agents, these are not one of them.

One star is being generous. Without a doubt the worst estate agents I have ever dealt with. Do not rent from Coulters. From March until August we had water leaking into our flat. Despite reporting the problem immediately, Coulters took no action to resolve the issue. This resulted in mould and fungi growing all over the walls of the bedroom, which also resulted in a horrible smell throughout the entire flat. They repeatedly ignored our emails and calls, to the point where we had to take a few hours off work to go into the office to speak with the manager directly. Despite our continuous complaints and threats of legal action they continued to do nothing to resolve the problem. We continuously asked for a discount in rent to reflect the fact that we could only use one bedroom, despite paying for a two bedroom flat. They eventually gave in and gave us a discount for one month, although we had been unable to use the mouldy bedroom for over 5 months. To summarise, the customer service of Coulters was absolutely shocking. They did not stick to the tenancy agreement and ignored our emails and calls, but at the same time were happy to take our money. I will never have any interaction with Coulters again and would advise people to avoid them.

So I'm using this as a final attempt for someone at Coulters to call us back. We're moving out of our property tomorrow and despite several emails and phone calls no one has been in touch with us about moving out. THe office is now closed until the 5th of January by which time we will be living in London. As they have shut up shop im hoping someone is savvy enough to check their online presence during this time and call us back.
