GoogleAndy and the team couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. As first time buyers it was all a bit new to us but everything was explained really well and all of our questions answered. Really appreciated being able to organise follow up viewings during the sale process so we could start measuring and planning. All round great experience.

GoogleMy experience. Within moments of them taking over from Giblins my rent went up by over a third. Despite knowing I was out the country from Dec 22 to March 23, and previously using email to contact me, a hand written letter is delivered through the post telling me my rent is going up. Apparently this rent increase by stealth is LEGAL. So beware, they are not the most honest company out there and I've lost £300 of my deposit as a result. Oh and the black mold issue reported was never fixed, in fact after moving out, another couple move straight in. They'll likely blame them for it too rather than fix the issue. Within a few months, 3 renter's (myself and the neighbours) moved out....oh and my other friend was moved out after promising a new kitchen as the original was dire, that never manifested either. To top it off, I get a leaflet in post from my return to the UK from Castles that said "Landlords, we get you premium prices" yes, by robbing your tenants blind. I was at my old place for 13 years. For just £200 more a month I swapped my 3 bed FLAT, to a 5 bed DETACHED house. STAY AWAY, ILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY EVER AGAIN. Shop around, you'll find better deals and better agents out there!! In further response to your reply, we kitted out the new bathroom, the only room that was decorated in 13 years. This was done so as to keep the rent lower. The tiles were falling off the wall and were dangerous at this point.The rent was lower due to the kitchen being from 1980 and draws falling to bits. New landlord, didn't even visit us, or look at the property, the black mold issue was rife. What you failed to mention, is that you'd emailed me several times while I was away, so why not when the rent was suddenly put up. Giving me 3 days to find rent increase due in March. So thanks for that!! Totally unprofessional. Let's hope you learn from this, I'm still totally disgusted by the stealth way you did it.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us this review. We are sorry that you feel so un-happy with the service that you have received. What your review does fail to mention is that your rent was reviewed after your previous landlord sold the property to a new landlord. The new landlord transferred the management of your property to ourselves following that transaction. The reason they transferred the management was due to the previous agent never reviewing the rent. The reason you had such a large increase is that the rent wasn’t reviewed for years at a time. Also it’s not underhand to serve a notice of a rent increase through the door, it’s how we are obliged to deliver the document. Once again we’re sorry you feel that this hasn’t been dealt with very well and we wish you luck in your new home.

GoogleI would give to Castles in Eaton Bray zero stars if this was possible! Stay away especially if you want to get your deposit back! In particular stay away from 2 individuals: Jake Houchen and Lumina Antoine. They encourage landlords to make deductions from the deposit! They even blamed me and my wife of causing the mould in the bedroom when it was not our fault!! The property where we lived was very damp! The way they treated me and my wife absolutely disgusted me!

GoogleWe are first time buyers and have been in the process of looking for a home for around 6 months… We have met many agents via different estate agent companies, however Castles are by far the best in terms of professionalism, proving information, knowing the property they are looking to sell, explaining in detail aspects of the property whilst taking you on tour and seem genuinely invested in listening to your needs. I have not yet bought our home (hence only 4 stars) but Castles go that extra mile compared to the other estate agents. Many other estate agents hand you a document and then let you wonder the property without saying a word, don’t know much about a property and/or are on their phone throughout the appointment. A totally different experience with Castles. If you have the option of viewing a property via Castles you definitely should. My recent viewing was with Matt and Calum both very professional and helpful. Thanks guys!

Castles have been great since they’ve taken over, any issues that we have are resolved promptly. Inspections are very thorough which we think is great. GoogleHenry at Castle's was like Kirsty & Phil all rolled into one! It was our first time looking at properties to buy and in 1 fun Saturday afternoon, he whisked us around 6 properties, all in different areas with different specifications to help us hone in on what we wanted! He is so knowledgeable about properties and areas and I really felt like it was a personal service he gave us. When I made the initial enquiry, he got back to me straight away, made the bookings quickly and was extremely efficient, I must say I didn't get the same service from other agents as some didn't even get back to me to book the viewing I'd requested!
